The Wanda Diamond League 2023 Golden Gala results on June 2 with Kenya's Faith Kipyegon breaking the world record in the women's 1500m.

The Wanda Diamond League 2023 Golden Gala results in Florence on Friday (2) as Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon smahed a long-standing world record in the women’s 1500m, running a time of 3:49.11.

The two-time world champion dominated the race from the start after being calculatedly paced by Brooke Feldmeier and Sage Hurta-Klecker, who raced over to congratulate the Kenyan star after she crossed the finish line on the back of a 58.81 seconds final 400m. There were also victories on the day for world champion Fred Kerley in the men’s 100m after the American ran 9.94 seconds to remain undefeated this season, Erriyon Knighton of USA, who opened his 200m campaign with a swift 19.89 seconds, and Mohamed Katir of Spain, who ran 12:52.09 to win the men’s 5000m and led 13 men below 13-minutes for the first time in the same race.
