Love this place. It's basically north-western NJ's local "dead bar".
I'll always be here for all the Dead cover bands. Diamond Eye Jack, This Old Engine, and whoever else they can book.
Good beer selection. Fair prices. Chill and laid-back staff. Great crowd.
I wish they took out a few tables to make more dance floor space though. It seems like we always need more dance floor space.
I wish they'd start booking some real deal bluegrass bands, some blues singers, and maybe a bit of jazz though
But literally, I love this place. It's family. It's home.
We had a fab time at Bernie's tonight. Great music, nice food and a big friendly crowd.
Went on Friday night with 6 friends after dinner elsewhere. We arrived during the live band's final song and walked around the hugh crowd!
Got seats at the bar and enjoyed ourselves we great service.
Located off 206N in Chester uniquely in a neighborhood. Bernie's is that unique place that has the feel your in someone's backyard if you happen to attend a concert outside. There are picnic tables, and tables made out of the base of gigantic trees with umbrellas. The band has its own stage front and center.
The parking lot is directly behind the band.
Inside, there's a full bar and tables for viewing bands once covid is over.
The drinks here are decent. The staff is friendly, but strick and follow all covid rules.
The decor is definitely weathered. This is a neighborhood no thrills bar.
I've been here many times and have seen some really good bands. I've seen the Anthony Krizan band here a few times.
Bernie's doesn't serve any food. You are allowed to bring in your own food, or you can order from Roman‘s pizzeria which is close by and they will deliver right to Bernie’s. You cannot bring in any of your own alcohol!
Definitely give them a try.
One of the last great roadhouse bars in New Jersey. Awesome staff! Florida guitar legend Raiford Starke totally ripped it up last weekend - a "must see" performer!!!
Great rural watering hole/music venue. Awesome vibe, feels like some pastiche of back country Americana from yesteryear, complete with creaky front porch. Killer (and huge) backyard. Well worth the trip!
Great live music joint/bar. I've opened for bands here and seen many more bands here.
Excellent spot for live music. Drinks are inexpensive. A fun drive to a roadhouse destination. Plenty of overflow parking on the street. Friendly bartenders. Catch an outside show and enjoy the beautiful yard. Bring a lawn chair and bug spray for comfort of you are going to sit outside.
They do not serve food but allow you to bring your own if you are seated out back.
Best open mic night every Wednesday featuring Joe and his incredible talented backing band. They make you sound full and professional and the crowd is very appreciative and knowledgeable!
Stopped in for a quick beer to get out of traffic. A very pleasant surprise. Patrons were very pleasant, beer was ice cold and the bartender was sweet and attractive. What more could you ask for?
