Liam Gallagher has deleted a series of tweets in which he used slurs generally used against disabled people.

The Oasis star was posting messages during the England versus USA World Cup match on Friday night, which ended in a nil-all draw.

Gallagher clearly grew frustrated during the match, and sent out a series of explicit tweets, including two in which he used ableist slurs.

In one, the musician described England football manager Gareth Southgate as a ‘m*ng,’ a word derived from the word ‘mongoloid,’ historically used as a vile insult towards people with Down’s Syndrome.

Another tweet saw Gallagher seemingly respond to people who had taken issue with the musician’s use of the word.

He wrote: ‘F*** you woke sp*stics.’

Minutes later, still angrily tweeting about the match, Gallagher wrote: ‘Even that scouse div with the s*** dreads get him on,’ seemingly referring to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gallagher has since appeared to have deleted all the offensive tweets in question, though screenshots remain and have been circulating on Twitter.

Fans’ replies to the messages from Friday night also remain visible, with one furious follower throwing insults of his own to the musician for ‘using outdated terms for disabilities to insult footballers.’

One man who said his son has cerebral palsy wrote to Gallagher and angrily described him as a ‘washed up has been,’ while another said his words were ‘absolutely disgusting.’

Gallagher was not alone in blasting England’s performance, however others avoided using slurs in their analysis.

Gary Lineker branded the team’s performance ‘poor’ while broadcaster Morgan pleaded with manager Southgate to ‘do something’ as the game fell apart.

Former Good Morning Britain host Morgan, not mincing his words, said England’s performance was ‘crap.’

Earlier this week Gallagher made headlines when he voiced his anger that former Health Secretary and Conservative MP Matt Hancock is still in the jungle, following the departure of comedian Babatúndé Aléshé.

He wrote: ‘F*ck off love baba Tunde can’t live in a world where Tw*t Hancock still pulling the wool.’
