FILM CREWS HAVE SHUT DOWN SEVERAL STREETS IN WORCESTER ALL WEEK, INCLUDING THIS RIGHT HERE MECHANIC STREET, BUT PEOPLE DON’T SEEM TO MIND MUCH. THEY’RE THRILLED TO SEE THIS LARGE PRODUCTION HERE AND GET A SNEAK PEEK OF DEAD CITIES STAR ACTORS. BOY, THE HEART OF MASSACHUSETTS TRANSFER COMING INTO AN APOCALYPTIC MANHATTAN. IT’S BEEN ABSOLUTELY INSANE. HOLLYWOOD’S CAMERAS TAKING OVER WORCESTER FILMING AMC’S HIT SHOW DEAD CITY SEASON TWO. MECHANIC STREET NOW A ZOMBIE CROSSING. I SAW A ZOMBIE I DID. YEAH, I GOT ONE ON ON VIDEO. SO YEAH, THESE DEAD PEOPLE WALKING ARE FRIENDLIER HERE. UNLIKE ON YOUR SCREENS, IT’S EXCITING TO SEE A MAJOR PRODUCTION IN ACTION. JOFFRE SMITH’S FINANCE BUSINESS TURNING INTO A DUSTY, ABANDONED SUIT SHOT FOR THE SHOW, HIRED A LOT OF LOCAL PEOPLE, SO IT HELPS STIMULATE THE LOCAL ECONOMY. LOCALS GATHERING AROUND AND HOPING TO MEET THE STARS. NEGAN IS ON THE ISLAND LIKE JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN, WHO WAS ON SET TODAY. HE’S VERY NICE, DOWN TO EARTH. HE LOOKS VERY EXCITED TO SEE ME. SO I MEAN, HOLLYWOOD FANS IN ALL OF THE PRODUCTION. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE SHOW TO BE RELEASED SOMETIME NEXT YEAR. THIS HAS BEEN LIKE A DREAM TO WATCH THEM FILM IN PERSON. I’M HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO SEE THIS AND SEE THAT WORCESTER, YOU KNOW, CAN CAN BRING SOMETHING TO HOLLYWOOD IN A WAY THAT WE CAN WATCH AND BE PROUD. AND THE ZOMBIES WILL BE STICKING AROUND WORCESTER FOR SEVERAL MORE DAYS. UNION STATION WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY FOR MORE FILMING OF SCENES.

The Massachusetts city known as the Heart of the Commonwealth was transformed into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan on Monday, as crews did some filming for the second season of "The Walking Dead: Dead City."Production shut down several streets in Worcester. The sets included abandoned storefronts, dust-covered cars and a fair share of actors portraying zombies."I saw a zombie. I did," said Worcester resident Akosua Agyepong. "I got one on video.""It's been absolutely insane," said Worcester resident Aleksa Thomas.Joffrey Smith had his finance business turned into a dusty, abandoned suit shop for Monday's shoot."It's exciting to see a major production in action," Smith said. "They've hired a lot of local people, so it's helped stimulate the local economy."The first season of "Dead City," the sequel series of the hit AMC television series "The Walking Dead," debuted in June 2023 and stars Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan from the original series.Morgan was spotted on the Worcester set Monday and stopped to meet with fans who stopped by."He's very nice, down-to-earth," said Owusuaa Onyinah, who took a photo with Morgan. "He looked very excited to see me.""This has been like a dream to watch them film in person," said Brittany Young."I'm happy to be able to see this and see that Worcester can bring something to Hollywood in a way that we can watch and be proud," Agyepong said.The Worcester shoot for "The Walking Dead: Dead City" is scheduled to continue for several more days.
