The Eastman School of Music is a college at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, and has been a partner institution of the University of Music Wuerzburg since 2014.

As part of the cooperation with the Eastman School of Music, students of the University of Music Wuerzburg have the opportunity to study in the USA for one or two semesters.

Semester dates:

Winter semester: August to December
Summer semester: January to May

Language of instruction: English

Application

Applications to study abroad at Eastman School of Music should be submitted via an Online Application Portal.

Before students apply via the portal, they must be nominated by the International Office. For nomination, the following documents must be submitted to the International Office by 31 January:

• Completed application form (download right)
• Link with about 15 minutes of music (at least 3 different styles)
• Curriculum vitae (in English)
• Letter of motivation (in English)
• Transcript of Records (in English)
• Proof of language skills in English (at least B2 CEFR)

After nomination, students create their own account and upload the following documents to the application portal:

• Application Form (generated online)
• Transcript of Records (in English)
• Recording with approx. 15-20 minutes of music (at least 3 different styles)
• 3 Letters of recommendation
• Detailed letter of motivation (in English, approx. 1-2 pages)

The application deadline is the 15 April 2018 for both semesters of the academic year 2018/2019.
