DMACC offers a variety of programs, including associate degrees, diploma programs, certificate programs, and continuing education courses. The college covers a wide range of fields such as business, healthcare, technology, arts and sciences, and more. Moreover, DMACC provides flexible learning options, including online courses, hybrid courses (combining online and in-person instruction), evening classes, and weekend classes. This allows students to pursue their education while balancing other commitments. Beside that, the college offers various support services to students, including academic advising, career counseling, tutoring centers, disability services, and student organizations.
I was an international student at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). I was drawn to the college in the first place by how affordable it is. I did not know what to expect regarding the academics and the student-teacher relationship. After my first week on campus, I knew I was in for a great learning experience. Coming from a different educational system, I was shocked by how much my professors cared about learning. So many opportunities were readily available to improve my understanding of each of my classes outside of the class. I wish DMACC had my four-year program so I could finish it there. If you are an international student, DMACC is the right place to start as you try to adapt to the U.S. educational system and culture.
Loved my first year. I liked making new friends, my professors were good, and the classes were pretty good too. Better organization for clinical sites.
