I’ve always loved eating at this eatery whenever I’m in HK. Due to lockdown I’ve not been here for 3/4 years. Food standard is good but definitely not as great as before. Maybe the crowd adds to the haste of food preparation. There’s even a 45 minutes dining duration. Overall I’d give it a 4 stars instead of 5

Winter is the best time for tons of delicious local food. Other than hotpot and clay pot rice that might require some buddies for sharing, sticky rice is a nice option for solo diners. Keung Kee has a long standing history of serving delicious local food since 1950, and it has been on the Michelin food guide for local snacks since 2016. Visiting Keung Kee for a quick dinner on a cool December evening is the perfect thing to do. This Assorted Sticky Rice I ordered was definitely up to its fame. The sticky rice was nicely cooked, none was undercooked and chewy! Amazing! The pieces of processed sausage and mushroom made delicious toppings for the sticky rice. Also, the whole bowl of rice was rightly seasoned. No wonder it won the Michelin recommendation!

Their specialties are glutinous rice with Chinese sausages/pork bellies/liver sausage 臘味糯米飯 $39. Then various desserts including mixed beans sweet soup 喳咋 $28, mung bean dessert 綠豆沙$24 etc. I had tried them all in past many visits. All of these are commonly found in HK, may not be all in the same stall. As for being Michelin recommended street/snack food, I don't find them to be that superior to competitors. There are stores that's better and some are worse. That just means as visitors you have tons of options when it comes to food in HK. If you are in the area by all means try these kind of local favorites. I wouldn't go out of the way to come here. On this visit, I had the cold bean curd sheet dessert drink 腐竹糖水 $24, norm for Wanchai, but it was a little high and disappointing as everything was dissolved and you really can't find any bean curd sheet. Also being street food stall, under hot and humid summer time it can be quite brutal eating there.

This local gem has been around since 1950 serving local comfort food. Their star products include Glutinous rice with Chinese salami and mushrooms, mung beans soup (and a few other puddings) congees, fried noodles and more. Two words describe their yummy food: CONSISTENT QUALITY. My family and I have been going there for years. They haven't missed a beat. It is a place for connoisseurs. If you want to appreciate what comfort food local HK people are crazy about on a day to day basis, this is the place to go. Be prepared that the place is barebone basic. You basically come, eat and go. Cheap and cheerful.

Found this gem of street food stall with Michelin Star at Wan Chai, HK. Simple ubiquitous food and desserts at affordable prices but all perfectly done. The Glutinous Rice was piping hot with two types of fresh lup cheongs, and their Fried Bee Hoon was tasty without much MSG. It comes with lotsa vegetables too! The desserts were so good that I had second and third helpings. Their desserts were so finely grinded that you can just sip them without chewing.

For 6.5 euro had some nice fried shrimp noodles. I was the only tourist sitting there but they were friendly and brought a spoon and a fork probably due to my chopsticks skill not being on point lol. Free WiFi. Fast service and only went there cause I arrived late and this was closed to my hotel and still opened. Not memorable but very generous portion and in Hong Kong it's hard to get bad food anywhere anyway. Only after I ordered did i find out they were listed on last year Michelin Street food guide.

Unlike the others "Siew Mei " roasts meat restaurant around. Keung Kee has more seatings & spacious. Service is friendly & free WiFi is also available. Soy sauce chicken is much better than the roast goose. They need to improve on their plum sauce.

Forget everything you know about Chinese food if you live in the west. I came here because of the Michelin list and followed the recommendation to try the glutinous rice with Chinese sausage. The rice is cooked on a large grill in which it sits keeping warm. My western eyes expected to get more food but the portion I got was adequate. It looked and smelled delicious and while I initially planned to take it home for dinner I decided to try it as it was piping hot. My first bite was delicious and then the second as well. In the third I got some of the sausage and actual flavours of the dish and here's where it became different. The flavour and aroma were quite unexpected. I can't describe the taste of the sausage except that it was something I had never had and my taste buds did not know how to feel about it. It was very pungent. The rice itself was chewy and flavourful which I enjoyed. I am glad I got the chance to try something different and I would go again.

I have gone back to Keung Kee a number of times because I like it a lot and I will definitely recommend it to friends. It has authentic, very nutritious and yummy Chinese food available. The venue is a tacky, cheap, bright and cheerful sort of place, it is very informal. The food is perfectly safe to eat, even though the restaurant itself does not look posh. Low cost and high quality! The staff seem to have some cordial banter with the local folks and that's nice in a city full of as*holes. Go there! You must not miss the experience!

Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
