Is it normal for someone to not say thank you for little things (picking things up, keeping the door open, not holding it, etc) but to say thanks for big things (teaching them stuff, big favours)?

Is this a red flag or are there just some people who don't bother saying thank you for little things that aren't necessarily bad people?
