Fiance wanted to do a 2.5 star but I really didn't think it was that bad. Sometimes you get what you paid for and I think we paid $88 for a night stay. It's a 2-5 minute drive to the downtown wharf. We did notice our TV wasn't working and had to call the front desk. There was a chord that has been unplugged and the lady at the front desk was nice but couldn't fix it. Fiance ended up plugging it in and fixing. The tile seems to be not that fancy or nice but I think it's fine. It comes with a fridge and a freezer that isn't super cold and even a microwave which seems rare these days. We chose a king size bed which is fine and an AC which works. No other issues

Service was fine hotel is only ok, for the price it was good. We were traveling on a budget. Probably wont stay again its definitely old and warn but there is a great attempt at keeping it clean nothing is dirty. Location seemed ok free parking. fridgeworked first night second day I opened to get kids milk and it smelled awful and was hit with heat. There was a microwave. The outside was well maintained and not far from downtown and all the attractions. No top lock my 3 year old opened the door even with secondary lock on so traveling with young kids you do want to be careful.

Stayed here for a short night due to the location, needed to get somewhere very early next morning. Room was decent, bed comfortable, location is good. WiFi worked pretty good, even being in the furthest room away.

I wish I could give negative stars. After being here for 5 minutes I realized that this place is a huge dump. The floors are fake wood and sticky, the bathroom door has clearly never been cleaned because there was shaving cream on it and it was dusty beyond belief. The tub itself has water stains and rust stains. The shower head has water stains proving it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. The microwave in the room doesn't work, the fridge isn't very cold and my food went bad anyway. The TV doesn't work. The water smells moldy indicating that the pipes are super old and in need of replacement. The staff is lazy and doesn't clean, doesn't care, doesn't respond. The bed appears to not have been changed out and when I requested new sheets nobody brought the sheets.there were no cups in the room and coffee and tea aren't provided like they said it would be. Over all my stay was horrible and I highly recommend not staying here. It is a huge waste of money and time. Had to find a new place after one night out of a week stay. Absolutely a horrible place.…

This place was terrible. There was hair and multiple stains on the beds, hair in the bathroom, and gross things on the floor. There was some sort of gum or mystery glob on the floor next to the bed. When I asked for clean sheets, a staff member handed me more sheets that were still covered in hair and stains, and they didn't attempt to help remake the beds. When I asked if they could re-clean the room, they just swept it a little and that was it. Do not waste your money. Sleeping in someone else's hair and someone else's gross stains is disgusting. Sleep in your car instead.

An older motel that has been kept in very good shape. Clean, quiet, great price. Basic amenities of fridge, microwave and satellite TV. The free Wifi was a little slow and balky at certain times of the day, but basically OK. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. 24 hour coffee in the lobby, lobby service available 24/7

We had a one night stay here and it met our needs perfectly! Spacious room, hot shower, comfy bed, parking and good wifi. Check-in was easy, and we had no issues at all. The shower was super powerful though, so don’t leave anything in the bathroom that you don’t want to get wet!

We booked this due to online reviews but were not real impressed. The bed was comfortable but the room smelled of smoke (there was a large ashtray just outside our door and a constant gathering of "smokers") so we kept the (noisy) a/c on in an attempt to clear the smell. The room was clean - except for a bar of "used" soap in the shower - however the furnishings and bedspread could all use updating. We never used the microwave and the refrigerator is behind a cabinet door (that should have been hinged on the opposite side) making it awkward to open. We did see some "silverfish" on the floor as were as we were packing to come home ... Don't think we'll be returning ...

I am giving it 2 out of 5 because the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the shower was good. However it was on a very busy road, which made it difficult to sleep. The room smelled strongly of a disinfectant cleaning solution when we arrived. It was difficult to ventilate the room, especially since the fan in the bathroom was not working. The TV was not working either. I tried to alert the staff to these problems and get them fixed, but nobody ever answered the bell in reception. I booked the hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews, but found i did not agree with them. I was surprised it got such a good rating, especially for being "reasonably priced." I did not think it was reasonably priced at $150 a night, but maybe Monterey is very overpriced now.

booked a 1 room with 2 beds for 4 people a week in advance on their home website. showed up and was told they were out of 1 room 2 bed, so they sent me to sister hotel and said it was closer to everything so i went. When I got there it was actually 15 minutes further away from where we just were. So i called and said that this was unacceptable and request for 2 rooms if they didn't have our 1 room. was told "OK, and there wont be any extra charge". So we went back and then I was told that she never said that to me but they now magically had our 1 room 2 bed free. So we took it and the room was terrible, the smoke detector kept beeping and the beds were not queen size like the website said. Overall this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Motel 6 is better by far.

Safe. 5 minutes to beach. Better beaches with parking, portapotties, good sand, and fewer people extend to Sand City.
Find a website that offers sub $45 weekday rates.
