Layla Schlack is an award-winning writer and editor. As a food reporter with Hearst Connecticut Media Group, she covers restaurant openings and closings, Connecticut’s history and agriculture. Wine is a big area of interest in her reporting, as are trends in restaurants and who’s driving them.
Previously, she's worked as an editor with Whetstone Media, Wine Enthusiast, Fine Cooking and more. Her byline has appeared in The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Food & Wine, Food 52 and Epicurious, among others, and she holds an MFA in Creative & Professional Writing from Western Connecticut State University. She lives in Norwalk with her husband, dog, cat and amaro collection.
