Kristine Hermosa 'Never Imagined God Will Bring' Her And Oyo Sotto To 12 Years Of Marriage

Kristine Hermosa looked back with a grateful heart on how she and Oyo Sotto started out as friends, eventually getting married, having five children, and now celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary.

The actress said in the caption of her Instagram post on January 12, 2023: "6 years of having a peculiar yet the best friendship and 12 years of being married to you is incomparably beautiful with all of its imperfections."

She added, "I have never imagined God will bring us this far. Truly, nothing is impossible with the Lord. Being with you in those years and now made me realize how persistently committed and capable you are."

She went on honoring her husband: "You’ve shown me great deal of devotion, respect and honor. You selflessly love and generously share regardless of how much or little you have. You hold a strong sense of passion and godly wisdom.. In other words, di talaga masyadong masaya at kumpleto pag wala ka.. makulimlim ang kapaligiran.."

She then expressed her gratitude "to everyone who prayed and walked with us all these years and to those who stayed for a season, maraming salamat from the bottom of our hearts."

Kristine singled out those closest and dearest to her and her husband, starting with her mother: "To my dearest Mama Alma, thank you for adding challenge to our relationship before, mas naging makulay at nadagdagan ang kilig...Mas tumibay si Oyo at mas minahal mo siya."

She next thanked Oyo's father, ace comedian and TV host Vic Sotto, who cast her as his leading lady in the Enteng Kabisote fantasy movie franchise in the 2000s. Oyo, meanwhile, played Vic's son from the original TV series Okay Ka, Fairy Ko to its spinoff movies.

"To Daddy Vic, thank you for choosing me to be your 'Faye' in Enteng Kabisote… buti nalang madami dami at mahaba haba ding taon yun dahil ilang taon ang warm up namin ni Oyo para sa simpleng lunch break at kwentuhan lang sa set.."

Kristine then thanked Oyo's mother, acclaimed actress Dina Bonnevie: "Mama Di, for calling me 'that day' and pulling me back to my senses…"

Also Oyo's eldest sister Danica Sotto-Pingris "for reaching out and even visiting me sa house in [Loyola Grand Villas] LGV despite of not really having a good start on our currently 'solid' sister relationship."

Kristine's list went on: "Ate Bun, who may not know it even now but you somehow messaged me on New Year’s with some encouraging words when Oyo and I aren’t in speaking terms and ready to let go of everything we had, kasi nga gulong gulo pa kami at di pa namin mafigure out kung ano ba talaga kami sa isat isa…

"Ate Michelle, for witnessing first hand the 'kilig, fun & dramahan' moments —-and my ever present friend Amanda, for obviously almost always being present in all my life’s events.

"To all our other friends/family who have been with us through those years simply watching our roller coaster love story and the ones who stayed with us until now, we will forever cherish our moments together."

Kristine went back to celebrating with Oyo to end her caption: "Cheers to eternity my love! Happy birth-sary my Oyo!!! She also used the hashtag #12yearsmarriedandcounting.

For his part, Oyo, who had earlier celebrated his birthday, simply captioned his own post this way: 39.12 I thank God for you everyday, the love of my life, Kristine. Happy anniversary!"
