This charming little Italian restaurant never fails to deliver. My partner ate the lasagna and I had the lemon chicken followed by homemade tiramisu (made with Baileys) all delicious and served in a warm friendly atmosphere. We will visit again before we go home

This was an enjoyable place to come and have a great evening. The food was over all very nice and the staff were very professional and authentic. We were a family group of 10 and the place is small but they made it work nicely....We were celebrating a special birthday and they were so nice to make a surprise desert with a candle and the whole kitchen came out slamming pots and pans singing happy birthday :) Top noch!More

Restaurant with funky interior and atmosphere. We went with the waiters recommendation and had the tasting menu so we were able to try a bit of everything. Lovely mixture of Italian tapas for starters and 3 different pasta dishes for the main all for a...very good price. Everything tasted really fresh and was delicious. I personally loved the ravioli that was on the menu. Perfect amount of food for us. Would definitely return!More

Tried here one night after the PR guy gave his 'rav review' but found it extremely disappointing. The waiter seemed uninterested in serving us at all and the food was poor. I had the lasagne and my husband had the lemon chicken which was served...with a few chips and only lukewarm. We had originally thought we would have a dessert as well but decided not to bother based on the quality of the main courses. If this is supposed to be authentic Italian food it is the poorest we have eaten. Would not return.More

Myself and friends have eaten here when on holidays in tenerife over the last couple of years and loved it. I brought my friend ( her first visit) here to dinner on Monday evening having given her rave reviews. The starter was very good. However...the mains were a huge let down, I had ravioli which was ok, my friend had gnocchi with prawns and asparagus which was inedible. ( on reflection we should have complained at this point ) I asked for the bill, the waiter pointed at my friends plate, she commented that she did not like it. He snatched the plates away and then returned and threw the box containing the bill on the table. No interaction with us, he was extremely rude. It was a very disappointing return visit. Having been here at least five times over the last few years.I am very surprised at the food and rude service that I received on monday. I will not be making a return visit.More

If ever proof was needed that, by walking literally just a few yards away from the Golden Mile, you can find better quality food and better value for money, then First Love is it. Situated down the side of Vista Sur, it’s an Italian restaurant,...owned by Italians. Tomato bruschetta is as simple a starter as you’ll come across. A generous serving of warm toasted baguette, topped with fully ripe finely chopped tomato. The other was an example of how the Italians do straightforward flavours without mucking about with the ingredients too much. Lightly fried mushrooms, a few prawns, flavoursome broth, a slice of toasted baguette for a bit of crunch. Spoon provided as well as knife & fork. Lasagne is a dish we’ve eaten here before and it’s delicious. The sort of dish you’d make at home on a day when you really put some effort into your cooking. It’s packed with deep savouriness. But no béchamel sauce. That may be the traditional way they make it wherever the owners come from – by the by, their menu refers to it as “lasagna”, which is how southern Italians usually spell it, while those from the north use the more familiar (to Britons) lasagne. Penne carbonara was outstanding. Not sloppy as too often the case in restaurants in the UK. This was a sauce that really clung to the pasta (which was properly “al dente”. And the use of a really smoky pancetta, gave it a lovely background contrast to the creaminess. Only one of us wanted dessert. Tiramisu. Two spoons were brought! A modern invention but now a classic of Italian cuisine. Another dish we’ve had here before. It’s fine but a bit overly sweet for my taste and it didn’t have the kick from booze and coffee that you expect. Good espresso followed. On past visits, the restaurant has always been busy. But not this time. There were a couple of tables occupied when we got there at 8pm, but they left soon after. No-one else came in after us. The owner said things has been quiet for a while and that has to be a worry for First Love’s long term future. Which would be shame – its quality would be sadly missed.More

I visited first love a few years ago, I was excited about going back it was beautiful back then. When we returned was very disappointed. Didn't really have much non alcoholic choices for drinks. 4.50 for sprite, lime and ice calling it a virgin mojito...is a bit excessive. We was more disappointed with the starter was poorly presented, poorly tasting no seasoning we literally could of made it much better ourselves at home nothing special at all considering it was the house special starter just consisted of cheap things you pick up at the supermarket. No one really checks back at this point. We decided we tried enough and went somewhere else for food.More

To get to those Italian we had to pass a very good Italian restaurant near our hotel. We asked for recommendations and followed the advice of Italian tapa style menu at €20 pp. We also chose the best red wine they had at €30 a...bottle (we drank less than a third of the bottle that they also served by the glass). The food was average and nothing more, not a single thing wowed us at all from the food served. The red wine that was recommended was below average (photo attached), we only drank what was less than a glass (charged for half a bottle €14) . We pointed out we didn't mind paying for a glass although was charged for 2. We were informed of a better bottle of wine and served a bottle at €40 which was better and a lot less acidic (photo attached). We also had a tiramisu also between us. The meal came to €103 in total, we think this was excessive. We have eaten at some lovely restaurants serving beautiful food all over the island and never paid this sum. If The bill had been considerably less then it we would have given a better rating. This mealMore

Tried it twice. The first time we booked and were directed to the “overhang” above the shopping centre. We declined. Always a good idea, pick a table inside. Insist. So, make sure the waiter agrees that the starter is separate from the main. First time...the garlic bread came with the mains, second the Carpaccio ( very good / 2 ) came separate. Wine by the glass is good size but the Chianti is gentler than the rather sharp Merlot. Now the bad news I ordered the prawns in Brandy. Mistake. Small portion, not the freshest, overcooked and if you are like me looking at the vein, these were the blackest and dirtiest veins I have been presented with in several continents. So I left most. €14 per plate. They saw what I had left, no question as to why or apology or refund. I probably should have complained but sometimes you are just so tired. To be absolutely fair, the home made ravioli and tiramisu my husband adored It’s such a shame because I love small restaurants in corners. But.... be careful what you order, I was so very disappointed, twice.More

If such was needed, First Love is another example that you only need to move a few metres away from the “Golden Mile” to find better food – and cheaper too. Since we were last here, this small Italian owned restaurant seems to have consolidated...its reservations into two sittings – a bit early at 7pm and a bit late at 8.30. We went early. The new system seems to be working. It was full. And, as time got on, folk were turned away, presumably the table that had just emptied being reserved for an 8.30 customer. It’s a short menu – maybe half a dozen starters and may a dozen main courses, of which half are pasta. For one starter, king prawns in garlic oil. The heads are in the bowl for those who suck them. A selection of bruschetta for the other. One topped simply with chopped tomato, another with a really flavoursome caponata and the third with ham and mozzarella. Gnocchi came in a flavorsome tomato sauce, with basil and mozzarella. Orecchiette was a dry dish with small chunks of sausage and broccoli dressing the pasta. I’ve had this dish at a place near home and it’s a cracker. Parmesan gave it a little creaminess. Both of these were simple dishes but all the better for it. Tiramisu is my favourite Italian dessert and I’ll always order it in a new place. First Love isn’t new for us but I’d forgotten how there version was. It was fine. In itself a lovely bowl of sweet creaminess but lacking the real kick from coffee and booze that the top versions have. Vanilla pannacotta was also fine with just the right amount of wobble. There’s a little whipped cream , sliced strawberries and an OK strawberry sauce. Coffee was good,as you’d expect in an Italian gaff.More

After visiting another restaurant, we passed by First Love, on our way back to the Cleopatra Palace, and were impressed with the Menu so we decided to visit on the last night of our holiday. We began with the mixed Italian starter, followed by Ravioli...‘First Love’, finishing with home made tiramisu. (See photos) They say “you eat with your eyes” and hopefully the photos do that saying justice. They can show the beautiful presentation, but unfortunately cannot begin to experience the sumptuous aroma and taste of each course. All delivered by a very enthusiastic, cheerful staff. It was a perfect romantic last night dinner to round off a great holiday. Thanks to everyone at First Love.More

We are here twice and both times were excellent. The food is amazing… I don’t know whether you would get better Italian food anywhere else. The staff were so good and helpful, when my mother in law and I mentioned we were cold they got...us blankets to wrap around our shoulders. The Resturant is very small ( approx 6-7 tables) so I would recommend bookingMore

We have been visiting First Love as a family for years. It remains our favourite restaurant on the island and we consider it a must visit when we give friends recommendations. The owners are fantastic and happy to recommend food and wine. The raviolli moncicci...is outstanding. We will be back again and again.More
