With the Thursday deadline looming, Talen-Horton-Tucker had a decision to make on his player option.
Late on Tuesday night, the Utah Jazz shooting guard opted in for next season, netting him $11 million in salary in the process, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
"Talen Horton-Tucker is opting into his $11 million deal with the Utah Jazz for next season, agent Rich Paul says."
Tucker, 22, spent the first three seasons of NBA career with Los Angeles Lakers, who took him second round in the 2019 NBA Draft, before the team traded him to Utah Jazz for Patrick Beverley and Stanley Johnson, two players no longer on the Lakers roster.
During his first season with the rebuilding Jazz in 2022, Tucker averaged 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists on 42 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent shooting from long distance in 20.2 minutes.
Nobody can blame the youngster for securing the bag.
