Lia Mortensen Obituary

A light has gone out! Lia DuBarry Mortensen departed this earth June 7, from lung cancer, a week before her 58th birthday. She was an acclaimed Chicago actor of stage, screen and television. Lia was passionate about running and ran the Chicago Marathon on several occasions. She was cherished by many as a gracious hostess, exquisite cook, sparkling party guest, intuitive friend and loving mother of Jesse and Lily. She was the daughter of and crossword puzzler with her mother, Beverly. She is survived by her daughters: Jesse and Lily Osborne, siblings: Karl and Liz Mortensen, Julie and Shawn Glanville, Mother Bev and six nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday June 14, 2023 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Pope John XXIII (St. Nicholas), 806 Ridge Ave, Evanston, IL 60202. A memorial service will occur at the Den Theater in Chicago on July 21, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Entertainment Community Fund at entertainmentcommunity.org or Gilda's Club Chicago at gildasclubchicago.org. Fly on, Tough Tiny!
