Premise “Pupstruction” is an imaginative, music-filled series centering on Phinny, an innovative young corgi and the smallest pup on the crew, who proves that you don’t need big paws to have big dreams or big ideas. Along with the rest of the Pupstruction crew ― including a comically spontaneous sheepdog, Luna; a can-do rottweiler, Roxy; and lovable, snack-obsessed mastiff, Tank — Phinny and team work together to build and create to make their town a better place for all of its citizens. Braun also executive producers alongside Vic Cook with Robyn Brown serving as co-producer/story editor. Abigail Nesbitt is supervising director. On August 26, 2021, it was revealed that Pupstruction had been given a two-season order with 25 episodes in each season, respectively. On January 13, 2023, five months prior to premiering, it was renewed for a second season. On February 10, 2024, ahead of the second season premiere, the series was renewed for a third season. Filming Voice recording on the first season began sometime in 2021 and ended in 2022. In early January 2023, the cast returned to begin voice recording for the second season. Casting In April 2022, Yonas Kibreab, Carson Minniear, Scarlett Kate Ferguson and Mica Zeltzer joined the cast as series regulars, while Justina Machado, Bobby Moynihan, Kari Wahlgren, Eric Bauza and Alessandra Perez joined in recurring capacities. In May 2023, Yvette Nicole Brown joined the cast in a recurring role, while Olga Merediz, Todrick Hall, Gabriel Iglesias and Nate Torrence joined the cast in guest roles. Broadcast Pupstruction premiered on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Wednesday, June 14 at 8 a.m. EST. The first eight episodes were also was released the same day on Disney+. Trivia The series was announced on August 18, 2021. According to an employee on the show, Nickelodeon heard about Pupstruction in late 2021 and quickly put into production "Rubble & Crew" to beat the premiere of Pupstruction by six months. That was the reason why Pupstruction has had zero leaks, since Disney sent out an emergency e-mail to the directors and producers begging them to not have anyone include Pupstruction related material in any social media or any portfolios whatsoever. The main title theme song, written by series’ songwriter/composer Rob Cantor, will be released on Friday May 12, 2023. The full digital soundtrack, “Disney Junior Music: Pupstruction,” featuring the theme song plus additional songs from the series, was released by Walt Disney Records on June 14. Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing is developing product lines inspired by the series featuring apparel, figures, vehicles, role-play products, plush, books and more.
