Ongoing History Daily: Mumford & Sons facts

Here are a few things you need to know about the individual members of Mumford & Sons:

(1) Marcus Mumford’s introduction to roots music began when his older brother gave him a mixtape of bluegrass music.  At the time, he was playing drums in a free-jazz band called Détente;

(2) Ben Lovett used to be a massive fan of both Slipknot and the Deftones.  He still is, but he’s toned that down;

(3) Still with Ben, never meet him with peanut butter on your breath.  He’s terribly allergic.

(4) Ted Dwane was once in a band called SexFace.

And (5) Winston Marshall used to have a full head of dreads.  When he cut them all off, he put them in a bag and keeps them under his bed at home.  Why?  No idea.
