    Definitely worth a visit
The museum is located in downtown Santa Fe. Well run and nicely laid out. Has different exhibits and chronicles the life of the artist. I expected a few more pieces but a very nice sampling of her work is available.

    Museum must see
A must see if you visit Santa Fe. The museum is well organized and tells a great story about the artist. Make sure to make reservations in advance, only a few walk ups are admitted.

    Well Paced/ Laid Out Museum
We were in Santa Fe 1.5 years ago and learned to get tickets in advance as they were sold out last time. You can reserve them online 1 month before your visit. We did that and it was easy to get started on our walk through the museum at 1 pm. We opted to just walk through without paying for the audio tour. The museum was well laid out and included both the artist’s works and artifacts. Plaques throughout the museum were informative and in Spanish and English. Employees were circulating and offered tidbits of knowledge as well. We finished our walk through ~45 minutes. Definitely recommend this museum for those who appreciate art, but may not be art aficionados 🙂

A Very Cool Museum to Visit
Learned about Georgia O'Keefe back in an art history class in University, and I really enjoyed learning even more about her, and seeing so many of her paintings in person. Take the self guided audio tour if you want to learn more :) We were in summer, there were a lot of other tourists, make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time online. Highly recommend a visit here while in Santa Fe.

    Small museum.
A small museum which seems to be missing the more familiar famous works which are held at other museums around the country. I did enjoy seeing her clothing as she was known for her unique look in addition to her paintings. A little disappointing in terms of number of her works, it feels like you are missing the best of her.

An excellent, quick stop to learn more about Georgia O'Keefe's art and life
A small museum, but nice. There is an app with an audio tour to do on your phone, but you can also just read the transcript for each stop if you prefer. I didn't realize how few of her paintings were of the flowers she is best known for. A great way to get a taste of Georgia O'Keefe's work. I did not reserve tickets ahead and was able to walk right in.

    More than Art
Not only amazing art, but arranged chronologically over the artist's life. You get to understand the feelings and experiences that made the work possible. This museum is so much more than art on display. There is a free audio guide that works through an app on your phone and a Bluetooth earpiece. Learn how to get it before you go at Visitor Information on their website.

    Georgia shines
This is an expanded museum from the one we visited 20 years ago, and it is wonderful. This wonderful collection of her art is surrounded by the stories of her long life, with books and artifacts to add to the history. Audio tour available, nice gift shop, parking across the street.

Mildly disappointing and rather expensive for what it offers
I've seen better O'Keeffe selections at other major museums, and a much (!) better show mounted as a special exhibition (Norton, West Palm Beach) that really spent a great deal of time exploring O'Keeffe as both a woman (collection of clothing, jewelry, etc.) and an artist. This was a pale rendition of that. Popular, and thus, crowded, which doesn't help. As the only game in town, and perhaps if one doesn't travel - then you'd be glad of it. Otherwise as a museum which specializes in one artist, I don't think they've got the best of her work (not that there aren't some onteresting items - off her beaten path and welcome to see), or really capture O'Keeffe's essence / though you can tell tell they try. Possibly I'm just picking, having seen a special exhibit that did the job sooo much better.

A "must-do" for Georgia O'Keeffe fans; remember your earbuds
The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, 217 Johnson Street (just steps from the downtown Plaza) has more than 3,000 works, a portion of which are displayed in changing thematic galleries. Tip #1: If you’re an O’Keeffe fan or if your favorite piece wasn’t on display, you can click through all 997 of O’Keeffe’s works in the museum’s collection on its website. Tip #2: Remember earbuds (we didn’t; the museum offers a free audio tour).

For how militant the museum is about booking ahead of time, I was surprised and highly annoyed how CROWDED the space was. What’s the point of reservations when you’re not controlling the durations? Utilize the time windows for what they are! Alloted time. Obviously the works were beautiful but the space was tiny. I wouldn’t say I regret spending $20 since I’m a patron of the arts but I am highly disappointed at how disorganized visits are. Don’t be fooled by online reservations.

If you love Georgia O'Keeffe's art, this rather small museum is worth visiting, but IMHO poor value for money compared with the many, many art museums we have visited throughout the States. It didn't help that we relied on the information in the Santa Fe Visitors Website and (unusual for us) did not go to the actual museum website itself. If we had done that we would have found out that the Seniors admission is $20 (guess what there IS no seniors admission) rather than the $10 quoted on the SFV Website. Also we would have found out that advanced reservations were needed and saved us having to hang around for 3 hours before we could be "squeezed in" to the very crowded museum. Ultimately our fault, obviously, but still very disappointing!

We were a little disappointed in this museum. We expected it to be larger, for one. We made reservations ahead of time as required, but there is no flexibility on the museum’s part to even let you in five minutes early. I wish we had known about the app beforehand so we could have learned how to use it properly instead of trying to figure it out on the fly. I thought there would be some signature pieces here, but I didn’t see anything you can’t see at other larger art museums that contain O’Keefe’s works.

Our trip to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum was a bit of a disappointment, unfortunately. The room featuring a orientation video was being used to film another project and, therefore, unavailable. Also, a good many paintings were missing. By way of an apology, they cut the $13.00 entry fee in half for our visit. Adding to the problems, Johnson Street is closed due to construction across the street from the museum. It's a treat to see work by this artist that so ably defines northern New Mexico, but, honestly, I wished we picked another time when there would be more to see.

Thank you for you review. The gallery has completed its collections photography project and everything is back up on the walls should you have an opportunity to visit us again!

I visited this museum in April of 2022. I already knew that for a Georgia O'Keefe lover, this is not really the museum to visit. There are interesting facts to read and each room had a place to sit and watch some type of movie. Advanced reservations are needed to visit here, and the charge was $18.oo per person. It was very hot in the museum, and the drinking fountains were not turned on. Masks are worn at all times. I felt they were back at the beginning of the pandemic. I was with a group who wanted to visit this museum, but I would not recommend doing so.

This is a small, focused, excellent museum.

Currently, during COVID, you need an advance reservation to visit this museum. Get one as soon as you can -- they are hard to get.

Normally, but not during COVID, one can also make a reservation to take a small group tour of Georgia O'Keefe's house in Abiquiu. This is highly recommended. In the past, reservations for these filled up months in advance, and were very hard to get. If they re-open that tour, be sure to buy tickets as soon as you can. These tours are extremely special, rare, and worthwhile enough that one might plan a trip to Santa Fe around their availability.

Even though I am a fan of Georgia O'keefe and her work and there is a lot on display here, I am giving it a three star because of all the drama that surrounds entry into the museum, starting with advanced timed ticket. This is a well honored gimmick in the book to create hype and the silly gringos fall for it making the entire experience very unpleasant. The museum is full of these elderly matron type women and their spouses pretending to be art aficionados. This museum would not be in the top 5 museums in Santa Fe to visit.

Make sure you make reservations well in advance if you want to go. Museum has timed entries. The only other way to get a ticket is to show up around 10 am the day you want to visit and stand in line for a chance to buy a ticket for that day. Only a certain number are given out to people showing up like that. It is well worth a visit-to see Georgia's work, hear about her interesting life and enjoy the audio tour.

This is a must for all visiting Sante Fe - of particular interest the 15 minute movie about Georgia's life. We went early to try
and avoid large crowds - somewhat successful . Plan on spending at least
2 hrs here, including the museum store
it's easy to find and short walking distance from the plaza . Enjoy !

This is in no way all her art but there is enough of each piece to understand the various subject matter she painted over the years. The 14 minute movie is critical to give you some insight into Gerorgia’s life and perspectives. There is a timeline in the room that is also very worthwhile.
