Cindy Mizelle is one of the most sought-after session singers in the industry. That makes her a singer’s singer, so it's no surprise she'd have vocal skills beyond compare. And her self-titled CD, released on EastWest Records in 1994, certainly proves that.

Ms. Mizelle brings her listeners into a musical world where the joy and the pain of love intermingle -- from giddy anticipation ("Imagination") to the sad reality that love sometimes just ends ("I've Had Enough"). The songs are easy to listen to -- written by luminaries such as Denise Rich, Brian McKnight, Gerald Levert, and others, including the artist herself. Vocally, Ms. Mizelle is tough to top. Her voice is brilliant -- from quiet, sweet, almost subdued -- to big and powerful -- and many beautiful places in between. And you won’t find any vocal acrobatics here. Not needed, this is the real thing. Oh yeah ...

The single offered from this set, “I’ve Had Enough,” played on the radio very late one September night in 1994. I remember it so well. When the DJ failed to identify the artist, I got out of bed, fumbling for the phone and called the station. "WHO is THAT?" When told “Cindy Mizelle,” I recognized her as one of Luther Vandross’ phenom stage mates (and instantly declared myself her biggest fan - still am). While this CD was released at a time I personally feel music was beginning a painful descent into an abyss of mediocrity, _CM_ was, and still is, a breath of fresh air.
