      Interview With the Vampire

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Despite lacking some of the book's subtler shadings, and suffering from some clumsy casting, Interview with a Vampire benefits from Neil Jordan's atmospheric direction and a surfeit of gothic thrills.

Kevin Maher Times (UK) Only 11 at the time, [Dunst's] range is extraordinary, and she easily outclasses her adult male co-stars in every scene. Rated: 5/5 Feb 15, 2024 Full Review Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune Director Neil Jordan has always had an affinity for underdogs, and he has created a film that can be viewed as empathetic to any oppressed group. Oct 27, 2022 Full Review Quentin Crisp Christopher Street I simply do not want any more movies about vampires or about Mr. Frankenstein. First name L Occasionaly campy, undeniably grand and dark, I rarely enjoy Pitt or Cruise (outside Mission Impossible.) But both delivered stellar performances that would impress Stoker himself. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Miracle L This movies is a masterpiece, I love how Louis tells the interviewer the story. its like no other vampire movie I’ve ever seen👍🏾 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Slava C This movie got old badly. The actors' play is too theatrical. Nobody express emotions like this any more. Additionally to an old school theatrical play you get a lot of fire (probably Hollywood mastered burning things down at that moment), bad FX of vampires flying with the ropes attached and a totally unnecessary helicopter scene. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Petros T It features strong performances by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst, quite a few laughs and suspenseful moments, and all-around great effects. Its most powerful, interesting parts are arguably the dynamics between Louis and Lestat as well as Claudia's story and arc. On the downside, the narration gets a bit much thus betraying the film's origins as a book in an unsubtle manner, and the last part (the second half almost) does get a little tedious and doesn't feel very well established. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Kitty _ Brooding and sombre, claustrophobic and wonderous. Tom and Brad are a treat for the eye and the imagination. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review matt p This is a serious movie and when watching it you meant to take it serious but there is element so serious bits however how it can switch and make you laugh is what makes it great it with snappy funny comments makes the movie good and this wouldn't been able to happen if it wasn't a good movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
