Eternal While
It Lasts

'For I am your gig, and you are my theatre'. A poetic animated exploration of love needs to be looked after daily as a plant. Love is a constant work in progress; It is a process, not a result. Meanwhile, the most important thing is to cherish the here and now, don't worry too much about things that haven't happened or might happen.

Our team consists of five people. Lucia Morciano works as words; Zixiao Gong works as a sound and music designer; Emily Anne Thornton works as a voiceover; Meng Lu works as a 3D designer, and I work as director, animator and editor. Our film is named Eternal While It Lasts, A poetic animated exploration of love that needs to be looked after daily as a plant. Through the animation, I want to express that love is a constant work in progress;

The film combines the abstract and figurative picture to express a kind of relationship between the lovers. I used watercolour style to increase the sense of a Romantic and dreamy feel. Try to use abstracts imagine conveying the character's emotion. Hoping the audience can immerse themselves in this romantic, relaxed relationship. Enlightening some people put aside their redundant concerns, brave to pursue their love.

I was inspired by the self-reflection of my own love experience. In pursuing our own love happiness, we always want to know the secret and how to maintain the happiness in hand, until forever. So, I asked Lucia who is the poet of the animation. She has been in a beautiful, romantic relationship for 16 years; I ask her what made it work and look "eternal" she has put some of her conclusions in this poem written for me.

Lucia seems to have given me the answer, but it doesn't seem to be. But through this process, I understand that there is no secret here to last forever; this relationship must be nurtured like plants every day for it to last. It is a process, not a result. Meanwhile, the most important thing is to cherish here and now, don't worry too much about things that haven't happened or might happen.
