Chic: Live At The Budokan is a live Chic album featuring Simon Le Bon, released by Sumthing Else / Videoarts Music on 23 February 1999.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Chic live at the Budokan in Tokyo (Japan), on April 17 1996. This was the very last performance by fellow Chic member and Power Station producer Bernard Edwards, who died later that night. The concert was a celebration of the Chic legacy and featured an all-star line-up with guest appearances by Simon Le Bon, Sister Sledge, Slash from Guns N' Roses and Steve Winwood.
The recording was released three years after the concert and includes spoken introductions by both Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers. The Japanese edition of the album includes Chic and Simon Le Bon's performing "Notorious", which was edited from other country versions. Chic: Live At The Budokan also includes "Le Freak" with guitarist Slash, a song Duran Duran later covered during the band's Summer Tour in 2009.
