Andrew Garfield set to star opposite Julia Roberts in new Luca Guadagnino thriller, ‘After the Hunt’

The Amazing Spider-Man actor, Andrew Garfield has tracked down a a lead role alongside Julia Roberts, in a new thriller, which is reportedly set to release in theaters next year. The film is being directed by visionary Luca Guadagnino and is being produced by Amazon MGM.

Luca’s forthcoming feature has been written by Nora Garrett, with Imagine Entertainment’s Allan Mandelbaum and Brian Grazer set to produce the film in company with Guadagnino’s Frenesy banner (production house).

The intense drama thriller, ’After the Hunt’ delves into the gripping tale of a college professor confronting both personal and professional dilemmas. As her world is rocked when a top student accuses a colleague, while a haunting secret from her own history looms dangerously close to exposure.

With Imagine acquiring the script earlier this year, the project has generated significant interest, attracting numerous A-list directors and stars. Having Guadagnino and Roberts on board, Amazon swiftly secured the film, leveraging the star power already attached. It comes as no shock that talents like Garfield are now joining the ensemble cast.

The two time Oscar nominee, Garfield, with Tony and Golden Globe awards will be seen next in the A24 and Studio Canal’s “We Live in Time”, a romantic film, alongside “Dune: Part 2” actor, Florence Pugh. The actor also starred in FX’s “Under the Banner of Heaven,” which gained him his first Emmy nomination.

Garfield’s costar in the upcoming thriller, Julia Roberts was last seen in the Netflix thriller, “Leave the World Behind,” joining “Moonlight” (2016) actor, Maharshala Ali and the “Before trilogy,” Ethan Hawke.

Luca Guadagnino best known for his romance/drama “Call Me by Your Name” released his latest project “Challengers” last month with “Euphoria” and “Dune” star Zendaya as the lead with Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist. The film has a cumulative global gross of around $69 million dollars.
