The Mary Jo Pehl Show streams once a month, as does Movie Jo Night, an unscripted, unrehearsed, and unbefore-seen (by me!) online movie watching party. Join the CLUBHOUSE for both!

A writer on Mystery Science Theater 3000, and featured as the beloved arch-nemesis Pearl Forrester, Mary Jo Pehl is, of course, best known for being a crossword puzzle clue in a national magazine.

Mary Jo currently teams with MST3K alum Bridget Nelson for their hilarious movie commentary on RiffTrax. She stars in the web series Ruth Larson Lives!, and co-created the pilots for RenFest and  America Obscurious.

She’s opened for Patton Oswalt, Jackie Kashian and Laurie Kilmartin, and has been featured at comedy and theater festivals with her standup comedy and her show One Across: My Life As a Former Crossword Puzzle Clue, including San Francisco SketchFest, Austin’s FronteraFest, and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Mary Jo was a producer, writer, and performer with Cinematic Titanic, a live theatrical version of MST3K that played to sold-out audiences across the country. She’s also been featured on Hidden America with Jonah Ray and Maria Bamford’s Lady Dynamite. Wired magazine named Mary Jo one of the top 100 geeks to follow on Twitter, and ToplessRobot.com called her Pearl Forrester one the Top Ten Delightfully Hammy Villain Performances.

She has written for magazines and websites, and contributed to several anthologies. Her commentaries have aired on NPR’s All Things Considered, and she has appeared live with the Mortified show and been featured on its podcast.
