2025 Ford Expedition Features F-150, Explorer Touches: Pics

Over the past several months, Ford Authority has spotted more than one 2025 Ford Expedition out testing, each wearing varying levels of camouflage. These sightings have given us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the big SUV’s forthcoming mid-cycle refresh, one that follows a previous makeover for the 2022 model year. Now, Ford Authority has spotted yet another 2025 Ford Expedition out testing, this time, giving us an even better look at the updated model’s 2024 Ford F-150 and 2025 Ford Explorer styling influences.

This new 2025 Ford Expedition prototype is wearing slightly less camo than any example we’ve seen to date, which reveals a front end design that looks quite a bit like the one present on the also-refreshed 2024 Ford F-150. Specifically, that portion of the large SUV resembles the STX, XLT, and Tremor trim levels up front, with similar headlights peeking through the camo, not to mention the grille design – which is also somewhat reminiscent of the one present on the redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger, to boot.

This comes as no surprise given the fact that the Expedition shares a platform and other mechanical bits and pieces with the F-150. However, once we get to the rear of this prototype, we also get a better look at the 2025 model’s new tailgate design, which looks quite a bit like the one present on the Everest (which isn’t sold in the U.S.), as well as the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer, too. We also get a much better look at the SUV’s brand new taillight design, which protrudes into the tailgate itself.

In addition to this new sneak peak at the forthcoming 2025 Ford Expedition, Ford Authority has also previously spotted a host of interesting and new details set to debut on that same model. This includes a rather large set of 24-inch wheels, the aforementioned new taillight design, and an overall rear aesthetic that’s somewhat Ranger Rover-like. Inside the cabin, the 2025 Ford Expedition is also getting some updates in the form of a revised design, a new infotainment screen, and perhaps even a coast-to-coast screen setup.

In terms of powertrains, it’s possible that the 2025 Ford Expedition – and its more luxurious platform mate, the Lincoln Navigator – will get hybrid options as part of the forthcoming refresh, as Ford Authority reported last October. If electrified options don’t arrive by then, a hybrid seems like a given at some point in the coming years, as the automaker recently announced that the entire Ford Blue lineup will offer that type of powertrain option by 2030.

We’ll have more on the 2025 Ford Expedition soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Expedition news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Idk why but everytime I see spy shots of the max version it looks longer than the current model despite the fact it looks like the same body. Probably just the camo messing with me.
