Kind of interesting this was released around the same time as Current 93 Dogs Blood Rising and has the same back cover layout of the four pictures. Just a coincidence or is there a connection?

I bought this tape direct from the label. Far from being ‘an official reissue’ it was simply the Lie bootleg recorded onto a TDK C60 cassette - you could even hear the crackle of the vinyl at the start of each side of the tape. And it sounded crap into the bargain.

In addition, there was around 10/15 minutes of dead tape on each side after the tracks finish. Finally, the insert offers no information at all about the recordings consisting merely of a picture of Peter Kurten and the album title on a one sided J card.

The shoddy nature of the whole release means that it’s extremely easy to make duplicates and pass them off as originals.

I accidentally bought this for $5 (I thought it was the reissue) at my local record store. Fun times, although I'd recommend checking out Lucifer Rising instead if you want some actually good Manson Family-related jams. That record is awesome. This is... well, 'Look At Your Game, Girl' is pretty good, at least.

Anyways... I've heard that only 300 copies sold initially, but enough of these are circulating out there that I don't think the other 1,700 were tossed, and a lot of people seem to have dealt with sealed or otherwise quite clean copies. Hell, the one I found for $5 looked like i had been in shrink for quite awhile due to the sleeve generally looking pretty clean (hence why I thought it was the repress). So... did somebody just find where those 1,700 copies were stored years later and sell them off when the stigma of buying a Manson record had waned a bit? Was the "only 300 copies sold" thing false? Does anybody know anything about the distribution of this release in those terms? Enough copies that were barely circulated have shown up that I suspect that many of these hadn't been sold and were merely being stored, and that somebody at some point probably quietly sold/distributed them. Any thoughts?

Since many people have handled OG copies over the years (some of them sealed, judging by the sales history), has anyone for a fact ever seen the so called inmate signature poster inside a copy? I've never seen a copy for sale with the poster, and we can only make assumptions for the sealed ones. Maybe the poster was an one-off, sent along one or a dozen promo copies?

pretty great sound quality for a bootleg, although it wasn't recorded very crisp to begin with. So maybe the imperfections are hidden. spent 20 dollars on a copy from YHJP last year, a steal.

My listening of this press is very similar to comments on the 87 reissue. Side A kind of noisy, Side B a bit better. It fits the music though I think.
