Two Of Bon Jovi’s Biggest Hits Reach New Peaks On The Billboard Charts

Following

Bon Jovi’s music is surging in popularity thanks to a new docuseries about the band. Following the recent premiere of Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story on Hulu, countless fans rushed to stream–and especially buy–their favorite tunes from the group. The rockers dominate one ranking thanks to all those purchases, with two of their most beloved smashes hitting new peaks.

Both “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “It’s My Life” reach new high points on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart this week. Billboard publishes the tally to show which hard rock tracks actually sold the most copies in the U.S. in the prior tracking period.

Between those two, “It’s My Life” is the higher-ranking of the hits that reach new peaks. The track, which helped reinvigorate the band’s career two decades ago, blasts back onto the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 3. It’s only racked up three stays on this tally, including this frame.

“You Give Love a Bad Name” comes next, and it also hits a new peak position. That early single from Bon Jovi returns to the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 4. It’s spent much more time on the tally than the tune that directly precedes it, as “You Give Love a Bad Name” has now spent 32 frames somewhere on this recently-truncated list.

Bon Jovi fills three more spaces on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart this time around. That’s an incredible feat, as the roster only features 10 spots. That means the rockers own half of the entire list.

“Livin’ on a Prayer” returns to the No. 1 spot, though it’s not new to the penthouse. “Wanted Dead or Alive” reappears on the list at No. 6. That cut has now spent 173 nonconsecutive turns on this roster.

One of Bon Jovi’s earliest releases, “Runaway,” debuts on the chart this week. Somehow, the song that made them superstars has never sold well enough in one tracking week to land on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales tally–at least not since the ranking was introduced years ago. That cut launches at No. 8, giving the group another top 10 hit.
