      Marnina N No worries if you read the book, you'll have no idea what's going to happen next in the show. I really enjoyed the book, it's clever, funny, has a bit of heart and it's a fun little mystery. A couple of days after finishing it, I stumbled on the TV show. The TV show is more like fan fiction where they take the main character and the premise of her losing her memory and create an entirely different story with subplots that have no parallels to the book. So there's some superficial similarities, but reading the book will not give away spoilers for the show. The showmakers will also strike you as humourless lot once you've read O'Malley's wry sardonic tone throughout his novel. I preferred the book, and preferred O'Malley's depiction of Rook Thomas. But the show's not bad for what it is. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Richard W Why don't they pronounce Myfanwy correctly? It's really. really annoying. Usually an interesting premise but here the plotting between various parties and infighting in the team just mangles the narrative and confuses the story. By the end of the season it's still not clear which side will win, or what the mess in episode 1 was supposed to achieve. Too much grey to sort out the machinations and apply motivations.
