Resetting and recovering a Windows 10 tablet. - Microsoft Community

Resetting and recovering a Windows 10 tablet.

Hello,

I own an Asus vivotab note 8.

I've been having a lot of issues with my tablet, and I want to reset it. I tried to use the built in recovery tool, but for some reason the tablet doesn't recognize the recovery sd-card.

Is there an option to perform the recovery or reinstall Windows 10 without using the sd-card?

I contacted Asus support, but unfortunately their solutions weren't helpful.

Appreciate your assistance.

Best,

Answer
Hi Rolator,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing currently. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I would rather suggest you to perform a repair in-place upgrade on the current operating system, this will just fixes/ repairs the issues with any corrupted system files and will not restore any lost data prior to this.

In-place upgrade is to repair the current state of your operating system. Also, the issues with built-in apps on Windows 10 would be fixed when you perform the repair.

Refer: How to: perform a repair upgrade using the Windows 10 ISO file by Andre Da Costa and check if it helps.

Hope the information helps. Keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.
