Ben Cheng Tsun Yin (Chinese: 程浚彥; born 17 July 1994[2]), stage name Tyson Yoshi, Hong Kong independent male singer and songwriter, and MV director. He made his debut in 2018 with the song "To My Queen".

Career[edit]

Tyson Yoshi attended Sedbergh School in the UK and later studied interior architecture at the University of Brighton. In 2018, he started music creation in Taiwan and debuted with his first song "To My Queen". [3] In July 2019, he became famous with "Christy",[4] which he wrote to his girlfriend. Which was his first song that surpassed 1 million views on YouTube. [5]

The name "Tyson Yoshi" comes from his English abbreviation "T.Y". Tyson is the name one of his middle school classmates calls him, and Yoshi is the English name of "Yoshinoya". [6][7]

Tyson Yoshi started as an independent singer in 2018.His first album, 1st, was then released in 2019.[8] He is one of Hong Kong's best-known hip hop artists and rappers, with over 2 million streams on Spotify in more than 100 countries in 2019, one of the highest of any Hong Kong artist.[9][10][11] In 2021, his popularity surged again after he performed "拉闊音樂會風火雷電" with Terence Lam, Keung To and Jer Lau. [4]As of 2022, Tyson Yoshi's song "Christy" named after his girlfriend has more than 20 million views on the MV.[12]
