Source clip with multiple audio tracks

PostSun Apr 03, 2016 4:02 pm

I have a source .mov clip with multiple stereo audio tracks in it, the idea being that each track needs to be handled slightly differently before being combined in a single stereo track in the output. Resolve only seems to see the first stereo track embedded in the clip, however. Is there any way to have it pull in more than one of the embedded stereo tracks?

Thanks.

Hmmm...all should be read.
Are they discrete tracks or 1 multichannel track?

They're discrete stereo tracks. I can switch between them when playing the clip in VLC, but Resolve seems to not see them.

Maybe try changing them to discrete mono tracks with QT 7 PRO (not sure if you can actually do it). Telestream Switch can.

A workaround is to peel the audio tracks off as WAV files (maybe with VLC?)and re-import them and re-sync them in the mediapool as separate tracks.

I do find Resolve still wants to group and poly independent tracks together in QT formats...whats wrong with delivering a quadraphonic or 15.1 audio mix

This is what I've decided to do for the time being, I'm extracting them with ffmpeg. I messed about with the stream data and did get to a place where Resolve saw the multiple streams but the audio playback was choppy. I'll stick with the WAV workaround for now. Thanks for the help everyone.

just go into clip attributes/audio and set channel format to adaptive.

Audio track should be set to the number of stereo pairs, audio channels should be set to 2.

If you need any more information it's all there in the manual, though be aware that the audio side of Resolve isn't exactly that great right now.

I did try that, and Resolve only offered me two embedded channels to choose from.

How do you peel off stereo audio tracks as wav files with VLC?
I recorded two separate audio tracks with my camera. D.R reads one. How do you get it to read two separate tracks
