Good food and friendly people. I had the roast vegetable with chicken Panini and my wife had the chicken Caesar salad. Both were very delicious. They have a coffee bar that made an excellent oat milk latte. Spacious and dog friendly.

Waimea Bay Beach is a very popular, wide and clean beach on the North Shore of Oahu. It is located at the mouth of the Waimea River into the Pacific Ocean and is particularly popular with surfers in the winter months due to the high waves. This beach offers the opportunity to watch turtles in the water or jump from the cliffs into the deep water. Toilets, showers and picnic tables as well as a lifeguard are also available. Unfortunately, parking options on the beach are very limited and it is advisable to arrive early or to find nearby parking spaces, although these involve a short walk. We drove the entire North Shore with our rental car, which is no problem on the well-developed Kamehameha Highway, so you can get from one well-known surf spot to the next. Don't miss Waimea Bay Beach when you take a trip to the North Shore!!

This was our last stop on our North Shore adventure from Waikiki. We hoped to make it to the beach by sunset, but we were only able to catch the tail end. Regardless, it was a great beach!

Sharks Cove has a really neat spread of tidal pools that are great for beginner snorkelers, kids and really anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the sights.

Out past the edge of the tidal pools, you’ll also find a great scuba dive site that includes tons of reef, exotic fish, sea turtles, small sea caves and a few spots that decend down to about 40 to 50 feet.

A few things to consider.. parking is pretty limited here so be patient or be early given the sites popularity. Bring an appetite since there are several great food trucks right across the street. Lastly, this place is typically nice and calm in the summer/fall months, but in the winter time when the north shore surf revs up it can be a totally different ballgame.. a dangerous one. Bottom line, in Jan or Feb when a big swell is crashing though, it definitely wouldn’t be safe to snorkel or dive here.

Bottom line, this place is a North Shore gem and you should definitely check it out, but plan ahead, do your homework by checking the weather, surf forecast tides and be safe.

We dropped by Laniakea Beach because I read that turtles can be spotted here. We were not disappointed. Although there was only 1 turtle on the beach, it was a big one and we were so glad to even see 1! There were quite a lot of people here for the turtle but no one got close since the turtle was roped off with signs to leave it alone.

There was a lifeguard on duty but the waves were pretty strong. I don't know how many people actually go swimming here during this time of year.

Could watch these big waves all day! Such an amazing place. There is a washroom and park nearby as well. Fun to watch the surfing too!

Regardless of whether you’re staying at Turtle Bay Resort, a beach day at the famous Turtle Bay is a must while on the North Shore.

The beach is on a semi-protected bay with great views of the vast ocean in the background and seems to have a very calm surf (at least in the spring and summer).

Beach access parking is available for those driving in but arrive on the early side if coming on the weekend. A couple bonus features are an awesome Roy Yamaguchi affiliated restaurant right on the beach and a network of hiking trails near the beach to offer a scenic workout before taking a dip.

With shallow lying reef, this is also a surprisingly good place to snorkel and hosts a wide variety of fish and coral. However, there is probably a higher concentration of sea urchins here embedded into the reefs when compared to a lot of other snorkel spots so swim cautiously. To be fair, no one should be touching or stepping on the reefs anyway, so if you keep your distance as you should, you’ll be totally fine.

Lastly, Turtle Bay and the North Shore in general can get very windy at times so bringing an extra dry shirt, light blanket or towel to cover up is a reasonable preparatory move.

    Enjoy this beautiful place!

This is a small park along the Circle Island route but a great stop to view the tide pools with tables for lunch (there’s a Foodland across the street) and, fortunately, clean bathrooms (since Foodland won’t let you use theirs. We found out the hard way!)

So fabulous! The power of the Pacific!
It was worth looking for but only about 6-7 cars fit there and it's a residential area so please be mindful.

Amazing beaches. Many beach options with parking lots or roadside parking available. Come early AM to find parking. It gets busy by 10

Been here a couple of times and the snorkelling is really good. Better than Hanauma bay in my opinion. Definitely a lot easier to get into the sea as it’s unlimited and free.
As special thank you to Che or possibly Cha who helped me out today. I fell on the rocks and dislocated my finger. He got a rope necklace out of his van and wrapped it around my finger then he and I pulled and relocated the knuckle. It’s now black and blue but at least I can move it again!!
I don’t know if he will read this but if you do thank you very much. Or if anyone reads this who knows Che who drives a van say thank you from me please.
