It’s Kevin and Cassidy, together again! Justin Hartley and Jennifer Morrison, whose characters enjoyed a memorable friendship on NBC’s This Is Us, will reunite in the Season 1 finale of CBS‘ Tracker.
Hartley recently let slip to Collider that Morrison would appear on the show in a “key role,” playing “an old family friend of [Colter’s] from way back when they were kids.” He teased: “That whole family dynamic leaks out a little bit through her experience with him in the finale.”
So, how do Hartley and Morrison’s characters cross paths? Airing on Sunday, May 19 (9/8c), the show’s first season finale finds Colter investigating the disappearance of two storm chasers — one of whom is the daughter of Morrison’s Lizzy Hawking, an old family friend — believed by local police to have accidentally drowned. But there’s always more to the story, so Hartley’s character makes sure to “uncover the seedy underbelly of a small town resort” in the process.
Morrison is the latest in a series of significant castings for the CBS procedural. Not only did Hartley’s real-life wife Sofia Pernas guest-star as a fellow tracker earlier this season, but the show recently announced that Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) will appear on May 12 as Colter’s estranged brother Russell, and Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest) made her debut on May 5 as Colter’s sister Dory.
Tracker, which premiered after the Super Bowl to 18.4 million viewers, was renewed for a second season in March.
Now that’s great casting! Loved their chemistry in This is Us.
Am I the only one who looking at the food in that picture and thinking what they eating don’t like satisfying
Nope. Corn, salad, and what appears to be chicken fried steak slathered in gravy. Pretty filling and satisfying.
Couldn’t stand her on This is Us. Her character was awful and they just didn’t fit together. They could have definitely gotten someone better from there to guest star.
My feelings too! She was all wrong on This Is Us. Maybe she’ll be better on Tracker.
I agree also, hated her character on This is Us.
And another actress that I like will be on Tracker. This show has the best guest stars on TV
Guess Jennifer just can’t quit British Columbia :)
Does this show have an unlimited casting budget?!
It does now.

I have to think that the net saw the first few eps and were thrilled. I think the big name guest stars are because they’ll recur next year, with an eye towards a spinoff.
.
CBS loves its theme days. NCIS on Monday, FBI on Wednesday, Fire Country on Fridays this fall. I think they’d love a Trackerverse on Sunday, leading out of FB.
.
Tracker has done well. If spun off well, the entire franchise could generate 500 eps over the next 7ish years, and make billions before it is all said and done.
Tracker has been a breath of fresh air after seasons of the same boring shows. CBS definitely has control of the audiences with all their shows. However, I have lost interest in Fire Country. Disappointed NCIS, Hawaii was cancelled.
To me, it’s like Fire Country is on repeat. How many ways to tell the same story? We’ve stopped watching. Can’t believe they kept it and cancelled NCIS: Hawaii.
Season two of Fire County has been a huge disappointment. Literally nothing has happened of any real substance. In season one, Third Rock was more the focus, season two has been all about poor Bode’s man pain.
Love this show!
All the Gen x female viewers want Jensen Ackles to join the cast full time. 😀
