BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — This weeks spotlight is Monte Montgomery. However, to Host Katie Varga he is her Grandpa or as she calls him, Papa.
“He is so supportive, strong, hard working, and always looking out for others.” said Varga.
She explained that some of her favorite memories with him was when he would take her and her siblings to get donuts at the local grocery store donut shop.
Varga then told a story about a winter coat he gave her, “Before I was coming up to North Dakota, he was very concerned and he’d always send me updates like, ‘Just so you know, this is how cold it is!'”, Varga continued, “He actually took one of the coats out of his closet and he said, ‘Katie, I need you to take this coat up there with you.’ And it’s the warmest coat I have and it is the one I use for the winter here.”
