I should have started my Gang Starr introduction with a studio release, as this release suffers a bit from to much of a good thing. Sure great beats from DJ Premier, and a nice jazzy flow from Guru, but 20 tracks later things start getting a little...dull. A landmark outfit for sure, and I always love the DJ / MC format, but for me personally these tracks would fair better in a mix with others.

It's basically "Full Clip" condensed to one disc, plus a couple of cuts from "The Ownerz".

555555....You know it didnt even hit me how great gang Starr is until i bought this. i have their albums, but putting it all together...wow.
My personal favorites.."Words That I Manifest" (the first one I remember from them back in the day), "DWYCK" (one of the greatest beats of all time), "The Militia" and "Ex-Girl to the Next Girl". but they are all very, very good.
Its not fair to judge compilations on the same scale as regular LP's, but this one is one of the 4-5 CD's i keep right there in my car on a daily basis.
