2024 DRAFT MASTER PLAN		The public is invited to review the draft Master Plan and submit comments in writing by June 10, 2024.

A master plan is the keystone of a municipal land use planning program. It provides the framework of a vision of how land use in the municipality should occur over the next 10 to 20 years and can guide zoning decisions related to land use, rezoning, economic development and the need for planning and new development within residential, commercial and industrial areas.

The draft Master Plan was created by the Bay City Planning Commission under the authority of the Michigan Planning Act, Public Act 33, 2008, as amended, to serve as the primary tool for guiding the physical development of the City.

While a master plan does not necessarily provide answers to all of the questions, it is a document that describes the history, current state, and future vision for the community. It acts as a road map to guide future growth and development while promoting the health, safety and general welfare of the people. It is required to be updated a minimum of every five (5) years.

Survey is Now Closed: Deadline was April 29th.
The survey is one way to allow residents the opportunity to provide input into the process.
 The Planning Commission wants to know what type of development the residents would like and where this development should occur. Several questions are specific while others are more general in addressing a variety of topics usually associated with future community planning. The City of Bay City greatly appreciates your comments and time in completing the survey.
