When of the lesser known Snoop Dogg projects, and not really one of the highlights of his career, but it does have a few good moments scattered throughout. Based around the character of his film "Jimmy Bones", most of the songs talk about about related stories sort of like Curtis Mayfield did with the Superfly soundtrack. Not that it totally works, but there's at least a little theme running around the album and gives it a little cohesiveness. The production is provided by the usual west coast suspects of that era of Snoop, Fredwreck, Battlecat, Mel-Man, Soopafly and while we aren't in mid 90s territory here, there is a couple of those that are pretty nice. Lyrically it gets a little forgettable with Snoop not really giving a top performance (falling out of his prime and/or releasing too much music), the guests are all sort of just there, sure I'm a fan of a few of them but they don't really bring their best here. So all in all, this is a pretty average Snoop release, not one of his worst, but not in his best either, even some of his modern day projects get a little better than this. So I guess for Snoop completists fans? If those actually exists.
