Over the weekend the 2024 World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas featured the "world's hottest track star" as dubbed by fans.

Alica Schmidt, who has become a social media sensation with over five million followers on Instagram alone, ran for Germany in the mixed relay event and the women's 4x400-meter relay. Before the events kicked off, Schmidt took to Instagram with a message for her fans.

"Time to fight for our tickets for the Olympic Games ❤️‍🔥World relays starts tomorrow night, keep your fingers crossed 🤞🏼💯#paris2024 #bahamas #worldrelays #fromparadisetoparis," Schmidt wrote.

Fast forward to a few days later and it's time for Schmidt to celebrate. Germany qualified for the Olympics in the mixed relay, but her women's 4x400-meter relay failed to advance in this round.

She and the rest of the women's 4x400-meter relay will have another chance to punch their ticket at the European Championships in a few weeks.

"Olympic qualifiers with the mixed relay ❤️‍🔥😍💪🏼Sooo proud of this team and can’t wait what this year has still in store for us!🌪️Unfortunately we missed the qualification with the women‘s 4x4 but we go again at the European champs in a few weeks," Schmidt said on Instagram.

The 2024 Olympics Games in Paris officially kick off on July 26.
