For those wondering, signing Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season means the Suns’ 15-man playoff roster is set. Saben Lee, Ish Wainright or Udoka Azubuike were in contention for that 15th spot, but none of them will be playoff-eligible as two-way contracts – 7:46 PM

More on this storyline
ClutchPoints asked Devin Booker, the Suns’ star guard, what Isaiah Thomas has meant to the team. “The ultimate teammate, ultimate professional, just ultimate hooper,” said Booker, who is averaging 27.6 points and 6.9 assists in his ninth season. “Somebody in the past that I’ve always had a lot of respect for, but I’ve never got to develop a relationship like we are now. I don’t take it for granted. I know what he’s capable of.” -via Clutch Points / April 4, 2024
Isaiah Thomas is extending his stay with the Phoenix Suns. The 35-year-old veteran point guard is signing a second 10-day with the Suns. “Super thankful,” Thomas said before Friday’s 128-103 loss at Oklahoma City. “I’m appreciative of the opportunity. I’m thankful. I’m happy I’m here in any way I can.” Thomas’ first 10-day ended Friday. “He’s been a really important voice,” Suns coach Frank Vogel said before Friday’s game. “Two-time All-Star that guys respect and he’s got a high IQ. So he can point out things that we can do better, we’re not doing well enough. Everybody in the locker room respects him and likes him and his voice carries weight. That’s what you want with guys in those type of roles.” -via Arizona Republic / March 30, 2024
The Suns initially signed Thomas largely due to backup point guard Saben Lee having just four games left as a two-way player. Vogel said Thomas will likely remain the team’s third point guard. “We’ll see,” Vogel said. “As long as we’re fully healthy, he’ll be in the same spot.” … “I don’t have anything to prove,” said Thomas when asked before Friday’s game what he needs to do to play. “When it’s time, they know what I bring. I’m just going to stay ready, stay super positive knowing that whether I play or not, I can make an impact, a winning impact, but whenever my name is called, I’m going to be ready to do my thing.” -via Arizona Republic / March 30, 2024
