Ted DiBiase Opens Up About WWE Legend's Death

The untimely deaths of so many young talents have left an indelible mark on the pro wrestling industry, including the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase.

However, the passing of Owen Hart remains one of the most tragic. On May 23, 1999, during the WWE’s Over the Edge pay-per-view event, Hart, performing as the Blue Blazer, was set to make a dramatic entrance from the arena’s rafters. However, a stunt harness malfunction tragically resulted in Hart falling from a significant height, leading to fatal injuries.

The profound shock and sorrow reverberated throughout the wrestling community and beyond and is still felt to this very day. WWE Hall Of Famer ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase recently gave his thoughts on the death of Owen Hart on the Everybody’s Got A Pod podcast.

“Owen was great. I’m telling you, Owen was a pleasure to work with, you know. And the tragedy of what eventually happened to him is so sad. I mean, because he had so much potential. And in real life, he was a really funny guy. I mean he was a ribber. A ribber, meaning a jokester. He would play ribs on people, you know, and like everybody in the dressing room would get to laugh at it, whatever it was. But just a great guy, and it was just so sad, so sad that he died like he did.”

Owen Hart was highly rated as a performer and loved as a person by both fans and his peers.
