Accepted by the JFMC for missionary work at Ingwenya, Zimbabwe. Arrived in Zimbabwe on 4th August 2005, taking services there and elsewhere in Zimbabwe as a Probationer until Immigration formalities were completed. Ordained and inducted to the Ingwenya congregation by the Zimbabwe Presbytery on 13th July 2007. Ingwenya 2007-2017. Assisted in the Kenya Mission on several occasions. Resignation from the Ingwenya charge accepted by the Zimbabwe Presbytery on 2nd November 2017 on the grounds of serious illness. Inducted to Perth on 4th September 2020, died in Perth on 9th October 2023. Perth 2020-2023. Buried at Wardlaw Cemetery, Kirkhill.

Edwin Radasi (c. 1913-c. 1980). Second son of J.B. Radasi (below). Came to Scotland in July 1932 aged 19 and studied at Ardgay school. Supplied in Kinlochbervie while a student for the ministry in the 1940s. Licensed on 17th October 1944 and ordained by Northern Presbytery in Lairg, 1st December 1944. Performed a marriage in Inshegra in c. 1945. Returned to Zimbabwe (S. Rhodesia) in April 1946. Stationed in Zenka for two years. Moved to Ingwenya in 1948. Married c. 1949, his wife being a Xosa from South Africa (with no FP connexion and dissatisfied with FP form of worship). Caught up in strife surrounding Rev. A. Cattanach in 1951-52 and in early nationalist movement. Formed a large, separate congregation at Ingwenya and severed connexion May 1953. Deposed by Synod, 21st May 1953. Continued to live near Ingwenya, ministering to congregations in the African Free Presbyterian Church of Zimbabwe until his death. He was “a very gentle, quietly spoken man who was so polite” (Miss C. Tallach). Survived by his wife, who was a powerful woman, and succeeded as minister of the congregations by a son.

They had three children, Ewen, David and Hugh James (d. aged eight months). Still an irregular student in 1908 but not mentioned in Northern Presbytery minutes after February of that year. He took Free Presbyterian services in Bonar Bridge in the 1930s; buried Fodderty.
James Cameron
Thomas Russell Cameron (1884-1982) communicant member in Inverness; accepted as student by Northern Presbytery 22nd June 1906; Free Presbyterian student December 1909, May 1910, taking services in London (FPM, Vol. 14, p.288; Vol. 15, p.39); preached at Hyde Park Corner (see FP Synod Proceedings, 1969, pp. 27-8), surprised at hostile reception; turned Arminian and went to New Zealand; did a year of home mission work in Auckland for the PCNZ in 1913, but then found in Brethren circles and with the Baptists in the mid-1920s. Promoted himself greatly (see an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, 17th August 1935). A man of the same name from Auckland, NZ, received by the Free Church as minister without charge on 21st November 1934 (presumably the same man). Went from New Zealand to Australia in 1935 and gave supply in Geelong and Sydney for the PCEA. Banned from PCEA pulpits on account of Arminian theology and the division caused. Returned to New Zealand where he died in 1982.
Peter Munro Chisholm (1884-1957) born 24th January 1884, Gravir; student; left Free Presbyterian Church 1912; set up independent services—the Chisholmites continued in Achmore until 1980s; joined Free Church 1921; publications; died 1st July 1957; buried Gravir (FC Fasti; FPM, Vol. 18, pp. 32-3; Scottish Reformation Society Historical Journal, Vol. 2 (2012) pp. 275-291).
Rev. Peter Chisholm
Alan Gibson (1916-1979), born 30th July 1916 in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. Attended Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. Married Catharine Josephine Newton (1923-1988); five children. Attended university. Geography teacher at Rhyddings Secondary Modern School in Oswaldtwistle, at Royston Modern Boys School near Notton (Yorkshire), in Keighley (West Yorkshire), in South Uist, and in Inverness Technical College. Received as student by Northern Presbytery 21st May 1946. His aunt was married to a Dutch elder, and he had some Dutch, and in July 1947 he received an invitation from Turner Avenue Netherlands Reformed congregation, Grand Rapids to supply there. Not being granted permission by the Synod, he resigned as a student and went to Grand Rapids for six months in December 1948. There was a division over him and he did not receive a call. In 1950 he visited the Netherlands and met several ministers but still no call was forthcoming. He returned to England, living in Oswaldtwistle from 1957 until his death on 4th January 1979. Resumed attendance at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, “although in his later life he was not really an active member”. A heavy smoker and died of throat cancer.
