My experience at East Greenwich High School has been significantly helpful. The overall community bond between students has grown over the past couple years and therefore has shifted into the student-staff relationships. Staff members at East Greenwich High School are highly engaged and truly want their students to succeed with not only their class but overall as well. Teachers are encouraged to work together to understand each other's assessment schedule to provide the least amount of stress as possible. They also create a comfortable, safe environment for their students to achieve not only academic but personal goals as well. EGHS is ranked very high within the state which tracks because I have loved my 4 years at East Greenwich High School and truly appreciate my experience here.
East Greenwich High School is located within a very wealthy area, and it shows. Many of the facilities are modern and up to date. The school emphasizes college readiness extensively. However, if you do not fit the mold of "average rich kid" you will not do well at this school. The administration is awful and incompetent. They do not care about you if you do not fit their mold. The sports are okay but nothing special. Overall, if you want a place to get a good education and thats it, feel free to go to school here. But anything more then that and the school lags.
Overall, a good school. I moved to EGHS from the Warwick Public School System and, if you live in RI, you know just how huge of an improvement EG is over Warwick.
The academics at EGHS are nothing to sneeze at. They have no shortage of AP and Honors level classes, and I could take almost every AP course I wanted to. However, while EGHS excels at academics, it's severely lacking in most other categories. For example, and most notably, the facilities. The facilities and the physical school building are literally falling apart. During any prolonged rain, the ceiling leaks water into the hallways and, instead of fixing the problem, the school opts to put trashcans under the leaks to collect the water. The school also recently splurged a new security system (Even though security has never been an issue during my last 4 years attending the school) instead of putting the money used for this project to where it's actually needed: The school building itself and the facilities.
