Maureen Shanahan

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and John Anderson, her dear sister Maree Hill, her beloved daughter Fiona Watson and equally beloved son-in-law Allan Watson.

Maureen left Belfast in 1957 and set out on the adventure of a lifetime to marry the love of her life Godfrey. They were married for 66 years.

Devoted mother to Eamon, Kevin (Bev) Sean (Jill) and Joanne. Cherished Grandmother to Jeffrey, Allan (Michelle), Bradley (Lauren), Megan (Mitch), Emma, Caitlin and Abby. Loving Great Grandmother to Owen, Taylor and Ty.

Maureen will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews here in Canada and all her family overseas in Belfast, Edinburgh and Manchester. The Hills, The Mills, The Stewarts and the Shanahans. Many fond memories shared here and across the pond.

The Scarborough General Hospital was her favourite place of employment. Working as the nursery ward secretary, her colleagues and friends remember Maureen for her kind nature, sense of humour and contagious laugh.

A memorial visitation for Maureen will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Jerrett Funeral Home -660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A memorial mass will occur Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1300 Leslie Street, North York, Ontario M3C2K9.
