As we inch closer and closer toward a new era of Fortnite, players have begun to wonder when Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 will come out. Every Fortnite season brings with it a lot of hype and excitement as players anxiously await the opportunity to experience brand-new content. Let's go over the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 release date, rumours and leaks relating to Chapter 3 Season 2, and much more.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 began on December 5, 2021 — shortly after the Fortnite The End event. The Cube Queen unleashed terror on Apollo, resulting in Fortnite The Foundation and Agent Jonsey flipping the island on its axis, giving us Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped.

In the time since players have had the chance to experience Fortnite Winterfest 2021, the emergence of Fortnite tornadoes and lightning and Fortnite Klombos, various crossovers — including Fortnite Bruno Mars, and a series of themed Wild Weeks like Fortnite Avian Ambush Week. As you can see, Chapter 3 Season 1 has been action-packed up until the very end.

All in all, Chapter 3 Season 1 will have spanned 104 days. The inaugural season of Chapter 3 will end on March 19, 2022.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: When Does The New Fortnite Season Come Out?

Epic Games have now confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 will begin on Sunday, 20 March. Server downtime will start at 7am GMT (12am PT / 3am ET) with matchmaking disabled 30 minutes prior. Epic Games hasn't confirmed how long the downtime is expected but two hours is historically how long it has been between seasons.

This means it is highly unlikely there will be a Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 live event, with the transition from Season 1 to 2 proving rather anti-climatic.

Check out the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 patch notes for a breakdown of everything we can expect in the new update.

When a new season of Fortnite starts, the previous season is left in the dust. Below is a checklist of things Fortnite players will want to take care of before Chapter 3 Season 1 ends:

  • Collect Fortnite Feathers and unlock Haven's Masks. You'll no longer be able to unlock Haven's Mask styles when Chapter 3 Season 1 ends.

  • Collect Level Up Tokens and unlock the Monarch Set. Level Up Tokens like the ones at Fortnite Sunburned Shacks and Fortnite Tow-Away Beach will disappear at the start of next season. If you don't collect all of the Level Up Tokens before the season ends, the cosmetics in the Monarch Set will be locked away forever.

  • Unlock all Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass rewards and spend Fortnite Battle Stars. These items will be locked in perpetuity if not acquired before the season ends on March 19.

  • Spend Gold Bars. Your Gold Bar stash will not carry into Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2. To encourage spending, Fortnite will introduce a Bargain Bin Week starting March 15, 2022, at 3pm GMT. During this event, all Character services and Exotic items will trade at a discount.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: Leaks

Even though Chapter 3 Season 2 is just over a week away, there is not a whole lot that we currently know about the new season of Fortnite.

As we speak, the Imagined Order (IO) is drilling through the island in an attempt to surface on Artemis — AKA — The Flipside. When that happens, a war between the IO and The Seven will certainly occur. The IO vs. The Seven conflict may be the setting of Chapter 3 Season 2.

Alternatively, some believe that the new Fortnite season could be Star Wars themed. Epic Games CCO, Donald Mustard, has been dropping Fortnite X Star Wars hints for months now. Additionally, Fortnite Lightsabers and Lightsaber animations, VFX, data, melee combat, and gameplay abilities were all re-added to the game files.

The official theme of Chapter 3 Season 2 may still be unknown, but there's a long list of ideas supposedly planned for the new season. Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX released a list of content likely scheduled for Season 2. This list includes tanks, tactical sprint, a clamber mechanic, and more. Overall, Chapter 3 Season 2 is shaping up to be first-rate.

That's everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 and when this new season of Fortnite starts. Soak in the final days of Season 1 and prepare for a new age of Fortnite.
