Biography

Sonia Rosemary (Keppel) Cubitt was born on 24 May 1900 in London, England, daughter of George Keppel and Alice Frederica (Edmonstone) Keppel.

Sonia's birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1900 in the Marylebone district.[1]

Sonia married Roland Calvert Cubitt on 16 Nov 1920 in Wellington, London. Their children were:

  1. Hon Rosalind Maud (Cubitt) Shand
  2. Henry Edward Cubitt
  3. Hon Jeremy John Cubitt.

Sonia died on 16 Aug 1986 in England aged 86.


Sonia Rosemary Cubitt, OBE, DStJ (née Keppel; 24 May 1900 – 16 August 1986) was the first wife of Roland Cubitt, 3rd Baron Ashcombe and, through her only daughter the Hon. Rosalind Maud Cubitt, maternal grandmother of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Keppel-100 and Keppel-4 appear to represent the same person because: I was trying to compare & add Sonia Keppel (Keppel-4) as a spouse to Roland Cubitt (already a proposed merge) but appeared to have created a new profile. This was not my intention and I apologise for this. I would be grateful if Keppel-100 and Keppel-4 could be merged as they are the same person by (mistaken) intent
