The food was excellent. Several other factors were less so. Parking was less than convenient, and cost $10. I went with my wife to celebrate her birthday. We had an 8pm reservation. Our table was not ready until 8:25. The noise level in the dining room was obnoxiously high. This made communicating with our waiter difficult, and might explain some of the screw-ups with our order. We each ordered a bowl of soup. We each received a cup of soup. My wife ordered a filet mignon rare (it was perfect). I ordered sea bass (excellent), and two sides - a tomato cucumber dish, and "shagbark" grits. The sides were not delivered with the entrees. When I asked the waiter about them, he was not able to bring them until I had finished my entree, so I took them home. We shared a coconut donut dessert (excellent). We were given compensations for the screw-ups: a complimentary glass of champagne while waiting for our table, and no charge for the side dishes. Would I dine here again? Probably not, given the many excellent alternatives available in town.

My wife and I went for a date night without the kids. Wine selection was very good. We started with the burrata and dumplings. Dumplings were nice. Burrata was ok. Needed some more acidity. My wife ordered the seabsss and I had the scallops. Both tasted great. Only possible negative was the long wait for the drinks in the beginning. Was a bit odd. But overall a very nice evening. Would go again

I have been here several times and it was excellent. This most recent visit was dreadful and disappointing. The menus were worn, dirty and contained very limited options. We thought we were having a brunch but it is clearly a breakfast menu with cocktails and not brunch. The coffee was cold and burnt. Our poached eggs were served cold with a clumpy hollandaise. The fruit portion was sized for a toddler and the toast was also cold (but the jam was tasty). The service was very friendly and charming but sluggish and inattentive. Even if it was half the price it would not have been worthwhile and the worst part was, we brought friends from out of town and told them how good it was going to be. Perhaps they just don't care about breakfast/brunch?

I had the pleasure of dining at The Guild Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful surprise. The food exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return. This restaurant is not only perfect for adults but also kid-friendly. The atmosphere at The Guild is truly amazing, boasting a wonderful ambience that sets the perfect mood for a great dining experience. The decor is beautiful, and the staff is equally impressive. What’s even better is that the meals are very affordable, making it a fantastic option for both everyday dining and special occasions. I have to give this restaurant a perfect 10 out of 10 for its overall experience. We ordered the PANCAKES, and they were a burst of flavors in every bite. Fresh fruit, lemon curd, and Ohio maple syrup, paired with bacon, created a combination that was simply mouthwatering. As for the appetizer, we tried the OYSTER MUSHROOMS, although I have to agree that they looked more like calamari mushrooms. Nevertheless, the dish was incredibly flavorful, and the truffle aioli was a perfect complement. I’d definitely recommend trying it. All in all, my experience at The Guild Restaurant was outstanding, and I can’t wait to go back for more of their fantastic food and atmosphere.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Guild House. It was in our hotel (The Joseph) and the meal was perfect. This was a special occasion, a birthday, and the staff were accommodating.

We made reservations for 7:00PM on a Tuesday and needed to wait for about 15 minutes for our table. The decor is interesting and the tables and chairs are not fancy. In the photos the bar looks bigger than it actually is. Our server was Steph/Stephanie and she was very personable, helpful and funny. The issues that we had were not her problem and she did the best that she could in the situation. We ordered the Sweet Potato Rolls, Local Wagyu and Stuffed Poblano to start. The Sweet Potato Rolls were fresh, hot and soft but had no sign of sweet potato in them. The Local Wagyu was ordered medium which should be a little pink but came out bloody rare which caused us to send it back to be cooked more. The Wagyu came back out and was still more on the rare side than desired but the dish was very good with the combination of mushrooms and the cognac reduction. The Stuffed Poblano was good but a little small; I would say that it would be a good choice for one person. For entrees we ordered the Filet, Salmon and Sea Bass. After the experience with the Wagyu appetizer we opted to order it cooked medium; this guest would normally order medium rare. The filet came out very close to raw. The Salmon came out crispy on the top but almost uncooked inside. At this point the manager came over to apologize and attempt to resolve the issues. At this point the manager comped our meal and asked if we wanted to try something else on the menu. We tried the Lamb Burger and the Pork but I substituted the plating with the plating of the Halibut. The manager suggested that we get salads while waiting so we both opted for the Gem salad. The Gem salad was bitter to the point that it was not edible. The Lamb Burger was edible but not great. The Pork was good and tender but I was not wanting to eat at this point. I took the Pork home as leftovers and it was actually a good lunch later in the week. The Sea Bass was ordered without the lobster broth and turned out to be good this way. The Chocolate Cherry Sundae was a very good dessert. The wine list and captain's list do not offer a large selection; however, there are some good options available. The captain's list prices are higher than most restaurants offering the same wines. The manager was Laurie Kniess that night. In my opinion she did a good job taking care of our situation. I would blame the kitchen staff for all of the issues that we experienced that night. I am not sure that I will return to The Guild House after this experience. I have often said that great customer service and average food is a combination that I would try again. Considering that we were able to find alternatives that were acceptable on the menu makes me think that we might return. I am very disappointed with our experience and was looking forward to trying the Salmon or maybe the Filet. Time will tell.

Upon visiting this unique restaurant for the first time, we left feeling it was first class in every way. Each employee we met was very friendly and efficient. Seph was just great, helping us in deciding the menu items we chose and providing wonderful service. The manager made sure we had a pleasant evening. The food was outstanding, and the ambiance exceptional !!! Looking forward to going back again next time we are in town.

I visited The Guild House from out of town in dire need of a good meal at a time when the restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday night, looking for some food to take back to my hotel room for my husband and myself. Despite that the restaurant was clearly busy at that time, the hostess, Ava, went above and beyond to accommodate me. I told her that I had multiple dietary restrictions, and she took the time to talk to the chef about each ingredient that would be in my dinner. My dinner was ready so quickly, in about 15 minutes, and it was outstanding. I had chicken with vegetables and a leek puree. My husband said his dinner, the chicken dish as listed on their menu, was excellent as well. The next evening we returned for more takeout. I was even more impressed this time as Ava had remembered my dietary restrictions from the previous night, and again accommodated me very quickly. I really enjoyed the vegetables and puree from the first night, and asked for extra, as well as a salad modified from the menu, and because they listened to my feedback so well, this dinner was even better than the one I'd had the night before. Ava and the other staff we met were so warm, welcoming, and kind. They made our trip to Columbus wonderful, and I'll be sure to come back to the Guild House when I visit Columbus in the future. My husband joked that it was good the restaurant wasn't nearby our home as I would be there every night.

Initially, I was skeptical about visiting The Guild Housw as the menu had limitations, but I kept seeing online recommendations, so the wife and I decided to go for brunch for our anniversary. It was not the best of ideas. The location is typical of the Short North with little to no parking on the street, but there is a parking garage, so all was well. The decor is nice. Very esthetically pleasing to the eye. I do not recall our waitress name, but she was pleasant. We started with coffee, which was rather watery. As an appetizer, we got the sweet potato rolls. They were decent. Not as sweet as expected, but tolerable. I got the Smoked Chicken Hash and my wife got the Simply Egg meal. Both dishes were extremely bland, to say the least. There was nothing special about either dish, but I was especially annoyed with my dish as I expected some Spanish elements as that was how the dish was described, but instead, I got undercooked sweet potatoes, minimal chicken, and overall a dish that lacked any sort of flavor. When you can make the same dish at home ten times better, it is rather disheartening. The decor and service made up for the flavorless food, but not enough for us to give this place another chance.

Kaily, bartender at The Guild House. Told her I had 40m to eat, need to be out by 9pm. Can you time it? She said yes. Ordered Hamachi crudo and duck cavatelli, dirty martini. Best martini ever (tied with my favorite Martini from Prima Pasta a local Miami institution! First dish out in 10m. Second dish perfectly timed. At 8:58pm, she presented the check unsolicited, said “you got 2m left!”. Absolutely outstanding service, attention to detail, remembering specifics while serving up to 12 other patrons at the bar. A true gem 💎 The food overall was fantastic. Tasty, well seasoned. Jalapeño was HOT! 🥵 all on point. Seriously amazing experience all around. Love the joint!

The rustic ambiance and food was great at the Guild House. Top on my list was the juicy lamb chops that was served with a side of rice. We booked our spot some days ahead because of how crowded it gets.

Underwhelming. We ordered the oysters, which were topped with so many diced veggies that the oyster was not really discernable under all that. I had gnocchi - on their website, the gnocchi look something like gnocchi, pillowy and striated, but these were just tiny solid lumps of dough. The sauce was okay and I probably would have dipped some bread in it after I finished, but this is another restaurant that eschews giving bread. I have been there twice - the last time was about five years ago - and was not impressed.

This is a great spot right in downtown. This was right next to our hotel so it was pretty convenient for us. The food is delicious and they have good vegetarian options The only downside is the restaurant caters to a high end marker which is great but we do not see the kid friendliness from the waiters. I know it's a hard balance to strike but that is something that can be improved

The Guild House is a beautiful restaurant that serves great food matched with wonderful service. We had lunch that was delicious - lamb burger as one selection and the featured omelet with goat cheese and rosemary ham accompanied by a small fruit serving. The fruit was sweet and ripe! Our server Colin provided service that was perfect! He checked with us at what seemed to be perfect times and offered opinions regarding selections we found that were accurate for us! Delicious food, wonderful service and a relaxing environment made us promise to return!

My friend and I met for dinner before heading to the Ohio Theater. This was my first time at the restaurant. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the dumplings and the stuffed poblano, The poblano was excellent. She had the salmon and I tried their special which was a 7 oz. New York Strip. It was cooked perfectly. Desert was a chocolate and peanut butter torte and a cronut. We both preferred the cronut. The atmosphere was great and the service was wonderful. Overall a superb dinner. The only downside was the cost.
