- 1st movement of a major violin concerto with piano accompaniment. Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number.

1st Round, with piano accompaniment. To be performed over two days. On Day 1, the jury will be behind screen, and be able to only listen to the contestants. On Day 2, the jury will be able to both view and listen to the contestants. At no time in 1st Round will the jury have access to the contestants’ biographies.
1st Round, Day 1, solo performance time is 15 min: Put together a program based on the choices below and perform solo:
- Bach, J.S.: Solo piece. Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number, and movement(s).
- Any contrasting solo piece. Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number and movement(s). For example Paganini, Wieniawski, Ernst, Ysaye, etc.
1st Round, Day 2, with piano accompaniment, performance time is 15 min: Choose and perform in the following order:
- Beethoven, L.v.: Choose a slow movement. Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number and movement(s).
- A virtuosic piece. Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number and movement(s).
2nd Round, with piano accompaniment, performance time is 30 min: Put together a program based on the choices below.

- Free 25 minutes program of your own choice (program can include both solo performances and performances with piano accompaniment). Please indicate composer name, title of work, opus number and movement(s).
3rd Round, with orchestra, performed from memory:

- Playing around Nielsen. Be creative!
Create your personal collage by PLAYING AROUND NIELSEN. Create and perform a collage for clarinet alone, 8-10 minutes long, from music by Carl Nielsen choosing from List A, and one or more solo pieces chosen from List B. The result should be a creative dialogue between music from list A and B:

- Use as much as you want from the list of specific excerpts, tunes, melodies by Nielsen (list A), and put it creatively into context with one or several solo pieces from list B. Quotes and excerpts from other pieces from list B are also allowed.
- The goal is to show a variety of sounds, colors and expressions of the clarinet, and your own idea of creativity and idea about structure.
- Divide the time between the music from List A and List B 50/50, approximately.
- Include a title for your collage.
- Include a printed version for the jury.
