- Mike D2 contributions3 Stars as notedI have 2 criticisms about this restuarant so I am only giving them 3 stars. First I have a stomach problem with rich sauces. I ordered the beef stroganoff. Usually this comes with buttered noodles but rhis came with a rich sauce. This should be NOTED on the menu! Second when I made the reservation on line they asked if this was for a special occasion. I typed in yes we were celebrating our anniversary. Not sure why as they did did not acknowledge our special day. I would not go back.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 15, 2023
- RicardoMississauga, Canada8 contributionsAwesomeWe did the buffet dining experience and it was amazing. For $49.00 CAD per person you can’t beat that. It’s cheaper than the regular menu. Also if you dine in you get to the observation deck for free. So it’s great deal.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 23, 2023
- garchrPittsburgh, Pennsylvania128 contributionswife's first trip to the topThis was my wife's first trip to the top and my second, but the first was over 30 years ago. The view is great and you can get a dollar off deal if you find a coupon in one of the many tour books they put out. They really do not limit the time spent on the observation deck so feel free to take your time. The one thing I did not care for was the photos they try to get you to take and then purchase on the way down. Too pricey. Also, they try to get all the people they can in the elevator so the trip up is rather cramped.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 3, 2023
- Patti SBradenton, Florida50 contributionsWonderful Experience - OK FoodI would go again for the atmosphere and delightful views. The food is not memorable and there is a required minimum amount per person, which seemed to be $50 Canadian, not including beverages or dessert. One person in our party attempted to order two appetizers and a dessert, which would have cost over $50 and she was told that, regardless of ordering the dessert, she needed to order a third appetizer if not ordering one of the pricier entrees. Service was very good and it was a charming evening all in all.Visited July 2023Written August 7, 2023
- GHalewoodLiverpool, United Kingdom112 contributionsAmazing views, and a good Buffet. My wife booked the Skylon tower buffet before we arrived in Niagra, and to be fair we really enjoyed it.like other reviewers have stated the tower is looking its age but the reception area and lifts up and down are well organised ,so no long wait. We were seated at a table for two next to the windows and wow !!! the views are fantastic.but to honest regardless were your sitting the views are stunning. The buffet isn’t the biggest ,so don’t expect a Vegas casino sized one ,but the selection was good and we enjoyed are food. After our meal your ticket includes a trip to the viewing platform, and again great views. A really good experience we both enjoyed and if I’m being honest probably the best meal we had during are stay in Niagra falls.Visited August 2023Written August 16, 2023
- mrsronnydavisSebago, Maine75 contributionsMost beautiful view ever while eating!Had a great dinner at the buffet with a Perfect view of niagara falls while we ate. The buffet was wonderful (a little pricy for a buffet dinner) But the view while eating was worth it. The meal also came with a free ticket to the observation deck, and what a view. Tip: for the best view reserve dinner early in the evening .Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 19, 2023
- Tracy L30 contributionsFantastic! Highly recommendedWe ate at the Skylon Tower, choosing the buffet restaurant at $50. As it costs $20 just to go up to the observatory, we thought the price was okay. The food was really good, and as it is an all you can eat buffet, there's plenty of choice and the food is good quality (except the 'chicken fingers' were awful - tasted old as well as being cold!). Our table was booked for 5pm and we arrived to check in at 4.45pm, securing a window seat. The views are truly amazing. Highly recommended.Visited September 2023Written September 14, 2023

The views of the various falls and the river were breathtaking during our meal and afterward from observation area. We ate at the buffet restaurant, delicious selection of foods with starter, mains, desserts, cheese & coffee/tea for $50 per head (ÂŁ37) Staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Parking is so easy in the town, even for the motorhome with multiple parking lots offering all day parking for $5-10Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2023

Extreme waste of time! There used to be a time when the arcade was a fun place to visit. Now there are more games that are out of order than actually working! Even the token exchange machine was broken, only accepting US dollar bills and not Canadian ones to exchange for tokens! The guy behind the “prize” counter exchanged a $5 bill for tokens for me and let’s just say that it’s beyond sad when an adult and a teen cannot find enough interesting things to do to even spend $5 in tokens at an arcade. Tickets earned from games are sparse and we walked out with 2 bouncy balls for which we were 20 tickets short of earning but the prize guy said to take it.
On the main level the “souvenir” shop was sparsely filled and overpriced. Really underwhelming visit!

Many reviewers comment that any restaurant with a view of the Falls demands high prices and serves mediocre food. Mostly true. Our experience at the Skylon Restaurant did confirm the high prices for everything....drinks, main courses, desserts, and wine. However the food was excellent. We had the prime rib, which was cooked to perfection and one the best I have ever had. We were only 3 people, and although you cannot reserve a window table, we were lucky to be seated at one at the time of our reservation. The service was very good and we did not feel rushed through the meal. The servers are always around if you need them. Our visit was a special occasion and a highlight of our weekend. Make a reservation as far ahead of time as you can.

If you're keen on having a unique dinner experience, I imagine you won't find much better in the immediate area around the Falls themselves. Though we didn't have great luck with visibility due to poor weather, the food was delicious and fairly accommodating for those with dietary restrictions.
Be prepared for a lofty bill (tourist tax included...).
We started out with an appetizer, each had a protein based entree ($60-65 each), a nice bottle of wine and some desserts. We were close to $300 with gratuity.
That said, my wife had the creme brulee and it was incredibly smooth and creamy; she says possibly one of the best she's had. I had the apple pie, which was also incredible.
We popped up to the observation deck just for fun, but again we couldn't barely see the parking lot, let alone where the falls were. I'm sure the views are awesome at any other time though.

After visiting the falls, we figured we had to stop at the Skylon Tower. The elevator ride was so cool with great views of the falls. At the top it wasn’t super busy which is nice, and there is a lot of info surrounding the location. It was around 30Fahrenheit on the outside deck, which makes sense due to being so high up in February. If you don’t like cold wind, you can stay on the inside portion, or maybe come in the summer months. If you are afraid of heights, this is definitely not for you. I am so glad I stopped here!

We went at 5:00 as we heard about the early dinner menu. for $45 you get a starter salad, choice of 5 or 6 meals, and a dessert (note you can upgrade to the best cheesecake ever for $4, very good and large so definitely sharable.)
The views were unbeatable, much better than the Keg Falls view, and the food and service were better too.
Dinners are perfectly cooked, large portions and delicious, everything my boyfriend and I ordered was fantastic. We had Tom as our server and he was incredibly attentive and amazing.
Would go here again in a heartbeat.

We decided to spend our one-year anniversary at Skylon Tower, and we were not disappointed. All expected covid protocols were in place, including all servers wearing masks (many wearing gloves also), lots of hand sanitizer, and enforced social distancing. The tables were spaced nicely apart, which made for a nice intimate dining experience that wasn’t crowded. The 360 view of the city was INCREDIBLE.
As always the service was impeccable from start to finish, as was the dinner. My husband enjoyed his rack of lamb, which was cooked perfectly. My filet mignon with Béarnaise sauce was the best steak I’ve ever had. We finished our meal with an amazing cheesecake, made in house. This is the best place in Niagara Falls to celebrate an occasion.

If you are planning to visit Canda side of Niagara falls from USA, I would recommend going through the Peace Bridge rather than the Rainbow Bridge as the wait times are shorter. e.g. When we went on a saturday the wait time on Rainbow bridge was 60mins while that on Peace Bridge was 10minutes. The skylon tower provides the best view of Niagara falls in my opinion. There wasn't a long wait time (less than 10 mins). Once you are up there there's glass enclosed area as well as open air area. It's best to take a fleece or light jacket as the open air area is a bit chilly. It was pretty windy too up there so be prepared for that. Overall it took about an hour from the point of parking the car to going up and coming back down.

We ate at the restaurant and it did have an amazing view! I had to get my "sea legs" up there with the rotating dining room, but the views were indeed incredible.
The food....be prepared. You have to order at least $45 per person and the entrees were like $55 and over and the menu was taste specific. I got appetizers and you have to order at least three. The food was definitely so-so and very expensive. It was pretty warm up there as well. I was hot!
Overall, great experience, but not sure I'd go again. It was over $200 for two adults and a kiddo.

We had dinner there as per someone’s suggestion. At first I wasn’t going to do it because it seemed a bit touristy. I’m glad we did because the food was fine and the price was even better! If you go to the 430 or 5 PM seating it was under $50 PP for the meal not including the tip. And, you got to ride the scenic elevator for which there is an admission fee. Our waitress and waiter were excellent and the view is incredible.
Of note, the other couple we were with , questioned “reservations “
about the 3% fee that they add to your bill - recreational fee or some such nonsense. It is listed on the homepage after the menu. I missed it completely. They were told that they could ask the waitress to remove it from the bill. It was removed.

We took the stairs up to the viewing deck, it's spacious and there's a gift shop. The view is incredible! I'm not sure what the cost is, we had dinner prior and was included.
I recommend putting away hats, masks etc before you step outside, the wind was strong!

Do they still have the photo booth where you can get a picture of yourself going down the falls in a barrel?
What’s on the observation deck? Are there tables up there that you can sit at to watch the view?
Ramesh
Lombard, IL61 contributions
No, It is a walk around in a circle to view the entire city and river view. to the best of my knowledge people don't spent that much time at the tower, because it is not a closer view from the top.
Again I don't mislead you, if I didn't pay close look about the seating facility, because it was not of any concern about me. Our tour guide gave us limited time - including waiting in line both ways to go up and down.

we stayed at a hotel not that far so we were within walking distance. I did see a few parking lots around. We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton with the Ruth Chris attached and it was a 5 min walk away.

I am confused by the "Day/Night Pass" for the Observation Deck. There is an entry in the FAQ section of the Skylon website that states:
"How long does the Observation Deck, Day and Night pass last?
The Day/Night pass is valid for 2 escalations per person between the time of redemption and the end of the next business day, (24 hours)"
So, if we arrive at 5PM on a Monday evening, is the pass valid until the end of the next business day (which would be 2AM Wednesday morning)? Or for 24 hours (which would be 5PM on Tuesday evening)?
Thank you.

As far as I am aware the 24 hour pass is valid from the time you purchased the pass for that period. Allowing you 2 escalations. How you plan it us up to you but i would recommend going up once during the day and once after nightfall.
