Seemingly autobiographical story of a woman overwhelmed with trying to please everyone except herself, and not finding any answers until she's admitted to a rehab center by her parents. Eventually here is where she finds her answers.
A bizarre, batshit, largely self-financed vanity project written and directed by and starring Dyan Cannon.
She claims it’s not autobiographical but feels that way. It opens with her character’s birth (a POV shot of the camera flying through the birth canal!) and sexual awakening. Young Dyan is played by the tragically murdered actress Rebecca Schaeffer in her final role. She’s onscreen for about 5 minutes to be quickly deflowered by pre-TÁR Todd Field.
When adult Dyan (called “Stephanie”) appears, she’s pining over a gaslighting boyfriend and develops an addiction to pot, pills, and ice cream. These scenes are Lifetime-caliber hysterical and the best thing in the movie.
She’s then carted off to rehab for group therapy sessions led by shrink…
