Perfect Pulp Potboiler
Shot in 13 days by up and comer Richard Fleischer, this is a gem of a thriller. I think perhaps the reason a lot of these B-movies from the last century are so enjoyable is that because they were the lesser offerings from the studio, they were left alone by the front office, and as long as they could function within the tight parameters established by the small budget and quick shooting schedule, the directors and technicians could do whatever they wanted. It is pretty much the same paradigm that Roger Corman used as a producer--and look at the directors that guy spawned!

the narrow margin Fleischer noir
Well done film noir, Fleischer ratchets up the suspense and the narrow train isles keep the noir tight and fatal, nice twist at the end and MacGraw and Windsor are superb as they are familiar artists in the noir scene
