Great prices for great shows. A gorgeous theatre with excellent talent. A variety of shows to appeal to all ages and interests. I always love checking out their lineup. Not a bad seat in the house.

Last Friday, my wife and I enjoyed a Jack DeKeyzer Concert. We noticed that many structural improvements had been made, since the Theatre had been closed, due to the Covid Restrictions. There is now a large lounge where you can have a drink, while waiting for the start of the show. The washrooms have been modernized and expanded. There are many great shows being planned now and I encourage you to check out the New Capitol Theatre. By the way, Jack and his Band put on their usual, great performance! 😎🎶

First time visiting and we will be back! The seats are comfortable no matter where you sit and the show we saw was terrific! The box office staff were so accommodating. We had the wrong date on our tickets, so they gave us the same seats for no charge!! Who does that these days? Good thing the show wasn't fully booked. You can get snacks and drinks as well. It really is a lovely small theatre!

Firstly, thank you Erin for helping with my seats!!! They were perfect. You are so lovely. A real gem! It's a smaller theatre, really no bad seats. And ample leg room... like no other theatre I've been to. Seating spaced out for social distancing. The staff here were all kind, personable and helpful. The production was cute & charming. You could see all the actors gave it their all. We laughed several times... Oscar Wilde is witty. And the set change/dancing was fun. Not Broadway, not Mirvish theatre yet still a fun & enjoyable evening.

The Capitol Arts Centre is such a Gem of Port Hope. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen many amazing performances at this theatre throughout my life. Every year as tradition I love to see the Capitol Christmas trees. The recent renovations look fabulous! Staff and volunteers are super friendly with guests. Recently watched the Nutcracker on screen, what a lovely night out. Highly recommend checking out this beautiful theatre. Star lit ceiling is beautiful with a Little Dipper too.

Great local theater, if you have a chance to see a show you are even slightly interested in go for it. They do an excellent job and you cannot beat the reasonable prices. Plus lots of nice places to eat around the park and water before or after. Lucky to have this gem outside of Toronto

This a nice small and very comfortable theatre. Almost every seat delivers a great view of the stage with good accoustics. If you are ever in Port Hope, you must check it out. We saw 9to 5 and the production was amazing. Great sound, choreography and acting!

This lovely little theater was AWESOME, and in Port Hope of all places! The Prairie nurses play we saw was really GOOD! I would love to go back and see another production. There were two productions going on at the same time, too. That is AMAZING in itself; two shows under the same venue. FANTASTIC!!

My group saw the naughty version of Jack in the Beanstalk, and it was fantastic!! The singing, jokes, costumes and acting was excellent!! The theatre its self was beautiful, and decorated with at least a hundred bedecked Christmas trees and wreaths you could enter to win. The only disappointing part of the whole experience were the two drunks behind us that were extremely loud, I had to cover my ears. They kept shouting out to the cast, and generally causing a show of their own. When we got up to leave three of my friends discovered that they had beer spilled over their coats. There should be some kind of security for this.

We were visiting from Toronto and saw the Little Shop of Horrors play. It was Amazing! We loved it. We enjoy the movie so were in luck that it was playing the same time as our visit. The theatre is beautiful and staff were friendly. The production was excellent, thank you all.

Once we started seeing shows here, we were addicted. Great seats from anywhere in the theatre. Snacks and drinks are a little pricey though, but that seems typical these days.

Amazing and accessible. Very clean and lots of open space. The beach itself is clean with lots of space to drop a beach chair or towel. Public washrooms are available. Lots of paid parking on the side streets.

1 Hr Drive from Scarborough but worth it. Beautiful small city with old buildings and a beautiful, long beach. The park, beach is well maintained. The shallow warm water is perfect for kids to enjoy for long. Multiple parking lots, but still it can be difficult to get parking if you come late on a weekend. Parking is paid approx $1 per half hr. Splash pad for kids is really nice. A lot of tables available for family picnic. Clean washrooms.

Clean beach. Entrance is free. Parking is either $40 per day or $5/hour no limit. Watch where you are parking, there are some streets reserved for residents only. There are 2 splash pad areas, playgrounds, bathrooms. Water in August has been amazing!

the beach is a beautiful Sandy Beach the water is also Sandy to walk on. you can walk out quite a bit. the only thing I didn't like is there's no change room or shower. but you could use the ladies and men's washroom.

Arrived at 9AM to secure parking and choose a good spot. Parking said $40 all day, however machine keeps adding more even after reaching $40. Beach is clean, sand felt fine and soft on the feet; the water was not too cold. There are 2 water parks and swings for children to enjoy. Tables by the park are available to use. Washroom was clean and well stocked, some sinks are out of service. Would have been better if there was a rinse area. There’s water filling station by the corner of washroom. Overall, one of the best beaches we’ve been too. Would come back next year when it’s warm.

Sand is soft. Doesn't hurt when you walk barefeet. I went at 9am on a rainy Saturday. Literally the only one on the beach. I hear that it's usually really busy. More people came at 10am. Beach is so clean. Picnic tables available just off the beach. Splash pad is great! My toddler loved it. Paid parking.

This is a beautiful spot for anyone to enjoy. There is a water park, park, cover picnic area, clean bathroom, restaurants, shopping, some food truck and sightseeing. You can always find a good spot to set up on the sand area. If you're looking to set-up in the shade area, you need to come earlier (9am or earlier). Parking can get expensive, and sometimes you have to park some distance. I would advise dropping off your load and anyone that can't walk far. After four at some spot parking is free. We have been here for July 1st and had a great time. Do remember to bring everything needed, to enjoy the beach and sun. If you stay till about 8pm, you can watch or hear the guy playing the Uilleann Pipes, by the water. 🪗

Nice and clean beach but no cooking allowed and parking is quit expensive. However, lots of food, restaurants are available nearby and also few food trucks are available at the beach (one of them is Halal too)

September 30, 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cobourg Beach, situated along the open beachfront between Victoria Park and Lake Ontario, offers a pristine and spacious environment. It's an ideal spot for intimate family gatherings, leisurely strolls in the sand, or allowing the kids to engage in some sandcastle construction. Paid parking is conveniently available, and during our visit, the beach was pleasantly uncrowded. Notably, there's a mat that stretches from the walkway near the water's edge, presumably to prevent sand from infiltrating your footwear. If the need arises for restroom facilities, you can easily access them at Victoria Park, which you'll pass through en route to the beachfront.

Visited in the evening, started snowing too. Great scenery and loved it. Quiet place and the lakeshores are so beautiful with the snow showers. Feels amazing. Great place for a valuable time spending with your loved ones

Beautiful well kept beach with many amenities such as playground, bathrooms, picnic tables and also a path to walk on the sand or take strollers closer to the water.

Beautiful, sandy beach. Clear and clean waters. Family-friendly environment. Considering there are many people, it did not feel crowded due to the large sandy space, and it is well-maintained and clean. For parents with strollers and wagons, there is a path in the middle that makes it easy to navigate wheeled equipments. There's a nice playground and splashpad available too. There are yachts on the other side, which makes for a nice walk. There are some restaurants nearby too. There are toilets available and ample of parking (although a little expensive).

Love the Marina and the Beach at Cobourg. The city is very clean; they clean every morning. The beach is clean and huge. We happened to be there on the day of the sandcastle competition. There are good places to eat around the beach. The Victoria Park is a fantastic location for picnic. No BBQ or cooking allowed. Bring cooked food and enjoy nature! I really appreciate the effort put in to make the beach accessible for wheel chairs, walkers, and strollers.

The beach area is large, the sand quality is very good, clean and delicate, very suitable for children to play. The lake water is also very clean, and there is no fishy smell in the wind blowing from the lake, making it a good place for leisure.

First time visiting the Canadian Canoe Muesum in Peterborough. I found it very informative and interactive. Lots of items to see and work with. Worth visiting the workshop as well. Any of the staff we talk to were quite helpful. Definitely take the time if you're ever in the area and go to the Muesum. You will not be disappointed! ☺👍☝☝

It's quite an amazing new facility that just opened on May 12, 2024. You can see the history of Canada through many of the old canoes.

Pretty niche museum but as a someone who does a lot of canoe camping it was cool to see how the technology and designs have developed over the years. There is also some great info on how Canoes were used commercially back in the day which we found interesting. We didnt know they still had a mask wearing policy. They gave kn95 masks to walk through which I know a lot of people dont like. Id consider bringing your own mask.

Never really knew that canoes had such a huge contribution to what we are today! Must visit this museum at least once. It's so informative, will definitely widen your perspective. The whole place is beautifully maintained with staff who have a very good knowledge on the subject. Each & every object has detailed information and explains the historical impact & importance. Being an immigrant myself, this place helped me gain so much knowledge about Canadian history. Definitely worth the time for people all ages. Their is also a memoir shop inside with things such as miniature canoes, books & magazines, collectables, t-shirts and so on. Price for an adult is $14 but you can avail a discount if you're a student. My friends definitely did. We paid $28 for the three of us. Totally worth it!

The fact that this museum was only about canoes and nothing else made it a kind of boring and after a while you have the feeling of already having seen everything already. On the other hand it's an awesome service to get in for free on thursdays and the souvenir shop has many things to offer! I think I actually spent more time in there than in the museum itself.

The Canadian Canoe Museum presents how indigenous peoples and their creation of canoes and kayaks allowed this country to be discovered, mapped, goods transported and communities built. The Hudson Bay company giant transport canoes were mind-boggling! The display on recreational canoeing (and sail canoes!) was great. It was and is a way to see this magnificent country from angles it could not otherwise be seen. The differing styles of dugout, birch bark and wooden strip & plank canoes and seal skin kayaks was amazing. I especially appreciated the extensive information on how different indigenous communities shaped them differently to suit the kind of water they were dealing with. It is also the story of the passion and vision of people who collected & preserved this important part of our history. The gift shop is also wonderful and I bought several gifts - and a comfy Canadian-made sweatshirt for myself. The volunteers were extremely helpful & COVID-19 protocols carefully observed. It was a wonderful outing for myself and my niece. She actually got married there a few years ago. I recommend it if you are in Peterborough.

The Canadian Canoe Museum is awesome! Anyone who has a love for canoeing will enjoy this museum. They have a very impressive collection of canoes. My favourites were Bill Mason's, Pierre Trudeau's, Gordon Lightfoot's, The royal family, and The Starkell's canoes! I will be returning for another visit once the museum moves to the new location on the river. The current building looks a little depressing from the outside but once you get inside you realize how amazing this place is. The only complaint I have is that while I was there, the Gordon Lightfoot plaque with the music wasn't working, so I couldn't hear what the song Canary Yellow Canoe sounds like. This song is hard to find because it is not on Youtube or Spotify or anywhere else on the internet and the only way to hear it is by buying the 4 CD box set that costs $55!. Hopefully they get the speakers fixed soon. When we arrived the person at the front desk gave us a great introduction and he was very excited to see us. We also had the whole museum to ourselves as we were the first to arrive all day. Other people did show up throughout the day. I hope you enjoy the museum as much as I did!

This is a great museum of canoes and kayaks. The self guided tour takes you through the history of these water crafts. There is a nice gift shop as well.

Amazing museum! The amount of information to learn is great for the avid learner while it can also be consumed in bite sized chunks if necessary. Highly recommend a stop here if visiting the Peterborough area or Southern Ontario.

This place is fantastic in the winter. The ice is great, lots of room for everyone to enjoy and its blocked from the wind as the ice is down in the waterway. The ice is maintained well and lots of parking around for everyone. Plan to visit next winter for sure.

More fun than I expected - pretty cool to see the locks in action, but just in general it's in a nice spot, plenty of green space, picnic tables, ample parking, and not too far removed from town. Definitely a good spot for a summer afternoon

We had a good time on the Lift Lock Cruise in Peterborough. Seeing the World's highest hydrolic lift lock was amazing. Being over a hundred years old and still working. Over 77ft lift up in total was epic to experience! Definitely recommend seeing this historical wonder of Canada 🇨🇦 👌 👍 😀

I have been there twice and it’s a must watch . Kids find it intriguing and love to watch the lifts going up and down. You can do picnic as well as watch boats.

Stopped here to visit this landmark on a road trip. The facility was closed for the season however the park was beautiful and we enjoyed a picnic. The waterway is impressive and we enjoyed walking around. The only thing missing were garbage cans anywhere in the park.

Well worth a visit even if only as a spectator and not "locking through". Quite a marvel of engineering considering it's age of over one hundred years. Some decent geocaching too if that's your thing...

Don't come to this area often enough but when I do I have a blast. Great area to visit and see how the locks work. It's amazing. I lucked in this trip and got to see about 60 kayakers taking a trip up the Trent.

What an experience! Must stick around for 30 min or so, so that you can see boats going up as well as coming down, and do do this from both levels. If you have more time then you can take the paid (no advance online booking possible) waterway and locks cruise.

It was my birthday and was an incredible experience, learning about the locks,how they work, the hydronic cylinders,and the system. My partner was right it was better than having balloons, flowers and just sitting blowing candles . It was the first time I have ever seen such a system. Best ever birthday !!

Amazing feat of construction. The Peterborough lift lock was completed in 1904 and is the worlds highest hydraulic lift lock. I recently participated in the lock and paddle ‘23. It was an awesome experience. The staff are super friendly. They answered all my ridiculous tourist questions. Lmao.

Pretty remarkable that this was built so many years ago and still operates today. Lots of people come from around the world to see it. There's a tunnel underneath that you can drive through and it's a must to blare your horn and accelerate as you pass through.

Over 100 years of history wrapped up in this mechanical marvel. Tallest lock in the WORLD!! The speed of the links is much faster than I expected and it's a great place to bring a picnic! GORGEOUS view from up top!!

The gentlemen who are operating the locks were amazing folks. They went out of their way to explain to us about how these locks operate. They also had little gifts for the children. Will definitely visit again. Such a beautiful location

What a great experience at the lock on Saturday. It's such a marvel! Almost 70 kayakers went through together as part of an event. The staff were so kind and also funny! They were very accommodating to us. Thanks for a great time!

What a great place to bring the kids and spend the day! Large open playground with a great selection of activities for all ages. Splash pad is small but lots of fun. The stroll along the woods to see the animals was amazing. the train ride was a bit further away but worth the walk. there is a small $2.00 fee There are mosquitoes neat the snack bar so have bug spray. plenty of picnic tables around to sit and lots of shade from the tall trees. There were washrooms all around and were very clean.

My kids loved it. There are quite a collection of animals and they looked really well taken care of. The area is clean and I would say kid friendly. The playground is really good as well as there’s an option from toddler to big kids to use. The kids enjoyed the splash pad as well. The kids love the train ride and the payment for the ticket is very affordable. You just need to go to the very end of the zoo to ride the train. There is a picnic area and a lot of free parking. There’s a washroom at the entrance of the zoo and at the end as well right pass the waste water treatment plant.

I still can't believe that the zoo was free! It has everything! Animals, craft area, snack shop, little train (that costs $4/adult), 2 playgrounds and a splash pad. If we lived in Peterborough, this would be our go to place. My kids when asked me to move to Peterborough purely because of this place!

This is such a cute place, small but interesting. Its also free, and you can make donations at your discretion. It's especially great if you have kids. There's a good park right next to it! They have cool animals like reindeer, camels, peacocks, and meerkats! But also more common animals like pigs, turkeys, tortoises, and snakes. It's definitely stroller or wagon friendly, and there's lots of parking. There isn't an incredible amount of walking to do, so if you want a nice short day out it's perfect.

Fantastic place, you can tell all the animals are so well looked after. Excited to watch the baby dwarf crocodiles grow up over the next while. Snack bar is now open as of Victoria day 2023 and has very fast service.

Beautifully maintained ground and adorable animals. Perfect for an afternoon visit. The canteen is delicious, just be patient with the staff. The train is too cute and honestly refreshing on a really hot day as you cross the water at some point. It’s worth the trip and please don’t forget to donate!

I've lived in Peterborough for over 4 years and I just went to the zoo for the first time this past weekend with my boyfriend. The zoo was very clean and there were lots of animals to see. It's completely free of charge to visit and there is free parking. There is a canteen to purchase snacks and refreshments and a train ride for "kids" that cost $2/ride. I went on it and it was a cute date. Also brought my nephew here with my mom and he had a blast.

This is a nice small zoo that all, including families with young children will enjoy. The parking is as is the entrance.

We loved our visit. Very well maintained and free! The landscaping is well done. A great place for a nice walk and the kids enjoyed seeing the animals. The train ride ($2 per person) is amazing - I highly recommend it.

Amazing time. I grew up nearby and I was so happy to be able to bring my own daughter and husband here 💓 we loved seeing the animals and learning about them. The splash pad and playground were great fun! The train ride broke after we waited close to an hour for it but that happens it was out of anyone's control we got a refund and didn't take away from the fun we had. Great place for kids and adults it can get hot and crowded so water and hats are helpful.

Amazing time at this free zoo..kids loved the camels, llamas, peacock, lynx etc. The splash pad was a hit and kids went crazy! A bit of a drive but such a well maintained zoo and a good spot for a laid back picnic and cheap train ride! Worth a visit with kids.

100% recommend! We visited here as family of 3 (with a 20month old toddler). Cannot believe this gem is for free. Lovely zoo, great splash pad, and a massive playground. There's a $2 fee for the train ride and such a wonderdul experience. We had a great day here and will definitely come back. The zoo has limited amount of animals but still great. Amazing experience for a free zoo! Even on a wintery day, we saw a python, camel, otters, monkeys, a giant tortoise, and so much more. The play ground is large and washrooms are available. It was small enough that it was easy to do with a toddler!

Awesome zoo. Animals are well taken care of. There's playgrounds hiking trail and open all year. It is also free.

My family and I went to the zoo with my grandson. I enjoyed the zoo, more than I thought I would. I was very impressed with the knowledge of the staff pertaining to the new bird to the zoo, who was still getting socialized.

This was a excellent zoo to go to with family! Free parking and free admission. They have a little train ride that is $2 per adult, kids under 2 are free. It took us about 3 hours to explore the zoo. Great shade area for lunch with a snack bar or bring your own lunch, and a splash pad. Highly recommend.

A fun place to spend a day near Peterborough. Entry is free and is open almost all days. There are not many animals to see but the train ride was awesome and kids enjoyed it. Splash pad was a nice touch to cool of the summer heat just before you head out from the zoo.

Seems quite popular and to a large extent for a reason. Got the apple bread (not their mumble crumble bread but their original one), the apple tart and the apple crumble pie. Not sure how these breads are supposed to be but I expect the flavour, the stuff, the sweetness to be throughout the bread but it’s not - definitely not. The bread is tough too. But this is not the only place which serves such fruit breads of similar quality, taste and texture. Makes me wonder if I am the one who needs to understand it better and acquire a taste for it. The apple tart was good - a pack of four cost around $9 (incl taxes) and it was worth it. One could taste the freshness of the filling including the apples. The apple crumble pie was good too - the crust was crispy and and lightly sweet, the filling was dense and sweet and, nice and “apple-y”. A small size pie (600g) cost around another $9, which made more sense for us than a single slice for $5.25. Would recommend visiting the place and we could also try some other stuff from there if we ever pass by.

My family stops here every single time we go to Ottawa.. best place ever to take a break! I love the candy store, it was a great place to take my nephew and also brought out our inner child seeing all our childhood candy. The petting zoo is also fantastic. Good variety of shot glasses for collectors. They also have a nice sign with all the distances on it — really cool. The main store has apple and cheese sausages - it’s a family favourite.

This is our required stop whenever we pass by. They have fresh baked apple goods as well as tons of other things that kids would love. Petting zoo, candy store, photo ops, large bakery, mini golf, food trucks and much more! They are open late as well!

Love to come here all the time! Great sampling and ciders. The pies are fresh and to die for amazing to say the least. Great people that work there as well. Thank you for a very well rounded experience will be back without a doubt. P.S. this is a great spot for tourists to visit as well if you have family or friends that are visiting it's a must.

I come to this place once a year with Family and/or friends. We like to buy “pasalubong” or something to give as a treat to our family and friends back to Toronto, Scarborough and Markham. Tons of parking, washrooms are available, small playground is available for kids during summer. There’s also Fish n chips restaurants beside it just incase you get there for lunch. Baked goods and pies are always freshly baked and delicious 😋 yum yum!! Must visit place!!!

Due to the epidemic, some areas are not open. Their apple pie is still so delicious! Their constant quality will be an important part of the brand's history. Another very unique view of the attraction - when you just drive out of the highway and enter the town, the first thing to greet you is a church cemetery. The area is very large, almost the whole road from the time you entered the town to the big apple attraction, full of cemeteries and tombstones. If the annual Halloween special event is held here every year, amazing@(・●・)@

What a lovely place for kids and family! Just about an hour and half drive from Toronto - this beautiful farm has everything apple! From a giant big Apple to click pictures with to tasty treats. Must try- the Apple cheesecake bar! Also the animal petting farm and the collectibles store here is amazing! Definitely a great weekend visit!

Nice place to buy apple pies and lot of delicacy. We bought Sparkling Apple cider, crullers and turnovers. I love the turnovers and apple cider. Both are delicious. There is a nice open view of the staff preparing Apple pies. Awesome. Lot of attractions around the park with a big Apple smiley, farmers market with fresh natural goods, rides for children, fish and chips, souvenir shops etc. Best place to stop and relax on 401 highway.

Very nice place with lots to do and lots to buy.Wide variety of products,organized and displayed well. These items are baked on site and bakers are visible. There are activities for kids and adults. You can get food in the restaurant,a bar,sweets,and extensive apple products.

Used to cross this big apple while driving towards west from Toronto. This is the first time we got the opportunity to explore this. I haven't realized how interesting it is. They build the place thoughtfully. We enjoyed all activities and different food. Their vegetable pie is the best one in my life.

We had a fantastic time. Wish we could've stayed longer. So many varieties of food to choose from. Great souvenir shops and desserts are so good. You have to come and try them. Worth visiting! Great for pit stop!

Whether on the way to Toronto or heading back, I always make a point to stop by this place. It's such a delightful spot to spend some time. My go-to treats are the apple bread and the cherry cruller, but honestly, everything they serve is fantastic. It's definitely a must-visit spot.

I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was one of the worst I ever had. On the other hand, my daughters had the grilled cheese, whit apple bread and it was great ! The fries looks good , but not the kind I like, they where too big, and dry inside. I would recommend asking for a bit more golden fries, and don’t thane the pulled pork!

Such a great place to stop while traveling! They make some of the best apple pies I’ve ever had! Plus they have so much you can do, which makes it a great place to take a break and stretch your legs. They have mini golf, a petting zoo, you can watch them make the pies, a small pub and ice cream, gift shops and so much more! I recommend it to any friends or family driving near by!

The Big Apple doesn't disappoint :) There are a lot of 'apple' options like pie, strudel, cider and a ton more. Moreover, the smokehouse fills the area with a satisfying smell. Looks like over a few thousand products to shop and there is also a garden decor boutique. Lots of fune for everyone.

Fun road side stop. Great cider, pie, butter tarts and much much more. An Ontario classic. Also one of the finest bathrooms in Canada. 🍁 🇨🇦 🍎

Interesting and fun market to visit for locals and tourists. Lots of variety of food, but mostly guilty pleasures (pie, pizza, candy, beavertail, donut, chocolate, maple treats, etc.). The big apple has an observation deck at the top. I'll be sure to visit again in the future. They have free level 2 EV chargers.

A fantastic stop along the 401 highway! The shop offers freshly baked apple pie and a delightful array of pastries and other delicious treats. A must-visit for a quick and tasty break during your journey.

I visited The Big Apple after almost 30 years while on my to eastern Ontario. I remember them having the best apple pies amongst other menu items. But I did not anticipate the sheer options they had. The Christmas decorations inside had been set up and the experience was that of being transported to a Christmas market wonderland. Took a while to take in all the various displays. I ended up grabbing some fresh maple syrup and apple crumble, but I will be back for sure ( to take in the Christmas market and other activities). Even after all these years the food quality has only gotten better. I strongly recommend anyone heading along the 401 to take sometime and stop in. You won't be disappointed. Even if you don't have a trip planned its only a 1.5 hour drive from Toronto and well worth the visit.

It’s a nice place to stop by. Big Apple is super cute and you can click pics with it. Kids love it too. There are orchards where you can go Apple picking in Apple season. Otherwise also the place is open all year long so you can visit anytime

It's a great stopover during our winter road trip. The Big Apple appears to be open all-around season where in wintertime there is a lot of Christmas decor out plus a Christmas market. I enjoyed my time browsing through the country grocery store, where they sold more than just apple produce. There's fresh honeycombs, baked goods, toffee and other farm produce sold fresh here. At that time we also got a free box of honey candies with our purchase during a winter sale. The raw honeycomb tasted awesome! Prices vary depending on what you're buying. There are restrooms available, and a factory section where you can watch bakers create the apple baked goods like pie from scratch. I definitely want to visit this place again, during the summer and recommend this place to anyone on the highway passing. The Big Apple is an open and welcoming place to customers of all ages and very family friendly too!

Great spot to stop on a roadie. The treat shoppe within is an excellent stop for some gummies and they have halal ones there as well. There also a store with lots of pies and tarts and other delicious items. There is also windows to peek through to see the magic. There is also a restaurant with some food items and a petting zoo for the children. All in all a good spot.

Worth a visit and a great pitsstop on the 401 East. Ample parking space. Lots of activities to do for kids. Good Food options inside and also in the food trucks that were present outside. They have so many varieties of desserts and bakery items. Very hard to resist. Priced nominally. There is a mini golf course which even adults can play, some rides for the kids and a petting zoo as well. A great spot for a summer weekend.

Nice Park. Nice enough beach.can walk out far. Smaller and quieter than some of the other provincial parks. Liked the Marsh boardwalk..saw some animals. Just wish there were some kayak rentals..Good for trails and a less crowded beach.

It's a nice place to visit. Lots of over ight camping spots, near the lighthouse there are lots of available same day picnicking spots. Lots of places to take pictures, there are plenty of bike trails, and hiking trails, there is a wonderful.boardwalk to get a glimpse of the local waterfowl and the amphibious wildlife. Please do not little, and hold onto all or any of your recyclables. Leave the park the way you came in. Respect nature. Enjoy the scenery!

A very good place for spending a day with family. Do not forget to visit "Park Center" and the light house. If you are a fan of cycling, this is the place for you. Very good beaches, but do not forget to have sun screens and off spray. Staff are friendly. Please do you best to keep the environment clean and do not leave any trash behind or do not cut tree branches etc. You can enjoy a beautiful sunset at the end of the day by the beach.

Had a wonderful day of biking and taking little walks through the park. Not all trails allow bikes. Leaves have turned more in some areas than others so it was visually a nice contrast. After my bike around the park, stopped and put my feet in the water. Surprisingly not too cold! Refreshing!

I've been going to this campsite for 10 years with my partner and it holds a special place in our hearts. He started going as a baby with his family! Lots of trails to walk, and expansive rock and sand beach areas to explore. We love the Elmvale section for both tent and tent trailer camping!

Love Presqu'ile Provincial Park for both camping and day use. We typically camp in High Bluffs to enjoy the waterfront sites and sunset views. Plenty of trails (shorter in length) and great spot for families and dogs. Bathroom/shower facilities are always clean.

The campground is quiet and peaceful with numerous of birds and squirrels. Sometimes turtles crossed the park road as well. The comfort station is always kept clean. There are some short trails to explore while visiting here. However the beaches are not well maintained. Sandbank is much better!

One of my favourite parks in eastern Ontario! By the lighthouse is absolutely gorgeous waters, so calm, and the trails were just phenomenal! I did one of the trails, just as the sun was starting to go down, and there was so much wildlife to see! I highly recommend, making sure to check out the entire park if you have the time!

Had a great time here! The views are beautiful and the park is really clean. This is a great camping spot not too far from Toronto. The hiking trails are well kept, and overall lots of fun. Views over the water are beautiful, so I would definitely recommend coming here. Don’t forget the bug spray!

Awesome family campground! So vast and amazing for walking along all the trails. The beach was also quite nice with a long accessible entrance pathway. Our fave was the boardwalk through the marsh into the woods to see the unique curved trees, boardwalk was the perfect length for my daughter. We truly loved how scenic and relaxing it was, benches to stop and sit along the path to rest. It is in new condition and safe. We will be back again soon! Not many options for food so be sure to pack a picnic. There are bbqs for grilling with picnic tables by the water. Making good use of our Ontario parks seasons pass this year. Enjoy! :)

Great place to spend one day or two hours! I would recommend starting with the Nature Centre and Lighthouse/Interpretative Centre, because they have some fun (albeit old) exhibits and very friendly staff on hand to provide you with suggestions and answer any questions. You can drive all the way to the tip of the park, which is convenient, but the road also makes it feel less natural as they take up so much space. So, if you’re looking for a more natural hiking environment this might not be the place for you; if you just want to relax and do some short, casual walks, this is a great place! The Marsh Boardwalk trail is not to be missed and late afternoon is a great time to do it for perfect lighting. The trail is very easy and quite short, with plenty of short, informative plaques along the way. The horse trees offer some interesting photo opportunities.

Love this park! Great all year long but we enjoy spring and autumn for the birds. We always do day trips and never been camping here or visited in the summer. But camp sites look nice and many right on the water. Lots of different trails to fit your desires. The point with the lighthouse is typically busy so we either go early in the morning or avoid it. We LOVE the board walk and 2 lookout towers.

This is lovely park, even in the winter! Was a lot quieter this time of year, but still a pretty nice place to go for a hike. Trails are easy for beginners, most are quite short so you could do multiple in one trip. Only downside is parking is very expensive, $21 for a day pass, and the fact that it is the same regardless of the season is really a bummer if you’re looking for a trail during the winter. I’ve been told you can park outside the park entrance and walk in, but that’d be a 45 min walk just along the side of the road into the first trail alone. Overall, if you’re looking for a big park with nice views and easy trails, this is a great option! I’d just recommend coming when you can actually make use of the additional park features considering the park fee (beach, camping, wildlife lookouts).

this is a must-go if you’re anywhere NEAR the area!! We drove up from Peterborough for the day and we’re so impressed with how huge the park is and how much there was to do. If you love boardwalks, beaches, nature trails, history and lighthouses, this is the place to go.

Great views on our site! It was extremely hot but the breeze off the water helped keep us nice and cool. Sites are moderate in size while being semi private but for the views you sacrifice a little in that department. The beach is MASSIVE and we had it all to ourselves early in the morning. Nice and sandy for the kids to play in. The more private beaches off the campsites are all rock. Not really the best for kids unless you bring water shoes with you. The park staff was friendly as always. We plan to return in future years. Note: comfort station wasn't very well maintained but it's camping so I don't typically expect much.

Nice park but not worth the 2-3 hour drives if you do not live nearby. The best part is the lake and a small island in the middle. Also do not forget to see the lighthouse. The lakeside view while a coffee at the restaurant near the lighthouse is a perfect relaxation point in the arms of nature.

What a lovely and underrated beach. We initially wanted to go to Sandbanks but it was full, so we decided to try the beach at Presqu'ile. One important thing to know is that you DO need to make reservation under "DVP" or Daily Vehicle Permit. I honestly loved this beach way more than Sandbanks anyway! The sand is not as soft, but the water is just amazing. I also recommend checking out the lighthouse. Not for the lighthouse itself, but the water around it...JUST BEAUTIFUL!!

Beautiful set overlooking the vineyard and farmlands. Food was good , I found the pizza dough dry and burnt it's seems like all the pizzas coming out were like that . It's probably the style they make. Wine at the restaurant can only be bought by the glass , bottles can only be bought in the store . Glasses range from $11 to $25 per glass. So if you are in a large group you can't share a bottle at the restaurant. Tasting area is up the hill. 4 wines( 6 wines to choose from) for $12 tasting. Unfortunately the area is outside and the wines are stored in Coolers with some ice and on hot days the wines are not cool enough for tastings. Staff are nice but disorganized ,lots of running around . Very busy on weekends so plan accordingly.

Wonderful service, they provide blankets if you need it. Deducted 2 stars for food quality, we ordered four pizza and oysters. The oysters were nice and fresh. However, the pizza did not taste as good as it smelled. I would say pizza pizza is better. One of us got the runs after dining in. Six of us joined the wine tasting but none of us were willing to buy any of those.

It’s a beautiful place. We had the wine tasting, pay $10 and taste 4 wines. You can get the $10 back as discount if you purchase wine on their shop, so I believe it’s a good deal. The pizza was tasty, and the service was helpful. Not 5 stars because they have a long wait line. So I recommend it if you have time and patience to wait. I think worth it

This is arguably one of the best pizza we've had. The crust is so thin and the topping was just right. Not overflowing but enough to satisfy the taste buds. Highly recommend you put some of the chilli paste available on the table on top of the pizza. The service was also very friendly and welcoming.

Great place to enjoy wine and pizza oven for lunch! The pizza coming out from the oven smells so good and the food are delicious. Especially the trout, the oysters and the funghi pizza, a must to try! The staff is nice too! Need to get there early to avoid waiting in line.

Incredible wine, food, and service! My family and I really enjoyed our visit to Norman Hardie. The pizzas were delicious and the wine tasting was amazing! Danny did a fantastic job, was really knowledgeable and kept it interesting. Highly recommend 👌

This venue looks very nice on arrival, lots going on here! Statue art area, vineyards, dining areas, tasting bars, and a retail space. A full tasting of 8 different products was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the "host" of the tasting was either having an off day or just not interested in the job. After pouring the sample and advising the name of the wine, he left on three occasions for a smoke break. Not engaging and shared no information about the wines. In general, the tasting experience was disappointing. First time ever having oysters, though, and these were a pleasantly tasty addition to the tasting! Many nice, local food products available in the retail shop as well.

Celebrated my Mom’s birthday with a large group. The restaurant staff were so kind and accommodating. The grounds are fully licensed so feel free to grab some wine and take in the amazing views and art. We ordered the oysters and pizzas and the food was delicious. Highly recommend visiting!

Great outdoor spot to grab a bite to eat. Pizza is good, wood fired. Get the pizza artigiano if your child or partner that eats like a child wants a pepperoni pizza. Salads are nice. Great balance on the dressing, tomatoes could have been a bit more ripe Wine is ok, a bit over priced. Service is always excellent here.

I did a wine limo tour with a Bachelorette party of 9 and this was a fun winery and a great stop for lunch. I was impressed that their wines are used in some Michelin star restaurants in the UK and Europe. We had lunch in the wine cellar, we had the chefs table menu which included 2 types of salad and pizza for $30pp, the food was fantastic. The winery was very crowded and a small area, we had to wait some time for our reserved table. Everyone in my party enjoyed the wine tasting here and all the staff were friendly.

Really good wine tasting experience. Some delicious kinds. The Pinot Grigio was the highlight along with a cool dining area and wood oven pizza!

Great wine. Tasting the eight different wines was not just informative, but was actually very fun. The wood fired pizza assortment.... awesome. If you enjoy a white or red, this is definitely a spot to stop and enjoy. 😁👍

Wonderful place, good selection of wines, affordable prices. Bought the Cressy Mustard too, tastiest mustard spread ever. Couldn’t explore the vineyards since we visited on a rainy day, but would definitely go back soon!

We went here mid April therefore I’m sure there is lots more to offer come warmer weather. We loved our experience the lady who assisted us was very kind and knowledgeable. They have an array of snack options too (we choose the popcorn which was amazing). Overall great experience easy to walk in and get a wine tasting. Reasonable price.

Great experience at Sandbanks Estate Winery. We were able to get a tasting without any reservation or hassle, and no major line ups. The price is great - $10 for 5 tasting of your choice; there's red, whites, rose, and sweet (ice). Definitely recommend coming here on a trip to the County.

I like wine tastings with food so I went for it. Honestly brownies with wine is meh to my taste, salumi was probably the best snack. I would prefer to pay twice more for better food pairings, not snacks. Wines are not bold enough to my personal taste. Otherwise any winery visit is a pleasure.

I found the wine tasting to be very expensive for the quality and quantity of what you receive. The tastings are $10 and you only get 3 options to try. They waive the fee if you buy THREE bottles. That's a bit extreme. The check out experience was also very slow as all the prices were incorrect in the system. The lady had to change them all, then the wine tasting showed up as $6 and she sat there doing the math of how much to charge us to bump the price up to $10 for about 5 minutes. This was after our group spent over $100 at the shop. The whole experience was not great, I wouldn't go back.

Amazing. We purchased a taste tour at the winery. Even though it was during covid, Sandbanks Estate made it just perfect. Our host z Stephanie, was just perfect. Very knowledgeable of the product, very customer expectations oriented, we enjoyed it from first second until the real end. The Sandbanks Estate products are great, well balanced, fairly priced. Two thumbs up to the whole team. We are hoping Quebec SAQ will finally hold the complete product line. It is way too hard to tell which was our favorite, it all depends of the mood you feel and what you are eating. Summer Rose is definitely a wow, the red Shoreline is a safe value. Thanks again for that experience and cheers to Stephanie who made our tour something special.

Nice location. We were offered the self guided tasting, so we didn’t really learn anything. Instructions were confusing…waited at one of the tables, but eventually asked what to do as no one came to see us. The pours were pretty small. 1 oz does not give much of a chance to really taste…but it’s reasonable for the price. The grounds are nice with plenty of chillax places. Having charcuterie and cheese you can purchase is a big plus. In the end…it just wasn’t very welcoming.

Stopping in for a tasting was one of the highlights of our trip. Sandbanks has it so organized on how you pick your wines and the staff are amazing in leading you through the tasting. We were fortunate enough to have Susan leading our tasting. She was the loveliest person and just a joy to spend some time with. Honestly, we want to come back just because of how amazing Susan was! The wine is really quite good and the bottles are super reasonable in terms of pricing. We went home with 7 bottles we are super excited to enjoy over the summer months.

Loved that this place had an EV charger so we could relax with some wine while charging. They do not have food service during the week but they have a fridge with some meats and cheeses with crackers in the store that you can purchase to create your own charcuterie board. They provide knives and boards for you to prepare your meats and cheeses on. They had wine flights with 3 tastings of your choice for $6 which I thought was a decent deal. The wines are good but I didn’t have a favorite to where I wanted a bottle to take home. Friendly service and lots of outdoor seating. Would recommend!

A beautiful and well kept winery where it’s easy to spend a few hours wine tasting and chilling in the sun. The staff is quite friendly and the setup to taste the wine is really nice. Whether you choose to sample a few glasses on the large patio or to go all in with the snack and wine dégustation , there’s options for every budget! I will definitely go there again eventually

We visited this place while we were camping at the sandbanks this summer. I have tried their wines before at the LCBO but always wanted to visit this place. They have wine garden and patio as well. Unfortunately they were not doing the tours that day but we did the sampling. You could do it outside in the lawn area or you can just sit inside. We choose the outside option as the weather was great. We did 3 samples each which was i think 5.99 or 6.99. They also have some exclusive samples that can only be tried at the winery. Oh and I have to say that their toilets are very clean and they also a giant jenga at the entrance that anyone can play. We spent about a couple of hours their. Overall nice aesthetic and environment.

Lovely grounds to enjoy a flight and sample some great wines. They have a large selection and the service is friendly and helpful. Their store is also nice with several winery exclusive bottles to purchase. There is lots of outdoor space for kids to run around. Do not expect to have food options when you come. Best to eat beforehand.

This was a charming winery. I did the guided tasting for a bachelorette, as well as a mini self-guided tasting. It's great for being dog-friendly and the outdoor area is clean and comfy. The selection of wines for the tasting is impressive. However, our guide, as lovely as she was, spent more time telling us about her personal life than the wines. I wish it were more educational!

We had an amazing time sipping wine and enjoying a nice fire pit over looking the vineyard. We also tried a selection of curd cheese, banana chips, cured meats and truffle and Parmigiana popcorn. We had a beautiful sunny warm Saturday by enjoying the simpler things in life. Service was spot on and lots of great food items to enjoy as well. They have a great selection every time we pass through. The service was great and everything was nice and clean inside. We also enjoying stopping in and stocking up for the season!

Great trails for walking or biking. It connects over the bridge to the Waterfront trail in Belleville which goes all the way to the east of Belleville as well as to the North. Very safe way to get around Belleville. The trails are well maintained and all of them are very smooth except for one section behind the hospital.

The dog park is great! Dogs & people like it there. Dress warmly because wind off the bay is cold!

Hands down one of my favorite trails to do in Belleville! Especially for cycling and at dusk! 🌌🖤💜💙🤍 This trail is smaller than some of the other ones around town but it's still gorgeous nonetheless and a decent ride and pretty big walk if you do the entire Zwicks trail. For light walkers or strollers I suggest starting with this side and if it's not enough then do the whole loop. This side is the opposite of the children's park so it's normally not as busy and more quiet, but it depends on the day and if anything is going on down there. There's also the dog park on this side but it's all fenced off and is only a fraction of it. During the winter the top of the main hill is one of us locals favorite spots to toboggan too! Overall for Belleville it's a perfect little park on both sides of Zwicks with a little bit of everything for everyone of all ages. If your visiting Belleville and want one in town I highly recommend this one and Riverside Park as well. Both have beautiful trails along the water and both have parks for the kiddos

Say what you will about Belleville. Yes it’s a small town but it’s location more than makes up for it! What can be so bad when you’re right next door to Prince Edward County? 🥳 The area by the bridge is full of plentiful green space and waterfront. It’s very pleasant. 👍😎

It is a beautiful large park for walking and relaxing with the family. I went in autumn and it was beautiful with all the colors. Parking is free. Several portable toilets and soccer fields. Scenic picnic spaces and a playground.

This is a pretty big park and is also dog friendly. They can go off leash. I went for a morning walk and there were several dogs and their owners walking in the park. The surrounding area is picturesque too and there are some area where there nicely landscaped, making it a very nice place to exercise. The path is wide and the place is well maintained. I did not see any homeless people so I assume it is safe too.

I mainly go down to the dog park with my boy, Bogan. The lighting at the park makes it almost useless at night, because there us none. On our walks around zwicks, the trail is well lit with many benches and picnic tables to stop and take in the views.

We did a 450km day trip to visit the park, after watching a TV documentary about it. The park facilities were not open yet but we could walk the dunes. We practically had the dunes to ourselves and spend a good 3 hours walking around and had some lunch on one of the higher dunes with some good views. It was very windy so didn't see much animal life. Overall feeling I think the TV show was more impressive but we still enjoyed the silince between the dunes.

View-wise it is breathtaking! Anyone who enjoys beaches or swimming or open views or fresh air from the lake won’t be disappointed! The water is not deep, perfect for family with kids. It’s already warm in the shallow end at the end of June. Facility-wise, the park has campgrounds with shady and open surroundings, washrooms and showers with hot water as all provincial parks do in Ontario. The water temperature and faucet can use some work, but generally functional and useful.

Just a spectacular place to explore, relax, and do great outdoor activities. Did a nice 40km gravel bike ride a bit through the park . . . Perfect for out and back. The next day did a huge hike over the dunes to the highest point that offered an amazing 360 view of all the scrub. Went down to the beach on the south side and had some equally great views. Dress for sand. They're not joking with the name.

Sandbanks provincial Park was absolutely beautiful! I went during the peak of the summer, when it was one of the hottest days of the month, so the beaches were incredibly busy! If you want to get a good spot, I do recommend to go early! I didn’t end up spending that much time at the beach, I decided to take the trails, and I’m so glad I did! The sandbanks dune Trail was mostly sand, so make sure you have decent footwear! It was quite the challenge on such a day, but made the dip in the water that much better at the end of the day! The beach was fairly shallow, so great for kids!

It might be a good place to enjoy the beach, but not friendly with hikers especially when it is a sunny hot day. No tall trees, shade along the trail. We were like dying hiking.

We go camping every year, and Sandbanks is one of our favourites. We went to Cedars campground and it does not have electricity, which is fine for us. Free water supply is nearby, and shower+washroom facility and within a 1-minute walk and clean. The beach is beautiful and long. There are also hiking trails that are not difficult. There is a convenience store and restaurant on site. Prices are fair. You will not be disappointed.

We spent three nights at Sandbanks in the Woodlands section. As the name implies this area is heavily wooded providing lots of shade. The outer rim provides more privacy. The comfort station was well maintained, as well as the campground and beach. If you’re into kayaking or canoeing, I highly recommend doing the channel that connects East Lake to Lake Ontario. The one disappointment was there was very little wildlife, accept for beautiful Swans. If you’re into bicycling be sure to bring your bicycles, as the roads through the park are paved. There are no lifeguards.

Stretches of long white sand beaches, beautiful clean water and dunes to play in, hard to believe Sandbanks is in Ontario. Off season a quiet place to walk dogs off leash and peaceful. Highly recommend!

Really loved Sandbanks park. We were fortunate to visit on a warm October day when the park was virtually empty. The beach is stunning and my wife and I had it virtually to ourselves. We also walked one of the hiking trails and we’re very impressed. I understand this place is jam packed in the summer so recommend visiting off season!

Sandbanks has always been one of my favourite beaches to go to! It's gotten more and more popular over the years so it gets quite busy. I recommend buying a reservation online because in the summer months the park will close early because it's at max capacity. Great beach and water! The hiking trails are great too!

Loved this park! It is HUGE! The beach is massive with a great dog beach as well. Can get very busy however we didn't have any issues. We had a site in a forested area, which was great, however some of the field sites not in the forest didn't feel as private.

Very beautiful and serene beach, and clean too. Impressive shoreline almost competing against Caribbean beaches. It’s advisable to book the parking online in advance. Get there early to beat the rush on weekends.

I visited during the fall (the last weekend before the park’s winter closure) and it was beautiful to see the blue water contrasted with the warm colours of fall leaves. There are a few shorter hikes you can do, making it a great place to stop for the day. Would recommend the Dunes Trail and Lakeview Trail. Very interesting to see the dunes. I brought my dog and it’s one of the few parks with a significant beach area where dogs are permitted. Use Google Maps to find the trail heads because that’s 1 thing the park map is missing.

We stayed at Sandbanks in mid-October in the Woodlands Campground for 3 nights. Because it was late in the season, we chose a full sun site in order to stay warmer. The site, 608, was spacious and was easy to get our 30’ travel trailer into place. The one strange thing about the electric (30/20 amp) was that the pole for the site also serviced the adjacent site. In our case, the pole was on the curb side of our trailer. Although it worked because of our long cord, I would have liked to choose a site based which side the pole was on. I am not sure this information is available specifically on the reservation website or if it is an look e too o be discerned from the pictures of the site. Of the campgrounds that were open, this campground was the best suited for larger trailers and RVs. There was another campground that was not open that looked promising. The older campgrounds would have been fun for me back when I was tent camping many with some direct beach access. The restrooms and showers were clean and had plenty of hot water and pressure. The one drawback was the button that needed to be pushed to continue the water flow. We really enjoyed exploring the park and the surrounding area. I really appreciated that the park provided dog friendly areas at the beaches. The beaches were expansive and the dunes were beautiful. The area has a large number of wineries, 35 in Prince Edward County. There was services such as a grocery store, bank, and gas station with diesel in Wellington about a half hour away. The cell service at the campground was not reliable. 1 bar of Verizon. I would definitely return to this park although I suspect that it is a much different place in the height of beach season.

This beautiful blue water beach was super crowded on a sunny day. The water wasn’t so cold and you could easily swim or play. Outlet beach is usually crowded so we always go to Dunes beach. The campsites were pretty close to the beach and you could easily walk around. Restrooms are not so clean, but manageable. Try to reach early to reserve a good spot under the shades.

Lovely beaches, shallow shores, clean sand. Great way to spend your weekend on the beach, relax with family, enjoy the sun while you can. Protip: get your day permits online and that'll save you from waiting in lines at the gate. Clean restrooms, changing stations, cafes and ample parking. Perfect getaway. We also camped at one of the sites, loved it. Will be back soon.

The Sandbanks are one of my favourite places for summer camping. The Dunes beach is walking distance ( by trail ) from the far campsites with hydro. There is washrooms / showers on site. The Dunes beach has a playground, volleyball and washrooms. There is parking available. If you have paid for camping your day parking is included. Great place for overnight camping for beginners.

We love going here every summer. Outlet beach is always packed during summer weekends so go by 10 am or at 3 pm. We love climbing the sand dunes at Sandbanks Dunes Beach. Lots of trails and lots to do. I suggest you book a day pass and preregister. This way you will always have access.

I really love Sandbanks campsite and beaches. You need to make sure you book your campsite prior to your visit and if you’re visiting for the day, make sure to buy the day-use pass online since they sell out very fast during summertime. I love the beaches here. The public use beach is busier than the beach at the campsite, but both are equally enjoyable since they have shallow sandy beaches. The park is well-maintained and washrooms and garbage bins are available.

A nice place for a one day visit with family and/or friends. Some days are windy during the spring and summer season.

A cool park where you can see Lake Ontario and then Lake on the Mountain around 60m above that (you really understand the name when you see it). I’d say it’s probably not worth a long drive but definitely worth a stop if it’s on your way. A new viewing deck is being built currently

Perfect little pit stop with quite the view. Pack a picnic or grab a coffee nearby and head back for a little sit or short walk.

Amazing view that a lake is just next to your step though it was cold and windy in early April.

A magical lake high above Lake Ontario. Clear, clean water. A great stop in Prince Edward County. The only thing is there is a requirement to have a Canada Parks parking permit on your car, but no way to print it from the internet - doesn’t make sense.

It's a nice place to stop, but I didn't find it as impressive as it sounded. I wouldn't recommend making a trip from Toronto to see it, but if you're visiting the area (e.g., at Sandbanks), then it makes sense to add it to your itinerary. The brewery down the road is pretty nice, though!

Awesome place to go out for a evening dinner with stunning lake view patio. Should visit this place for a peaceful time and good food. I enjoyed my visit a lot.

A must visit corner of Ontario. Walk around the lake or drive the roads around with amazing inns and cottages for night's stay. Lots of big enough towns around but make the lake area your hub

We went from Toronto, almost 2 hours drive. It doesn’t worthy. It was just small lake and few tables. It’s exactly the same as photo that I shared. It’s good for local people that not need to drive hours.

1st time having brunch lakeside tasting and amazingly was not disappointed but happily filling. Paired wine goes well with the food we ordered. Thanks to our friendly waitress and her service was well received. Definitely a fantastic meal before leaving this beautiful winery with a satisfying stomach.

What an absolutely incredible experience! The poutine was unbelievably good—so flavorful and satisfying. The spaghetti was mouthwatering, and every aspect of our visit was perfect. Our server was exceptional, providing top-notch service. A definite 10/10 dining experience!

Thank you for accommodating a 3 year old full of energy within this high end dinner experience. Adults enjoyed the food and views while trying to supervise the 3 year old running around the Vinyard, and visiting all the farm animals a couple of times The food was impressive, the staff very pleasant and accommodating. Only criticism is the duck for the main meal being a bit too salty, but otherwise amazing.

We visited this winery three years ago (pre-Covid times) and loved it so much then that we returned this week when we were in the area and we’re pleasantly surprised with the new additions! The main building/store continues to be great with its excellent wine choices, store items and ice cream/chocolate venue. Outdoors is now also set up as a tasting spot where people were having a great time. Further down by the lake is now the greatest food truck with fun wine-based drinks and the greatest view of the water on a shaded patio. We had the smash burger which was one of the best I’ve ever had!! (I’m seriously thinking of driving five hours to go back to get another!!). The sangria was a great choice to pair with this. What a great way to spend an afternoon!!

This is a very moce facility, spacious, bright, and modern. Quite a selection to pick from for tastings. However, it would have been nice if the server had (or perhaps just shared) more knowledge of the wines being tasted. If that was the case, this easily would have been a 5 Star reiew.

We were the second table to arrive at Waupoos Estates today for lunch and by the time we left, it was beginning to fill up. We loved everything about this place! Chef Scott and GM, Damian were lovely and amazing hosts. The price fix lunch menu was well worth every dollar. That homemade sourdough pita bread and the very special butter was a lovely starter. Loved the fired roasted Swiss chard salad with lemon gribiche, Fifth Town Parmesan and perch roe. To die for!!! This perch was so very very fresh and was caught within a km from where Chef Scott’s team cooked it! I don’t like lake fish but as of TODAY...I love perch! Chef Scott gave me some tips on how to “liven up" the flavour and firm up the texture of a fresh piece of lake fish. The seasonal estate grown squash, goat cheese and pickled red onion soup was so tasty. Not a drop left in all three beautiful shallow pottery bowls. Their rendition of apple pie but made with puff pastry, roasted apples, crême fraiche and my favourite part, freshly picked lavender buds and tiny chiffonade of sage! The flower and herb were HUGE game changers for me. Dessert went so well with Damian’s perfect Americano. Lovely and delicious pairing: GEWÜRZTRAMINER SKIN CONTACT 2020 Amazing aromas of lychee dominate the profile. Notes of grapefruit rind, rose water, honied cantaloupe and hints of spice complete the profile. The aromas carry to the palate – refined and not overwhelming with a zesty finish. We enjoyed every single course. If you’ve been to Waupoos, you know how that dining room echos. Well, my moans from all of the deliciousness consumed could be heard throughout I’m sure! I can’t pick a favourite course as they were all equally amazing! This place has it all. Beautiful view of the lake and vineyard too. Will we be back soon? HARD YES!!!

Enjoyed our visit to Waupoos Estates and Winery in PEC. The property has a beautiful view overlooking Lake Ontario. Great venue for weddings and photography.

Very nice building, lots of wine! Sorry for the three stars but just when I entered a winery with hopes of asking some specific questions on choosing a wine, there was only one staff in the room and she was so busy with pouring tastings. And looked much too young to answer my questions. I'm sure if we had come at a different time it would have been different. It could be other staff were occupied with the restaurant and outdoor seating's. It is a winery with lots to offer and I do not wish to dissuade anyone from visiting. It just wasn't my day!

Great brunch menu, amazing presentation, view and tastes. Service is very kind and friendly. One of the best places to eat when in PEC.

Visited in October 2023. Great winery! The Waupoos area is very scenic and worth a visit. We went for wine tasting and also had a charcuterie board. I would definitely come back to also try their restaurant.

After doing some research, we decided to go to Waupoos for our anniversary dinner. We ended up being early - about 20 min before our reservation- but they got us in. The menu had a decent selection, and everything we had was delicious. They got my appetizer wrong, but were quick to fix it. The wine we had was wonderful. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely go back! I imagine that the summer with dining outside would be really nice!

This was our first visit to the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised as the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, the food was quite good especially the lamb, crispy pickerel, rhubarb pie and gelato. However, I would say the salmon was a bit too salty for our taste and the steak was slightly over cooked. The staff at the wine store are also friendly and helpful.

First time visiting here and it was an experience. Large estate with so many areas to sit and rest and/or eat. Great selection of wines in all colours and types. We took our flights outside and sipped them on the balcony overlooking the estate. Knowledgeable staff who guided us to sample towards our likes. Purchased a number of bottles to enjoy for later. We wandered around and saw bins of apple mash. They have a nice lunch spot near the water with comfortable seating where you can dream the day away. Big white tents I'm certain used for weddings or special events. Everything is so well maintained. If you're in the area, take some time to visit. We'll be returning for certain.

This is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon! My wife and I started with a tasting of 8 wines - 4 white and 4 red (they through in 2 more later....) we ended up purchasing 11 wines and the manager gave us a 12th on the house! The manager, Patti of the wine shop/tasting area was the absolute best and most helpful! After that we went to the restaurant for our 1230 reservation which turned out to be a wonderful delight. The service was fantastic and the food... Well, the "farm to table" is excellent! We watched the chef attend one of their herb gardens outside to use on our meal... Amazing and delicious! I highly recommend a visit...either for the wine, the food... Or preferably both. Just tell Patti the "salt and pepper beard guy" sent you!

This was our first visit in PEC and I chose The County Cider Company as the first stop. So happy I did! My husband and I really enjoyed the scenic views of the vineyard and the lake. Is was quiet enough to soak up the sun and enjoy the surroundings. Nice service too. We shared a pizza and each tried a cider - pear and blackberry peach. Delicious all around! We bought a 6-pack to take home. Thanks for a great experience!

We have been coming here for many years and we have always had a great time. The location overlooking Lake Ontario is absolutely stunning. The ciders they make are some of my favorite and definitely worth taking home to enjoy again and again. The wood fired pizza has been impressing us for all the years we've been coming here. This place is worth the drive and we love telling friends that this is a must visit place in PEC!

The staff here are so friendly and knowledgeable and are excellent at reading people. Based on what we liked and didn't she was able to make suggestions for other items we might like and she was bang on. The old barn is such a beautiful location. The views outside are stunning. And they had a lot of neat merchandise. Enjoyed our time there.

Scheduled a tasting here and was not disappointed. They have a variety of ciders and we got to taste 6 with a very enthusiastic guide for 30 minutes. It was really inspiring to hear the little details on the cider creation from someone who really loves what they do. My personal favorites were the cider/wine infusion, the pear cider, and the blackberry peach. Make sure to make a reservation before hand as they are quite popular.

Such a wonderful spot! The service was exceptional and the tastings were fun and delicious. That view is so beautiful and lots of food choices. Wood oven pizza was crisp and lots of choice for toppings. A big hit all around!

Best cider of the trip with lots of varieties to try. Gorgeous outdoor views and dog friendly. We actually went twice we liked it so much!

A MUST! Was on my list of places to visit. Turned on the GPS without a word to my husband and let him follow the directions given to him. His reaction was priceless to say the least. The views and the beauty of the business are what catches your eye as you drive in. The walk into the resturant and the views take your breath away. The young man serving us was friendly and knowledgable. Especially when it came time to ordering our the ciders. We ordered pizza and were brought back to our trip in Italy. Took a walk over to the store and bought a few more ciders to try, including the ones we had for lunch. We will be back.

We drove out here on Holiday Monday for a late lunch. There were 6 of us including 2 children. Everyone had plenty of yummy food. The adults had 2 Flights of Cider which we really enjoyed. Service was superb ....and you cannot forget the view. We will be back for sure.

Had an amazing lunch here. I had BBQ Chicken wood fired pizza which was delicious! I decided to have a black berry peach cider with my pizza and it was very refreshing. The location of restaurant is on a hill and the patio provides great views of the surrounding area and Lake Ontario. You can walk through the vineyard and orchard too. The cider shop is directly across from the restaurant on the ground floor of an old barn converted to a store. Other pizzas we ordered were the Margarita and the Funguy which were enjoyed by others at my table. Side note, We almost didn’t get to have our lunch here as staff were turning customers away do to the internet going down. I would recommend having hand written receipts on hand for these situations, lots of customers will still pay in cash.

We had lunch here as a family and it was fabulous! The pizza is outstanding, excellent salads too! My husband had the pickerel and it was very fresh and tasty. The ciders are also excellent. My favourite is the blackberry peach cider. The blood orange is also great. We haven't sampled them all yet but will! Gorgeous view and great service too!

5+ stars. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Amazing people. Sunny hot day. A beautiful patio with both grapes and apple trees side by side overlooking the lake. Can't get better than that. But it can apparently. Their food was just excellent. Enjoyed a good patio lunch date with kids and a nice walk through apple trees after.

Very impressive. The items they have there are not replicas.. they have the actual torture devices, the real chains, the actual ropes inmates made to escape....it's chilling and exciting and impressive and exhilarating. Everything is in extremely good condition and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They have a selection of interesting souvenirs at the store. Loved it.

Excellent museum and great value for a by-donation entrance. A good balance between the little-known history of Canada’s corrections system, and exhibits that humanize the inmates and focus on their daily lives. It was also great to chat with the former corrections officer who now volunteers with the museum. He had many interesting and valuable insights. We particularly enjoyed the section of inmate’s art, the level of talent was incredible. Thank you to the inmates for loaning their art to the museum.

100% recommended! Couldn’t visit the penitentiary as it was busy and I thought I could get tickets on the spot. This museum is no less. You can feel the vibe they’ve showcased. It’s free but donations are welcomed. There’s a high free parking space ahead. I would pay to visit such a beautiful museum again.

I have visited this museum multiple times over the past two years. It is run solely by donations. The museum is self-guided although there are always friendly staff happy to talk if you have questions or want to learn more. The lower level was much more interesting to me as it featured things from attempted escapes and the weapons inmates made while inside the pen. If you're interested in learning more about this historic penitentiary, then the museum is worth a visit.

excellent addition to our Penitentiary tour the day before. We enjoyed listening to the history and stories as told by a retired guard, not sure if that is a normal occurrence. The exhibits are well laid out with good descriptions. Interesting to see the various methods that were used as punishment.

Memorable and interesting tour of Kingston Penitentiary. Most of the staff are former prison guards with interesting stories to tell. You can get a real feel for the personalities and character of the place.

This is nice museum just across Kingston Pen. Entry is by donation so you can’t go wrong. They have six rooms with various exhibits related to Canadian prison history.

Really informative and friendly staff. Wish the pen tour informed you of this museum but luckily we found this gem !!

Interesting and original items. Some history as well and a good glimpse into life behind bars and some people who lived this life on both sides. Enjoy. Free admission, there is a souvenir shop and they would appreciate donations.

We took the extended guided tour, and Paul, our guide, was amazing.

The hotel is centrally located and very convenient. Check in was smooth and efficient. The room scrupulously clean. We were traveling with the dog and I am assuming this was a pet friendly room but it was spotless - even for a picky human! The beds were extremely comfortable and, high marks for good, fluffy pillows! The only downside was that the dog was not allowed in the bar or restaurant, only the patio, which in Kingston in December, and in the evening, was not appealing. We managed to make-do and our waitress even managed to find some dog treats and was able to stay in the puppy's (and owner's)good graces.

I wasn't very impressed with this location. They unprepared for me and my group. The room they gave me was over the air conditioners so I heard the air conditioners all night long. It's sad they treated a bus driver in this manner. Also there was a party going on outside and I heard the party going on until 2:00 a.m.. Overall I think this hotel location could have handled the situation so much better. Perhaps this was an off day. I am willing to give Holly and the benefit of the doubt as I normally have a much better experience.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend when we went to a mutual friend's wedding last year. While the room we stayed in was comfortable, clean, pleasant enough, and we enjoyed walking around the waterfront area, things did not go smoothly or completely well, from the very beginning, and I was overall pretty dissatisfied with the experience. Right from the start when I was booking the room, I was unhappy. I called the hotel to ask about what the price for a room would be. I wanted to confirm with my friend if the price was OK with her or if we wanted to compare with somewhere else. I called and was informed of the price for a regular room with two queen beds. Then I got off the phone and talked to my friend. When I called the hotel back about an hour later, the agent I spoke with gave me a different price, higher than what I was initially quoted. I was given no warning that they had a fluid pricing scheme that would change in such a short period of time, and the agent didn't care that I had been told a different price and had not been informed and that I was unhappy, so I ended up having to pay a bit more for the second night which made me mad. The room we were assigned was close to the elevator, which was nice for convenience but we could hear the elevator every time someone got on or got off. It was a little annoying, but mostly tolerable, but things got worse from there. The night of the wedding we got in kind of late because we were up dancing with our good friend, so we slept in the next morning. Fairly early in the morning, I could hear two people talking loudly outside our room. I could tell from what they were saying to each other than they were hotel staff, I think maintenance staff most likely. They hung around in the hall near our room for quite some time. I just tried my best to ignore it until finally they went away. When I raised this with the receptionist later on, she asked if we had called the front desk. It had not crossed my mind. While perhaps I should have done so, and I will keep that in mind in the future, I did not appreciate that this had been a problem to begin with and I thought it was very inconsiderate. The morning after the wedding my friend and I had planned to take a city bus to the train station because the fare is pretty reasonable. I had looked into the bus routes a little bit ahead of time, but I figured the front desk would have information about the bus schedule and which route would be the best one to take to the train station. I figured that was a pretty common thing that guests would ask about. Ha! When I went to the front desk, they had absolutely no information about the bus schedules whatsoever, and simply said "We recommend you take a cab." Well, we didn't want to take a cab, we wanted to take a bus. We ended up figuring out where the bus stop was on my friend's phone on Google Maps on our own. I was pretty disappointed that the front desk was no help in that regard. One positive thing I can say is that they had a room behind the front desk where we could keep our bags until we left, since we were going to get something to eat in town after check-out time. But I think all hotels have that, so it's not exactly a perk.

Beautiful rooms, very clean and bright. Bathroom was lovely and pristine cleanliness. Ventilation system was a bit noisy but a lot of that's on me as I'm a light sleeper. Staff were fantastic! From housekeeping to front desk! Shout out to Sam(antha?) at the front desk for being so kind to me when I had a problem on my final day there. My room was right over the harbour, lovely view! Really enjoyed my stay and hope to be back! P. S. I should mention that I got a discount rate as I was there with a large group for a conference. Some of the high prices I saw on the website I do think are over-inflated as it is an older building.

The location of this hotel can not be beat! It is at the heart of Kingston with dozens of restaurants and shops seeming to radiate from the front doors. The room we had was very clean and quiet. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. What really made the stay special was Emily at the front desk. We were in Kingston for surgery I required at a nearby Hospital. Emily was aware of my situation, and was very attentive to our needs. Thank you again Emily...you represent Holiday Inn very well!

Although we weren’t here for the Kingston attractions or views, I do feel certain hotel rooms should be discounted since they advertise great views. My view was an industrial size air conditioner which pretty much took up our whole view and we were right off the elevator so the constant “ding” of the elevator when in use can be heard. There was a funky smell throughout the hotel, specifically in the hallways and it wasn’t the cleanest. I’m fine that there is no housekeeping as we generally skip it when staying for a night or two, but there was no housekeeping to be seen for the common areas. It was a busy weekend with tournaments so you think they would hire more staff to keep up with the hallways and especially the main entrance. It snowed and the carpet was soaking wet and the floor was slippery. It didn’t even appear an attempt was made to keep up with this. There is no continental breakfast included and parking was an additional fee. These additional fees alone I would not have generally booked here but we were part of a group booking. If you don’t care about views and just looking for a place to rest your head while here for the downtown attractions, this this hotel will do. It is within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. The room itself was clean with all the necessary amenities within. The hotel was ok but I doubt I’d return to this one. Perhaps my experience would be different if the weather was nicer and I wasn’t so close to the elevator with a view of an air conditioner.

Have a soft spot for Holiday Inn. Hotels are generally clean, relatively inexpensive, and have all the amenities you need. This hotel is right on the waterfront, and close to the main downtown area. We were catching a cruise in the dock next door, so it was very convenient. The hotel watched our luggage while we waited to board.

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights while visiting Kingston. The hotel was pretty clean. It also has a restaurant near the front lobby that has an outdoor patio that has a great view of the lake. This hotel also is in a great location being just steps away from the lake and waterfront as well as a park, restaurants and many other attractions. We walked everywhere we went from here.

We had to pay $600 for one night. The staff was so unfriendly. Their communication was horrible, and without empathy. There was no 4-star service. The rooms were okay but had mold in the shower and old dirty plastic chairs on the balcony. Parking is not included, and you have to pay at least $24 dollars for 24 hours. I can't recommend staying there. There are way better hotels in Kingston.

Meet with business colleagues for meeting / social get-together. The bar area was clean and nicely furnished. The staff set us up in an area that comfortably helding 12 people and allowed us close off the room during the business conversation. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. We ordered several appetizers (flats bread, pizza, wings, veggies & dip. Everything was well prepared and nicely layout for us. Excellent experience ~ we will be back.

Loved my experience at this hotel. Years ago now. I hope it hasn't changed. Going back in March for a hockey tournament. Hope we get a room with a view again and to walk around that beautiful city. So many older buildings and pubs/restaurants. Just a wonderful city all around. Cheers

The level of customer service we received was outstanding! Our original dinner reservation for a dome was canceled due to the overwhelming response of people flocking to the hotel for the eclipse. Needless to say, I wasn't happy, as this was for my hubby's birthday. Kamal, the F&B supervisor was more than accommodating. Even after I sent some not very nice emails, expressing my displeasure. Once I actual read his email and his offer to make things right, I was quick to apologize. I don't want to be a "Karen". I work retail, so know how customers can be. 😉 When we arrived at the restaurant, he came right over, wished my hubby a happy birthday. I was glad to have the opportunity to apologize in person for my behavior in the emails. He was so understanding. Great personality for the position he holds. Our server, Jasmine was great! Prompt, friendly and apologized for what had happened. Which, she has no control of, I'm sure. Food was outstanding! Burger was one of the best I've had in awhile. The tomato Marmalade made it that much tastier!😋 Hubby said his fish & chips were delicious! Would definitely go there again.

All in all a great hotel location is perfect park the car and you can walk everywhere which is nice. The room very nice and spacious we did have a corner room with harbour view it’s extra but it’s extra room and comfortable. The staff polite and friendly only downside had problems with room key every day. They do have a restaurant and swimming pool and fitness area but that was all closed.

3-stars just because there was no housekeeping. You have to request housekeeping, which I did, and they still didn't come. The Delta Waterfront down the road has housekeeping included, no matter what. I get a good rate at this hotel through my company, that's why I stayed here. Also: no slippers & no laundry bag. Pros: Dove shampoo/conditioner, clean room, in-house k-cup coffee, bottled water, ondemand movies, ample towels, and beautiful view of the harbour, if you opt for that room. Notes to management: 1. Carpets need to be upgraded. Makes your rooms look dingy and old, when in fact the furniture in there is just fine. 2. Maybe replace the shower heads in the bathrooms. My water was kind of spurting out in all different directions. Great sleep. No issues on the mattress/comforters/and pillows.

My wife and I stayed here overnight in April. Check-in was fast and the staff were super-friendly. We had a room overlooking the harbour. The sunrise the next morning was spectacular. The location is the best for downtown - within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. We opted for the inclusive breakfast - it was perfect. I would enjoy a stay here again!

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Kingston on a summer evening during Queen's convocation. The hotel was bustling with activity and seemed to be fully booked. The staff at the front counter were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, which was a great first impression. The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient, especially for those attending events at the Leon Centre, where Queen's convocation took place. Additionally, it's conveniently situated near downtown sites, making it an ideal choice for tourists. We opted for a Harborview room and were treated to an amazing view of the main harbour area. The rooms themselves were clean, but there were a couple of drawbacks that affected our overall experience. Firstly, there were no toiletries provided in the room, including basic items like soap, shampoo, conditioner, or moisturizer. We had to call the concierge to have them brought up, which was a slight inconvenience. The biggest issue we encountered was with the air-conditioning. It was extremely loud, resembling the sound of a jet engine. We found ourselves torn between having a cold room with the noise of a wind tunnel or a quiet room that quickly became uncomfortably warm. Unfortunately, this made it nearly impossible to get a restful night's sleep, and I wouldn't recommend staying here during the summer if this issue persists. Another aspect that caught my attention was the parking situation. The hotel charges $28 per night for parking, which I believe is quite expensive, especially considering that the Marriott down the street offers free parking for their guests. In conclusion, the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Kingston is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a fantastic location. However, there are a couple of areas that need improvement. If they can address the noisy air-conditioning and reconsider their parking fees, it would greatly enhance the overall experience for guests.

This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel and we have never been disappointed. -Rooms are always clean. -Service is always good, both in person and over the phone. -The location is great if you plan on walking the downtown core, and offers a beautiful view of the water.

800$ for two nights… way too overpriced for what you get. Breakfast not included- so go somewhere else if you don’t want to pay for cold eggs and bacon. The staff working at the restaurant looked completely disorganized and overwhelmed. Parking is 30$ a night, which should included if youre paying insane prices to stay at their hotel. Hallways are dark and not clean (stains on carpet and chairs). Rooms were fine but still not worth the price we paid. The shower had what appeared to be mold on the seals. The balcony was covered in spider webs, spider eggs and poop. We paid extra for a « water view »- which was a nice lookout to a construction site. I do not recommend and will not be staying at a holiday inn again.

Great hotel and great location. Very clean and quiet as advertised. I have stayed at this hotel several times but mainly alone. This past stay I was with my family of 3 and as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and a Silver member, I received 1 complimentary breakfast ticket. I was very disappointed that this Holiday Inn would be that cheap and when I brought this to their attention...I was told that is their policy. I recommend that all members of the CAF travelling with family in the Kingston area...please stay at Holiday Inn Express Kingston West! It has all the same amenities but only difference is that during my posting we received a complimentary breakfast for ALL family members...not just 1 for everyday we stayed. Thank you again Kingston West for recognizing my whole family.

I came to Kingston for a special occasion to visit my daughter at Queens and was so surprised to find my room decorated, and a complimentary charcuterie board! The staff was so sweet and I was truly touched by their thoughtfulness! My mother-in-law booked a waterfront stay back in January it is 4 days from her husband's birthday and they called to cancel. I'm extremely not impressed with the last minute cancellation and they only offered complimentary drinks if she decides to come back. We will be booking elsewhere from now on. Don't waste your time with this company.

I went to a school event for my daughter. We came in from out of town and stayed one night. The weather was terrible, but our stay made up for it. We really enjoyed our time. We decided to eat at the restaurant onsite and choose from a special sampler menu. Our meal was great. The atmosphere was great as well. Our server Sophia was fantastic. There were many hockey players there for a tournament so there was some noise, but things were quiet but around 11, it really was not an issue. We also had breakfast onsite and enjoyed the morning buffet. Note the elevators are small as the hotel is older but it certainly has charm. Our room was clean and everything worked fine.

Beautiful hotel. My check in process took less than 20 seconds. My room was preassigned overlooking the beautiful Water view with a great In House restaurant. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown this exquisite hotel is right at the end, tip and is near shops, eateries, and local attractions. This is my go to hotel when I travel for work. They are always so accommodating and kind. Very quick to respond to emails and calls as well, which makes my booking process so smooth. It is my home away from home. The location doesn't hurt either, right on the water close to downtown venues, historic sights, and local shops and restaurants.

The king size bed was fantastic, however the bathroom was a little small and awkwardly laid out. We were there for the Solar Eclipse so it was busy and unfortunately the sound from the hallways was quite loud.

Nice historical fort, takes you back to 19th century culture. Lots of cannon of that time, the king’s cutlery, chairs etc are on display. The place has a general admission fees of 15$, and offers free parking. Outside view is great to enjoy Lake Ontario views, wolf island visible from here, decent place to enjoy your evening. Best part of the fort is, in Kingston it is used for festivals and carnivals, like Pumpkin Inferno (pics at the end) and Light Borealis. That’s another reason to visit it in night.

Great little store and bakery but visit on the way out. Very informative. If sunny wear a hat. It was very hot Lots of info on the building of the fort and reasons behind it. We made the mistake of not joining a tour and missed some of the information

Beautiful historic fort! The displays were well-done and plaques were very informative. I learned a lot during my visit. The view of Kingston and Lake Ontario from the top of the fort is incredible. There are people in era-appropriate costumes to answer any questions. General admission price is reasonable and there is lots of free parking available. Unfortunately, I came on a rainy day so there was no rifle demonstration. Dress appropriately as there are indoor and outdoor walking portions of the self-guided tour. Maps are provided when you check-in but you don't really need it because there are arrows to guide you through. Despite the ongoing pandemic situation, I felt safe visiting. There are hand sanitizers available and enough space to distance yourself from another group. Would recommend to my history-loving friends!

A great Historical Site with a unique story as part of Canadian history. In very good condition and kept well maintained. Great informative shows and reinactments, and very helpful Staff. It is definitely worth a visit and if you find it appeals to you, I guarantee you will visit again, multiple times.

Rare example in North America of a 19th century British fortress, this one guarding a naval shipyard and the terminus of the Rideau Canal. Impeccably restored. Informative exhibits and well-informed guides. Plus, cannon and musket fire!

We did not go inside. We stayed outside on the hill waiting for the eclipse.

This park is huge and kind of hidden gem as it is very interior. We visited in fall. We came to know after reaching the park that there are so many trails summing up to 160 kms. Friendly staff. We did only couple of trails that are near to park office as it was very cold on the day we went. Mostly, the way to the park is very scenic with full fall foliage..

Some describe it as a hidden gem, most likely hidden because it's in a very remote place that isn't easily found. Which means it's often not crowded, and usually available. The forest feels unending, the lakes are clean, clear and beautiful. The trails through the woods wind around trees, hills and flowing creeks, it's the perfect spot to experience the wilderness.

We rented snowshoes, they were well maibtained, 15/pair include poles. It was my first time trying snowshoeing. I really like it. They have self service for late return. quite convenience

An amazing park with tons of local history, great trails and canoe routes. Back country camping is highly affordable and offers lots to campers. Highly recommend coming for a day hike or staying the night.

Frontenac PP never disappoints regardless of the season. A lot of well maintained hiking trails with clear marks and signs guide through the woods with many vista points. Many well established back country camp sites with fire pits, food boxes and outhouses, and access to water and firewood. Great weekend or multi day destination for a pleasant backpacking and camping trip.

This is a nice park - there are many trails and some great spots for photographs. We look forward to returning to explore more of the park!

Lovely area to hike. We did the Doe Lake Trail and Arab Gorge Trail, a total of 5 km in about 2 hours…. Stunning views of the lake on the Doe Lake trail.

This is one of my favourite places on earth. I was with a hiking group this visit but I have hiked and snowshoeing the trails many times by myself. The peace, the beauty, the sounds and smells of nature restore my soul. I'd love to camp there and I'm hoping to do so this summer.

A great place for an extended winter hike. We might have been the only people here minus staff. Today 90% of the trail was compacted snow with some dry spots and quite a few watery sections. Make sure you have waterproof boots on. It's also a great spot to walk your dog if it enjoys super long hikes.

This is a phenomenal park! The hiking is incredible, and the water was very clean. One thing I would say they can improve on is the direction signs, wasted a bit of time with my group trying to look for a specific mark that eventually we found. The wildlife was also amazing! Would definitely be back here soon.

Beautiful park with knowledgeable staff. The trails are clearly marked with no exceptions in the 36 km loop I completed. The trails are varied from wide and clear to low traversed, see photos. The campsites are very close together so if you are looking for privacy at camp, during popular times of year, this may not be the park for you. I toured in late June during a fire ban following the 2023 wildfires. My one issue was the ticks! This area is heavily populated with ticks and I received many bites from full grown and nymphs. Know how to identify and remove ticks before entering this park.

If you like nature, and whatever it offers, then this is the park for you. Be ready to park your vehicle and do some physical activity compared to other parks where you can drive around. Parking is limited and be respectful to other people parking. There is no usual Gate Office you find in other parks, there is a Park Office near South Otter Lake where you can park for 15 minutes max and get day pass, then drive to actual parking lots. They're small lots. However, you'll find spots, and mostly nature lovers are here. South Otter Lake and Big Salmon Lake is the main attraction, and many benches are available at South Otter Lake Front for a picnic and bring your canoe or kayaks to launch. Arab Lake is a bit away from its parking lot, so be ready to portage if needed. Drive to Big Salmon Lake is a bit tricky. It is a gravel road, very narrow, and you may have to stop to let another vehicle pass. Watch for large stones on the side of the road as you may hit one or two, may damage your vehicle, and speed limit is 20kmph, so please stay within. Bike riding Overall, it was a very good experience with mother nature.

Great hiking spot. Well maintained and well-marked trails. Most trails seem to be at a intermediate level. No car-camping, walk-in sites only.

Beautiful backcountry park. I hiked through Moulton Gorge around Little Clear Lake and back around Little Salmon Lake. Camped at site 9, with brand new tent platforms. Along the way I saw a beaver, deer, turtles, herons, ducks, and a gazillion chipmunks. I recommend buying the map because the distances are not marked on park signs and I did do some extra mileage as the first junction left off my camp site so I flipped a coin as to which route to take. It was a longer route than I was planning :)

It was nice to take a look back into history. Sharing the experience close to home with Fort Drum. Overlooking the water was beautiful. Watching the sailboats was a nice relaxing family evening.

If you're looking for something to do and enjoy little bits of history knowledge or even just a nice scenic walk, this place is quite nice. I'm not huge into history but it was rather nice learning about all that happened right here! I'm a little bummed that we didn't look more at where horse island was but it was neat learning about all of it. It's a nice walking path around and the view on the water is lovely too! Stroller friendly!

Citizens recognized this land, where the battle for supremacy took place in the War of 1812,  as sacred ground. In 1905, in preparation for the 100th anniversary of the Second Battle of Sackets Harbor, 100 maple trees were planted.  monument was dedicated by Roosevelt. The Americans lost 153 killed and wounded154 captured

A great park and historical site right down town… perfect walk or bike with amazing views. Trail has chronological and educational storyline regarding the War of 1812 and the role of Fort Tompkins.

Didn’t know about this negative history in Sackett. Walked around and looked at the historical sites and red placard’s along the way there is a nice hiking trail about a mile long with parking in several areas.

Great place to visit for learning about history or for eating at small restaurants. Walking trails have posted information about the War of 1812. I highly recommend the area for exploring.

Well preserved 1812 war-time buildings in a park by the water. Great for a walk along the shore. One building seems to have an elevator for accessibility to the front door. Many plaques to read.

Had a good time with my mom sister wife good times nice to get out. ate the food their food was good, Reuben sandwich quesadillas club sandwich buffalo chicken wrap all good french fries are a little undercooked but covered it with some awesome gravy, coleslaw taste kind of funky other then that had fun, oh yeah I didn’t win nothing😞

Not bad for our first time here. The slot machines are a little confusing to understand, where you may just he pushing buttons and hoping to win something. With few tables to play and few seats available, if you want in on blackjack , it was the busiest one, with no chance to get in, so you're stuck on the machines. As with any Casino, make sure you bring a limit and have better luck than us!!!

The outside is vintage 1950s/Art Deco signage which is super lovely. Security and Id check was fine. Had an issue with trying to get a card as they needed extra verification from HQ security. Also be forewarned that you need to fill out a PAPER form! Like why? That should have been my first indication. The cashier was the most helpful. The high limit room was small. There are a lot of older machines and only 4 Dragon Link games (the one I finally was able to play had been not working for a while even with the service light on). It was an okay experience but I won't be back. The machines didn't pay; the sounds weren't working (and some were working too well) and the RTP was dismal. I was there for 90 minutes and the most I saw anyone win was 90$.

My family and I came here for Easter weekend. I just went to the restauraunt since I dont gamble. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap which I thought was pretty good. It was around $15 which makes it reasonably priced. I like how you can get a discount of 10 percent on the food if you get a card at the front. Later I ordered a wine and it was decent and also reasonably priced at $7. Service wasnt bad and sufficient. All in all, not a bad experience.

Fun time here, won some and lost some. It is a very small casino (but it's also in a very small town!) There is a ridiculous amount of parking, so no stress finding a spot. The casino is clean inside, offers a variety of slot machines and a couple table games. My only real complaint is that the food was subpar and service was slow at the restaurant.

The service was the best I ever had. The room was beautiful and clean when we arrived. The tub was fun. Fits 2. 😉. The breakfast was also excellent.. 5 stars

I recall checking out this casino years ago when it had just opened. The place was busy, beautiful and full of spectacle; what you might expect from a casino. Unfortunately, the shine seems to have dulled over the years as maintenance has obviously not been kept up with. I visited recently during what I would have expected to be prime time on a Friday night. The place was almost empty. Sad, really. This could be a destination and instead management seems to be content with complacency. Oh well, at least parking won't be an issue.

1 star is too much. Manager Mike and doorman Mark were very rude when my wife and I were visiting and they asked to see her identification. She was very flattered by the request but when she showed 3 different pieces or identification all of which were her and she is 33 years old. I drove 2 hours to visit. Clearly they were not having a good night and didn't want our money!!! I'll never be back. Mike the manager is a real piece of trash as far as I'm concerned. You ruined our entire night. Loser probably needs to get laid !! Never gonna come back !!

I was in ganaque for the weekend and spent time at the casino. Read some bad reviews. But my experience was great. The staff were friendly, food was excellent, machines were pretty good( even thought i lost). All around a good time was had and i will be going back again

They should remodeling Exterior and interior during pandemic for better and more higher services to customer. Dont getting money from senior people and just put in a pocket never upgrade. Machines are old and slow. All same and nothing changed since 2007. Just changing game programs on same machine so computer cant work smooth. Looks like family restaurant from outside look. Employees are super friendly. immediately action require extend space use parking space to better and more tourists visit to kingston. Make Gananoqui town more popular.

My friends and I were staying in a cottage in Lyndhurst and decided to check out this casino which was about 25 minutes away. We decided to apply for a player's card and were told that if we have a card from other casinos owned by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation the same card can be used in this casino. Since we did not bring our card with us the customer service representative checked the database and because we are already in the system, cards were issued to us. They really provided excellent customer service. They also have coffee machines and soft drinks machines inside the casino for players to help themselves. It is a nice little casino in Gananoque.

Casino is beautiful new great machines staff very helpful although they only allow you to have two drinks in an hour which seems kind of silly to me. They should be on an individual basis. Bathrooms were filthy, and there was lots of leftover empty drinks at the machines that stayed there over the few hours that we were there, overall, if they fix the issues mentioned above, I would give it five stars.

The place has gone extremely downhill. We went on a Thursday and Friday night. Is ridiculously boring No atmosphere no music, the place was dead. The dealers we had had 0 interaction almost like they were robots no emotions no conversations. 10 years ago it was amazing I have no idea what happened. I bet you with out Exaggerating I probably been here well over 500 times. Will more than likely never be back. Is probably the same thing Eyes everyone else because it was like it was Sunday morning 8 AM But on a Thursday and Friday night.

Small but nice selection of games. I was there two times this year. Had a great breakfast and also an excellent lunch. Very friendly and efficient. Great service.

Important: Gambling addictions can be hard to cope with, but with the right help it can be managed. This casino is very well lit, open and spacious, offers a wide range of machines and games, and has a very nice atmosphere. You can tell they take pride in their business and the employees also look happy to be there. There is a waitress at the Gananoque casino restaurant named Martina who is fabulous. She is efficient, polite, personable, neat, etc. and is always smiling. She deserves to be commended for her excellent service.

Food was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful... it was our 2nd time there. Fun times with a few friends and the coffee is great.

My family went to Zoo New York for the Earth Day event yesterday have been a couple times. It's a nice little Zoo and has some fan favorites like bears (black bears), bald eagle & otters. They're big on conservation which is awesome. We've only been in the Winter and now early Spring, so the animals weren't particularly active which is understandable. We can tell there will be more once the weather warms up, like the butterfly house. The pricing is very reasonable and we'll be frequent visitors.

Smaller zoo. Many of the animals when we went were not on display (the children’s farm being one). Very cool to see local animals up close.

Overall experience was good! It's not very big and has a focus on North American local wildlife with a decent variety of animals. That being said the animals were so fun to watch and the staff is so passionate about their work. We spoke with Keeper Brenda for a long time after her wolf conservation presentation and she was so nice and obviously loves her job, the animals, and knowledge of conservation efforts. Talking to her was the highlight of our trip. (We went in the winter and on a Saturday)

Alright so I love zoos but this one was really disappointing. 1) They don’t post the time for the elk feeding and then when I got there at 11:50 and asked to purchase 2 tickets to feed the elk and then I was informed that they stopped selling tickets for that for the day (their hours are 10-5, so I was surprised they stop so early in the day), they said they only sell tickets for it from 10:45 to 11:46 and then the feeding is at 12. Which whatever I missed it, but then at 12:20 the one zookeeper had at least 10 cups of carrots that he was just chucking over the side of the fence to the elk, that was already prepared for visitors. 2) Then we went into the reptile house and out of the 6 enclosures inside 2 of them were empty and closed for renovation. 3) We went to the butterfly house at like 12 when we first arrived and it was locked, and I was told the zookeeper was probably on lunch and then I tried again an hour and a half later after I was told they’d be back between 12:30 and 1 and it was still locked. So we ended up leaving without getting to see the butterflies. 4) The petting zoo/farm animal area was also locked and not open for visitors just like the butterfly house, so we left without seeing them too. 5) They also had the wolverine and owl, and otter inclosure empty 6)They also said there was a pressed penny machine online and there was none. There was quite a bit of play ground area and stuff for small kids to play around. Not bad for little kids but overall not a good zoo. I honestly wouldn’t advertise it as a zoo it’s more of a public park with the animals kinda like a second thought. Definitely not worth the $12 a person. Considered asking for my money back because of how disappointing it was but I didn’t even bother.

I have gone to this zoo for 52 years. I have pictures of myself in this zoo since I was 3 years old. It has changed over the years. I will always remember the sound of the peacock's that they used to have. Now the zoo is NY animal habitat only. I dont live in NY anymore but I visit every time I am home. I enjoy seeing the animals and taking photos.

So awesome! The exhibits are great, lots of good info, and the habitats are incredible. The zoo does lots of activities, nice gift shop. Their concessions are very limited, there’s hot dogs and nachos and that’s pretty much it for “real” food. I wish there were some educational books or coloring books about the animals, but the stuffed animals are ADORABLE.

Great conservatory! Butterfly House was fantastic. The Zoo New York at Thompson Park is immensely improved from its earlier days. Watertown should be proud.

My husband and I love visiting zoos when we are on vacation, so we had to come to this one on our way home. There were some cool interactive things to help kids learn and some nice exhibits, but overall, the value for the price was disappointing. Many of the exhibits were closed or empty. The butterfly house was locked and inaccessible. A lot of the animals were not visible. We did get to see a bald eagle and porcupine pretty close up which was cool. The grounds were clean and well maintained and the animals seemed to be well cared for.

With there being trash in certain spots, and most of the enclosures looking run down. My family did not have a good time. Albeit it was mothers day and my wife got in for free, which respectfully that was nice. It is such a small place and has maybe a handful of sad looking animals. I would hardly consider this a zoo. These animals need to be relocated and this land needs to be used differently. Will not return. However, the animals are still adorable. Maybe spend the 9 bucks to just jog there along the trails and have the animals near you? Takes about 30 mins to go around the entire zoo....walking extremely slow mind you.

Definitely a small zoo, but still an interesting place to see some native animals up close. I was glad to see that there wasn't anything too exotic, from an animal welfare standpoint, especially considering the harsh winters in this area. Nice place to walk around with my 6 yr old and fun to read about the animals, especially the stories of how they came to the zoo, like Pandora's comical story we laughed about! We also recently saw a wild barred owl and we love to go to Tug Hill in the evenings and call to them. We hear them so often that it was cool to see one much closer up, given all we have learned of them. Only thing I think definitely needs attention is the tanks inside! They were full of algae and a couple dead fish (pictured). The turtle was a kind I've never seen or heard of before, so it was cool to see that and learn how common they actually are. But someone really needs to be keeping up with tank maintenance!

There are only some animals. Though we did find the park to be a good workout. It was neat being able to check out the animals that they do have. There seems to be some construction happening in some areas. They didn't have the wolverines. The white snow owl seemed hungry? Upset? I'm not sure tho when we were there it sounded off to us even when I dbl backed after a little bit. Saw what seems to be some improvements. I wish, though, that the zoo was more like it used to be a few years ago. I mentioned to my daughter how it feels more like a farm now.

This was an amazing zoo who created an amazing place to go for the solae eclipse. Not only where they so welcoming sitting near wolf and elk during a solar eclipse was amazing!! I hope to be able to visit again and see how the zoo continues to grow!

My family and I take a trip here a couple of times when they are open for the season. We love getting some cider and warm, crisp, fresh cider donuts. Well... sadly our first stop of the season was a big let down. The donuts were not warm or crisp. So we went again when our daughter came home from college for the weekend and this time the donuts were crispy and barely warm. Better but not great. The waterfall out back was so pretty and flowing after all the recent rains.

This place has apple everything. Super fun little stop. The Apple cider slushees are a huge hit especially for the kids. Apples, cider, fudge, cheese curd, candies etc, you name it they have it. They make cider doughnuts right in front of you while you are in line. Parking can be tight in the upper lot but there are spaces out along the road. There is also a killer waterfall right behind the store with a walkway Only suggestion for the business would be to add a few more garbage cans to throw your trash away with.

Stopped here with the family for the first time. A very pleasant environment with an amazing view of a waterfall. The doughnuts are very delicious and didn't last the trip home. Gift shop has many wonderful tasty goods for everyone as well as many crafted items.

The Hot Apple Cider was fantastic, the doughnuts were fresh and hot! The gift shop was packed full of fun treats and goodies even for your furry friends. The prices were very reasonable, we got 1/2 dozen doughnuts, hot Apple Cider, a jar of Apple butter and a few pounds of fresh apples for $20.

We love the cider mill! The best, fresh donuts and a shop full of other local goodies, plus a fun place to go out back to see the mill. A must stop in the fall!

It was my first time there .. I think it was overrated but I did find a good deal on a end of season price..it was a 6 sided fire pit guard ..I never made it inside..it took to long to try get a parking spot...it's a small parking lot you need to find a place on the street and walk to the place....just thought it was overrated..in my opinion

Was a great part to spend a night camping! We unfortunately got rained out, and we’re unable to do the cave tour, and I recommend you take a look at if your site has good drainage, or if it is downhill! Luckily, we woke up just before the rain started to hit, And packed up before our site was a tad bit flooded. With that being said, we really loved doing the trail the day before! We can’t wait to come back and get a more dry experience!

Beautiful park. Well maintained. Was a little disappointed we couldn't go in the mines. Will definitely go back to hike more trails and maybe camping.

Nice beach, clear water, poor management When we arrived there, the power was out because of the storm. I completely understand storm is not a common problem but each successful business should have backup plan for unexpected situations. We didn’t have bathroom there for 2 days. They can easily planned to have some electric engine to support power.

I love this campground, especially on weekdays in autumn. Barely anyone there. There were so many site options the morning I left Ottawa. The reservation was easy to make online for my trailer as there are good details for each site. There are vault toilets with sinks outside near my site #12. A ten minute walk and you can grab a shower and do laundry ($2 a load). It is dog-friendly so my little guy loves rustling in the colorful leaves. Swimming is pretty nice there at the beach - just don't bring your dog with you! Staff is super friendly! I will definitely go back!

Well managed park, clean and quiet. Beach was beautiful and the hikes were incredible. Due to Covid the mine tour is booked quickly with not enough spaces. Town of Perth was super quaint.

This is another beautiful Ontario Provincial Park, formed in 1967. Large, many varied sites, lots of trees, lots of shade, lots of good size lots, lots of access to waterways and hiking trails. The store is nicely stocked, lots of watercraft to rent and it has good facilities. Staff are friendly. Overall very peaceful, especially in September when their are no kids running around and only half the sites are in use. Downsides include many of the sites are quite sloped. You need to be adept at levelling your RV. The sites tend to have a lot of exposed roots which are trip hazards. And bring 100 feet of extension cord as the electrical hookups are quite far away, shared between two lots. But overall a “keeper” !

Great place to camp, nice beach for the kids. If you're into kayaking or SUP this is also a great place to go. The protected bay offers a nice place to explore. If hiking is your thing there are plenty of places to hike just be cautious of the tics in the area.

Great, quiet park worth the visit, we spent two days here. We wish we had spent longer as we really enjoyed the campgrounds, its well kept with multiple activities for families to do. The trail to the mine was a cool throw back in time. We also spotted deer multiple times threw out the trip with even the chance to get 10 to 20 feet from them and also had them walking next to our sites. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys camping

Great place for camping, hiking and kayaking/canoeing. Perfect for nature lovers. Mature trees and spacious park. Noise is not tolerated, which is fine for most campers. Lots of photography options, including birds.

Beautiful park that I’ve been visiting since I was a little kid! The sites are well immersed in nature and the Hogg Bay sites are a short walk from the beach. The bay is great for canoeing (which can be rented from the park store) and also leads to the Rideau River. There are lots of opportunities to see wildlife such as deer, turtles, raccoons, and more and you can also see fun educational presentations at the amphitheatre (the one we saw featured snakes)! Bonuses: I always see lots of shooting stars at night here and the camp store features great ice cream :)

I had a great experience here camping. Unlike other camping places this place had many spots unreserved through out the year excepts for a few months. This place is near Perth (20 mins). The camping sites are really good . We booked the spot online and it was around 40 cad plus taxes. The first vehicle parking is included with this but if you have another vehicle you will have to pay another 11 bucks at the registration counter. As this place has lot of rain, I would suggest you to check the weather and prepare accordingly (Setting up tents and dismantling it). Make sure not to leave any food leftovers outside before heading to sleep. If you don’t, probably the raccoons won’t allow you to sleep. 4-5 of raccoons come and fight just next to you and they aren’t even afraid of us. The camp had pretty decent toilets for camping areas and also the garbage dump area was convenient. The swimming area of the camp was really nice with shallow and deep areas. No lifeguard so take care. Happy camping!

Booked site #25, it was large enough for our tent, dining tent, and privacy tent (plus the kids had a ton of room to play. The first night it rained (our tent wasn't up properly) and we got soaked. I was so thankful for the laundry facilities, so we could dry our blankets. The showers had hot water, and decent pressure. There were plenty of well-kept washrooms, and the vault toilets were fairly clean. Park staff were absolutely lovely, even when we got lost in our canoe and were slightly panicked. The silver queen mine (free for registered campers) was so interesting. It was really cool to learn a bit of the history, and go into the miners bunkhouse. I also loved the events and activities available to take part in around the park on various days. We will definitely be returning to Murphys Point!

An incredibly beautiful park! Spent the long Thanksgiving weekend camping and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend making this a place to visit.

It’s a beautiful place! You have to take a boat ride across the lake. There are stairs. They have food on the property. You can get married there.

We visited Boldt Castle as a part of the 5 hour cruise. The cruise stops over here for 2 hours to see the castle. It was a bit of a wait to clear US immigration. Once you are inside, it's quite spectacular to see all the views, architecture, and the way the castle is furnished. It's quite a sad history behind the castle, and some parts are left unfinished. 2 hours minus the time for immigration was not enough time to completely see everything but just right. Would have loved to spend more time. If you have a sweet tooth, don't miss the little ice cream store there. They serve amazing ice cream. The quality & quantity are out of this world.

Wonderful place to hang out for the day! The people that run the place created a self guided walk through tour that is very easy to follow along with in the app and in person. Can get crowded at times, but it's a whole castle so just go explore! So many interesting things you can look at here

This place was so amazing! The castle is being restored and much has, but there are rooms that they have left to show the progress, which is very interesting. Boat tour over was fun as well, lots of cool things to see... Highly recommend this one to see while in the area.

It was fun, but it was really crowded, and a bit chaotic. However, after touring the castle we found a quiet bench to sit on along the water's edge and watch the boats cruise by. The castle itself is fascinating, especially the higher up you climb into the unfinished areas. The yacht house was worth the extra ticket, the old boats, engines, and the building itself were amazing (if you like that sort of thing).

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Boldt Castle on Saturday. The Bridge Authority has done a wonderful job in restoring this great piece of history. The property inside and outside is so well taken care of by the staff. We were blessed by the experience to see not only what has been restored, but also to be able to see what is still in process. We have toured many places over the years and have never seen the behind the scene look at what goes on to restore a building of this magnitude. It was truly a gift to be included in the experience of the love George had for his wife in building this structure for her.

Keeping History alive is essential for future generations. The restoration in progress is amazing! Such a beautiful love story 💕 I felt so at peace exploring and learning more while I was there. A destination to remember for this Pin Up Model as a photo shoot is in my future here! Definitely Kimmy-Sue Tested and Approved 💋🇺🇲

This is a beautiful castle with a very sad story. While walking around the Heart Island , you can feel how great is the effort in building this castle and also to keep it as a museum grade attraction. Thanks for all the people who worked behind the scene. This is a place that I always want to go back to visit again. I enjoyed the 1000 Island cruises too !

Such a beautiful place to visit! Our relative brought us here as we were visiting the region, and we had such a lovely time here. They’ve done a fantastic job restoring it. The staff is friendly and gives lots of info on the property. There’s also an audio tour you can do via Wi-Fi on your phone. Definitely worth visiting!

Awesome experience to visit such a magnificent house. Plenty of history to learn about throughout the entire island. There are snacks available on site along with washrooms. Would highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

Beautifully maintained. I enjoyed the history of this place. The yacht house could have been better. Definitely worth a visit. The cafe had great pretzels. This will take about 3-4 hours to enjoy. Check it out if you are in the area.

We opted for the castle and yacht house tour on a September weekday. These are self guided tours with the option to use a free tour app. For those who aren't tech savvy, there are plenty of placards describing items throughout the castle. There is also a short video about the family and history of the property. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, willing to answer questions.

It was such an amazing place to visit and see how beautifully it has been restored and decorated to period!!! The history is tragic, but thankfully, it can still be enjoyed by the many people who visit. We will definitely stop over again and spend more time enjoying the beautiful grounds and castle.

We took Uncle Sam ferry to visit this magnificent castle. Uncle Sam ferry operations are quite efficient and reasonably priced. There is so much to see on this small island, which is also called Heart Island. Plsn to spend at least a couple of hours to fully enjoy it and learn the history behind it. They show a 16-minute long documentry, which is quite informative. Gardens are beautiful and so is inside of castle.

The Boldt Castle & Boldt Yacht House are great historical sites to visit with family, friends, and whomever! It might not be a Disney Castle but this is a real castle and boat house that you can thoroughly explore. You'll find the multiple pleasure boats and racing crafts in the yacht house, the bowling alley and play stage in the kid's play house, the swimming pool, the multiple rooms, the power house, the servants' quarters, and so many more. Great place to explore when you get the chance!

Amazing castle and castle grounds! Such a tragic story but what a gift to people. Looking forward to its complete restoration! Phenominal work so far, you can feel the care and love tha has been put to restore every detail that was so tragicly lost.

The castle is beautiful. There are 4 floors totally redone and areas that weren't finished as a side by side comparison. The grounds are all nicely kept. There was a wedding even taking place. It's a very popular place! Spend an easy hour there which is perfect as the boldt yacht club runs a ferry every hour to and from. 30 for 2 people. Only runs to and from the castle.

In the 1970’s, my family visited Boldt Castle. I was so excited to return for the first time since then. We stayed in Watertown for the night, then drove to Alexandria Bay. It was all better than I expected! In the 70’s, the castle was in ruins. I honestly had no idea it was being renovated as this was a last minute addition to a trip in the Adirondack Mountains. It was worth taking a day to see the castle and yacht house and the area! We took a boat over to Boldt Castle around 11:30 am on a Thursday. The boat ride was between five and ten minutes. We walked through the castle and around the grounds and spent 3 wonderful hours. We had a quick lunch at the cafe, then took a shuttle over to the Yacht House. That may have taken 15 minutes to tour (the boat ride was about 5 minutes). All so interesting! We walked through a few shops and were in our car and heading home by 4 pm. I can’t wait to return to the area and spend more time here. Next time I would stay in Alexandria Bay for a few days!

Highlight of our trip to the thousand islands. I definitely recommend visiting Boldt Castle. What a beautiful Castle, rich in history and lovely grounds to explore and take pictures.

Great place to visit and wander around. Lots of things to see all over the island for those who love peering back into history. Highly recommended. If your Canadian, it's easier crossing the border and taking the ferry from Alexandria Bay. This way you don't waste time going through customs when you get on the island.

Geared for younger crowd. My kids are 8 and 11 and they were bored. Drove an hour to be there for the 1 o'clock entry. We left for 130. We did not see any of the shows so not able to comment on those. However my daughter did get to see the mermaid. Who was fantastic with interacting with the crowd as well as individuals taking pictures with her.

Our family had a great time interacting with the aquatic animals such as the starfish and hermit crabs. We enjoyed the various interactive stations set up for kids to play and learn too. Overall, a fun experience and we would go again!

We had a pretty amazing experience thanks to Corey Stitt. Note to self and to others. Buy tickets online ahead of time, and plan your trip. As well as be prepared to be separated from your kids for like two areas. I don't mean it in a bad way I just mean there is tunnels and stuff for them to see fish closer and to get onto the ship/slide, my son always has a great time here, but if you would like a less busy scene go after March break.

This was a pit stop on our road trip. We weren't expecting something big, and yes, indeed, the Aquatarium is pretty small. However, it is so perfectly created, with enormous attention to details. It was a pleasure to spend here an hour or so. There is a place for kids to play and give some energy away. And you can also watch “shows” - feeding time for animals. Super welcoming and friendly staff, they all acted as we were guests in their house. Souvenir shop, the cafe at the corner and a restaurant on the second floor.

This is hands down one of the greatest family memories we have ever made. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to engage with our kids. I recommend this to anyone with children of all ages. Ignore the other reviews that tell you this place wasn’t stimulating for their children- we could have spent an entire day in the water table room alone. If your children (of any age) aren’t completely in love with this place, that’s likely a reflection of your parenting style, not here. We enjoyed this more than Ripley’s Aquarium (downtown Toronto) and the conservation aspect here is incredible (they rescue formerly mistreated beavers and otters). The otters will come right up to the tank and interact with you. Don’t even think about it, take your children here, it’s incredible.

Super fun museum for the whole family. We were a large group with 6 kids ranging in age from 2 to 18 and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I loved watching the beaver eat the bark off a stick, feeding time for the otters, and feeding time for the longnose gar. I highly suggest a trip to this museum.

My family and I enjoyed our day at the Aquatarium. We were able to see the otters having their snack time, and the boys learned a lot of new things about sea stars and other creatures. We visited the Traveling Bricks exhibit, and ended our day with the escape room experience.

Aquatarium was a hit. It was our 2nd time there (ever), and we attended on the August long weekend. We spent about 2.5 hours there and could have stayed longer if energy levels allowed. Our group was two adults, a 5 year old and a 6 year old. It is so well designed and interactive. We tried almost every exhibit and spent probably 45 minutes at the amazing ball station in the gift shop. The only flaw from my perspective is that feeding times are packed so it's not likely that you'll see much from the animals unless you're early to stake out a spot before it starts and comfortable in a crowd. It's walking distance to the south end of the railway tunnel, nice waterfront space, and several options for food. Parking was a challenge. We were told it was much worse than usual as there was a boat poker run happening. Of note, we also attended the travelling bricks exhibit. It was ok, but underwhelming for me. Parking was plentiful and free. We spent about 1h20min there. It was a few nice LEGO builds on display grouped by theme, then at the end there was a LEGO pit where the kids could build. If the Aquarium didn't throw in a bonus activity, I would have been disappointed at the value for cost. There is a little gift shop at the end. Table in the center had little Lego knock off sinks or sea creatures or a light up extension tube fidget thing for $3 each. Prices of other items around the sides were higher and varied. Bonus activity had to be chosen and time booked on arrival. Options were the train, obstacle course, or escape room. The escape room was a fun, cowboy themed experience. It's got a time limit of 45 minutes.

This place is PERFECT for kids! My 4 year old has never been very interested in museums until this place- he had a blast in the water play table and the ball vacuum trucks in the gift shop. The place is clean and gorgeous inside and the animals are very well loved and cared for. And the employees are incredibly kind and helpful! We burned 5 hours here easily. 10/10! We came on Monday and we had the place to ourselves.

Brockville is a small community and despite that they are fortunate to have a clean and family friendly aquariums. Don't set your expectations too high as if it were a world renowned aquarium, because it is not. However, there are lots of interactive live displays, educational tours and it is a nice place to spend a few hours. I liked going to the aquarium and recommend others to go there as well especially if you are visiting the area. If you like my reviews, photos or videos scale your fin up.

Stopped in at the Aquatarium on a family road trip and it did not disappoint. My children are 3 and 6 and they absolutely loved it. We are greatful to the staff for accommodating the error we made in purchasing our tickets. I was blown away by the attention to detail throughout the building - from the elevator ride (which seems like you are in a submarine), to the details even in the signage for the washrooms, it was all spot on. The Centre is very interactive which is great with busy boys. I am also greatful to another family who was signing up for the ropes course - as it is a flat rate for upto five people they welcomed my son into their group. The staff were amazing and encouraging - He had an absolute blast. My three year old was fascinated with the sea creatures you can touch - the staff were incredibly patient and very knowledgeable. We also loved the 'secret passageways'. I personally loved that I could be a kid with my kids. We enjoyed otter feeding show. The building is fully wheelchair accessible and I had no problem manoeuvring a large stroller. We will definitely return!

Very fun! We went for March Break and our 4-year-old loved the Mermaid exhibit, as well as the pirate ship playground and the water displays. Definitely worth the visit! We will be back - though we may pack a towel next time!

Great place to visit as a family! Our children range in age from 5 to 18 years old, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all! We got tickets online but something went wrong and we were charged for 4 extra people. When we got there, they refunded it no problem. The hands on activities, touch tank, and demonstrations are all worthwhile and add an extra special touch. Would highly recommend!

This is what all ‘museums’ should be like. Absolutely amazing, fun for all ages, informational, interactive, and a great way to spend your day. They have live animals (fish, sea stars, turtles, otters, beaver) demonstrations, challenges, activities, crafts, informations displays, physics challenges (add on cost for the ropes course or escape room). We went with our 6 month old and he loved it - we loved it too!!!!!

I took 3 grandchildren to the Mermaid event yesterday and it was fabulous. It was well organized with numerous activities. Every single one of the employees/volunteers were enthusiastic, helpful, energetic, entertaining and patient. I highly recommend taking young children here. I think it's best for children under the age of 12.

First time visiting the Aquaterium with my toddler and baby, and had a wonderful time! It was incredibly busy as it was opening weekend for the mermaids but the staff didn't bat an eyelash and even helped me wrangle my toddler from running off too far! The mermaid story times and swim were so much fun and we loved seeing the aquatic life, especially the hermit crabs. We spent a long time playing at the interactive sandtable too. We will definitely come back again.

Honestly such a great place to take children for a couple hours. They can learn and experience so much while being there. The staff are so kind and informative and will teach you fun facts about each animal. Perfect for families and young children.

The service was great. We arrived early and thought we would have to wait, but they asked if we wanted to go on the next train!!! This was actually a great option and we ended up having a private tour. The conductor was very nice even took our picture for us. Watching them feed the Otters was interesting and the set up of the aquatarium is very well designed for families to be engaged and interacting with their kids. Definitely recommend it!

The Mermaid experience was absolutely beautiful. It was a great family outing. The mermaids/mermen were beautiful, and it was nice to be part of that fantasy world for a couple of hours. The staff were great too, very prepared for all questions. On a side note, I really loved seeing Justin Beaver.

Best place EVER to find exquisite home/kitchen decor, treats you won't find anywhere else, the most amazing selection of fine chocolates... and the MUSTARD ... where do I begin?! I love them all. And the staff are all knowledgeable about their products and literally can't do enough to help you find what you're looking for. Downside? I ALWAYS come out of there with way more than what I'm actually shopping for. Example? Go in for one of the beautiful Italian olive oils, come out with pretty napkins and a set of placemats (and the olive oil) . Go in for a small gift for a friend, leave with a new shower curtain, the chutney you haven't tried, more mustard flavours, and a spray bottle for your eco-friendly cleaner. Consider yourself warned!

Outstanding store! It has everything! And when it did not have the one thing I needed, the staff, directed me to another local store! For the record I needed bone broth and Mrs McGarrigle’s had VEGAN bone broth! We laughed and I carried on my way! Love this store!

An interesting shop with two floors. We saw a huge variety of food related items such as sauce, jam and vinegar. There were many gift ideas for those who love to cook or entertain at home. The staff were helpful when I asked about a hard to find item.

We went to visit her for the first time yesterday with my daughters and I find that there is animal cruelty. The calves are only 3 days old and are separated 48 hours from their mother. For them to produce milk, this is a total dispatch knowing that the first months are the most important for any living being. The approach of showing this as normal is inhumane. More than the girl who was present explaining she told us that the calf could get sick if she drank milk directly from the cow ??? and that it was the best for both of them. I perceive this as the cow is a machine to produce milk and have children and then take them away from her and she continues to produce milk.... don't you have rights over her feelings? about attachment with calves? . Great place to bring kids. There is a big park, lots of animals (chickens, cows, horses, sheep). Every building is stroller accessible. Some of the centers have the information available in english, french and brail.

Went with my kid's school on a field trip here and the kids loved it. Lots of open space for them to be wild and crazy, and lots of interactive things to play with. Every kid there seemed to live the rector driving simulator! Lots of animals to see and it's all in a fairly compact space so you're not walking for miles and miles. Strongly recommend a visit!

In spring and summer this is a magical location to walkabout and take in a vast variety of nature's blooms.

Great place to visit. They do different things every season. I think spring with the baby animals is my favorite. Great playground in the middle. Always lots to see. If you go at the right time you can see them feed and milk animals. There was a fantastic face painter there today. Also glitter tattoos.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum known as Central Experimental Farm is a very nice, organized, well maintained farm. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They had an ice cream activity today and a kitchen activity (making strawberry scones). My 4 children and I enjoyed our visit! Horses, cows, lama, poultry, ducks, rabbits, and much more! The farm also includes a park with a play structure, picnic tables and washrooms. Paid parking is available as well. Safe and sanitary with sanitizer stations and some water stations as well. Lovely and interesting place to visit with your children!

Enjoy it ever time , the farm. I was born and raised on one. The animals ease my mind so 5 stars BUT we were ticketed for illegal parking. , though my buddy has paid the seasons pass AND parking fees in advance. He worked on the phone for hours trying to clear up the ticket. Ruined the whole day, for sure. We do not take illegal easily. I hope for the sake of the animals and my mind , the ticket gets annulled . Four days later , only , well long does it take for us to be legal again.???

Beautiful place to spent the day learning about Canada's agriculture and farming. Also wonderful for interacting with animals. Apart from all the animals and plants, it has as a very good park. Specially for kids, it is a very nice place to go.

It was a fun excursion with my son who's 7. Most of the indoor interactive exhibits were closed (including pushing buttons on exhibits so he lost interest quickly. It is paid parking. There is a lunch room with tables indoors or outdoors so you can eat If you bring your own lunch. Outdoor park for the younger kiddos.

Awesome place to spend an afternoon and see so many farm animals. Many opportunities to learn as well. I'd definitely recommend a visit here with family and small kids.

Beautiful working farm & park right in the City of Ottawa.. Wonderful place to walk dogs on leash. Fletcher Wildlife Garden is a gem.. Ideal place to take pictures of all sorts of wildlife, etc...Gorgeous tall abundant trees and spectacular gardens. A must see & do for everyone! Don’t miss out!! ❤️

Great place to go for a leisurely stroll with lots of interesting things to see. You can ride your bike, jog or power walk and never be bored You see the fields, the barns & the gardens.

We went here a day before NYE and Alight at Night was a great experience. The whole place is beautifully lit up and it's about an hour long walk as you go from structure to structure. There is a Beaver Tails outlet which was crowded the whole time. At the exit there is a gift/ souvenir shop. All in all a good winter's night walk amidst twinkling lights!

Awesome place to hang out with the family... it's so educational and entertaining. We enjoyed the boat ride & the horse wagon ride. The musical show was really entertaining. The 4 ladies did an awesome job. Don't miss the activity center where you can try some traditional games and try out the classic costumes. It's probably not possible to see everything in a day with small kids, so we will be going back to check out the places we missed. Be prepared to walk a lot. Overall, it is highly recommended, especially for kids, to learn about how things were without electronics.

Absolutely beautiful! I do think the signs and directions upon entering could have been more clear and advertising that inside to do the activities like ornament decorating pr snack booth it is all cash only. The restaurant did take card though so that was helpful.

I loved my experience. Beautiful lights. You can tell alot of work was put into it. The washrooms were clean and the line up acceptable. Although I don't have children, I would think this place makes for a great family outing.

Beautiful place for a walk with lots of Christmas Lights! On the summer very nice place too for a park. On the halloween they have a called pumpkin inferno and they have all kinds of curve pumpkins. I highly recommended to visit the place. You can bring your friends, fury friend, family and relatives! They have a restaurant out there hot cocoa, turkey dinner, coffee and tea, they have home made soup and home made pies to grab. Friendly staff and clean environment. They have a gift shop to get souvenirs! Be prepared because parking are kind of sketchy to find a spot! But it is worth it!

Had a lovely day exploring this village, all of the staff and extremely nice and informative especially John the gardener and Shannon from the cafe. Our lunch was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this day trip.

If you love the country side you will definitely fall in love with this place! It's almost like going back to the old time, the staff still wear the traditional clothing of the time. So many antique pieces of furniture, clocks cutlery etc. It is very family friendly and it would take you the whole day to visit. The train wasn't operating this time, could be maintenance but we were so happy with the wagon ride on the horses and the ferry. Huge waterfront on the St. Lawrence River!!! You will be able to pet the horses and see cows and a demonstration of making bread from scratch in the bakery and how the antique chainsaw mill works as well as so many crafts of the time. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and patient answering all the questions with a smile on their face! Many rustic buildings, old church, school, seamstress and doctor's house, the post office, the old shop, the hall and many others... Parking and washroom available, stroller friendly and there is a store where you can buy souvenirs and freshly baked whole wheat bread. 1h15 minutes drive from Ottawa. Family package for 2 adults and 3 children is 80$+tax and toddlers for free. It is worth the visit! Highly recommend and will definitely visit again!

I hadn't visited Upper Canada Village since I was in grade school, and it was such a welcome surprise to have such a beautiful and immersive experience. We've visited as a family about three times in the past month and a half. The costumed interpreters are always friendly and inviting, not to mention an absolute wealth of knowledge. It seemed every time we visited there was a special event or programs running that really brings the village to life. We've had the privilege to experience a musical weekend where we saw and heard performers sharing music from the era they depict; 1860's. As well as the Fall Fair weekend, with more animals, food and fun than any usual operational day. And finally, we saw for the first time; the mind boggling experience of Pumpkin Inferno. Thousands of carved and lighted foam pumpkins, and plenty of real ones too; musical light displays, multiple photo ops and hot chocolate and treats make this family friendly event unforgettable!! Learning about the history of early Canada has never been so much fun.

Definitely a fan! Went several times with friends, family, and even the family dog, this place never disappoints! Last event was for the Pumpkin Inferno show (after dusk show), absolutely brilliant! We were lucky, the weather was perfect, mild and dry as this is an event that takes place rain or shine. The exhibitions are awesome. You cannot miss your entry time but after that you can visit the place at your own pace. Warmly recommended!

We have visited a few times as a family and each time has been really enjoyable and special. Both Summer and Winter events are worth checking out, but be sure to dress accordingly! We were thankful for every mitten and hat on our last visit during the Alight at Night event. The train was a lot of fun for our toddler, lots to do, and lots to see! Also, try the cheddar. So worth it. If you're able, try the bread too! I can't vouch for taste (since I'm celiac), but it smelled like the most perfect loaf of heaven.

Had a wonderful time with the family at Upper Canada Village. Lots to explore and transport yourself back to life in the 1800's. Interpreters were fantastic and very knowledgeable. you can take a boat ride to the far end of the property and then walk back as you explore all the village has to offer. There is a activity room where children can dress up in period clothing, play games and do a craft. Fresh bread is baked twice daily, 11 and 2 (it sells out fast). The train ride is an additional fee to the entrance ticket but worth adding on especially if you have children. I was very impressed that the train ride had a wheelchair accessible car at the front.

Excellent little village and a great representation of the era. I was most impressed with the fully functional wood mill. Powered with water and mid 1800s technology they can mill large logs into useable lumber. There is also a boat you can take that is horse drawn on a river, visit the bake shop and buy warm bread made the 19th century way. Most buildings have active demonstrations including the blacksmith, highly recommend this, very knowledgeable people here who know the roles they are representing.

Had a beautiful family time; going back to the 1800's. It was so interesting to see the technology from back in the day and learn about how different elements were transported to the current location. All the staff were extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable! They are the reason our visit was extremely worth every minute we spent. The most interesting things for us were the Fire Station and the Cook's Tavern- has some hilarious posters you won't want to miss. I was particularly impressed by the Chrysler Hall, where there's a section dedicated to recognizing Black Canadians. There are a few options to treat yourself to, including Beavertails. To get maximum value for your ticket, please plan to be there before afternoon. We missed out on a lot of sites or activities coz we went late afternoon.

I grew up pretty close to here but have taken me thirty years to come back for a visit. I am so glad we did! It is so nice to see it has not changed much and the staff are wonderful. Such a great place to bring kids and teach them a time before the computer chip. A time when any Canadian could change a part on any of these machines without having to rely on tech. Love it, ty. We went to see the Alight at night show and it was pure magic! All staff were very friendly, it is great to stroll in the village at night to the sound of Christmas music! Plus, for the people with children, there is a special section with many cool activities for them. Really worth the go! At the end, you can shop the boutique which has a beautiful selection of affordable Seasonal décor of quality, and snack on a beavertail of your choice. Hot beverages on the premices.

Been coming here for 40 years. Latest visit was for the "Alight at Night" festival. Amazing to see so many Christmas lights throughout the village. Definitely recommend visiting winter or summer

Excellent experience. A light Anight is amazing. Beautifully done. With the new ticketing method it is so easy to get in. Parking is plentiful. Small food places for hot beverages and washrooms in good places. Easily wheelchair accessible. Takes about 40 to 60 minutes to take it all in. Longer is you stop in the children's section and partake games.

We had an amazing time there! If you plan on going, don't just allow 1-2 hours, you can really spend the entire day there. There is so much to see, and the people working there are wonderful and they know all about their subject! You can see they are passionate and willing to share with the visitors. Bonus points too for the eco side of it! A lot of things run on water, and the flour they do in the mill is used for their bread, which you can buy at the gift shop! The site is clean, there are many activities to do, we will certainly go back to experience it fully again!
